"You think I'm going too far?" Dai Mubai roared, his voice filled with anger. "Then why didn't you think about that when you were having fun with Zhao Ming?!" His pride as a man had been shattered, and now his heart was twisted with resentment.

Zhu Zhuqing wiped away the tears from the corner of her eyes, taking a deep breath to calm her trembling voice.

Though her heart was filled with rage and sorrow, Zhu Zhuqing knew that further provoking Dai Mubai would only make things worse. She needed to set the record straight. Even if she no longer had feelings for him and had given up on their relationship, she couldn't allow him to defame her with such baseless accusations.

Everything he had suggested was pure fabrication.

After realizing that she had developed some inappropriate feelings for Zhao Ming, Zhu Zhuqing had immediately suppressed them, preventing those emotions from growing any further.

She knew that a relationship with Zhao Ming was impossible.

Even when Zhao Ming had given her the mysterious Divine Footwork Manual, she had resisted the urge to ask for his guidance. She didn't want to have any unnecessary interactions with Zhao Ming anymore. She feared that the more time she spent with him, the more she would fall for the feeling of being cared for and protected—something that felt all too addictive.

Despite all of Dai Mubai's wrongdoings and false accusations, Zhu Zhuqing still considered herself his fiancée. Their engagement was a longstanding tradition between the Dai and Zhu families, something that could not easily be changed.

In her mind, she thought that perhaps they could maintain a relationship where they wouldn't interfere with each other's lives. It wouldn't be a relationship built on love, but it could be a cordial arrangement, much like many other couples in their families.

"Dai Mubai, I think it's time for us to have a proper conversation. Even if we don't have feelings for each other anymore, the traditions of our two families ensure that our futures are tied together. We need to make things clear," Zhu Zhuqing said in a calm voice.

"Fine, we can talk. Some things do need to be cleared up," Dai Mubai replied, his tone deceptively even, though his eyes burned with greed and madness.

That cold glint in his eyes sent a shiver down Zhu Zhuqing's spine.

"Let's go to my dorm and talk. Fatty won't be around; he's been taken to Blazing Academy by Dean Flender."

Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun shared a dorm, and Ma Hongjun had recently experienced another mutation in his spirit, transforming it into a pure fire attribute spirit. After some consideration, Flender had decided to take him to Blazing Academy, which was known for its expertise in fire-attribute spirits.

"Your dorm?" Zhu Zhuqing hesitated. Given Dai Mubai's current state, the idea of going to his dorm made her uneasy.

"What? You don't even want to come to my dorm? We can go to yours if you'd prefer. But of course, we wouldn't want Xiao Wu finding out that you're sneaking around with her boyfriend while still engaged to me..." Dai Mubai sneered.

"Why are you so fixated on me and Zhao Ming? There's nothing between us!" Zhu Zhuqing shouted, her tears finally spilling over.

"That's why we need to talk it out," Dai Mubai said with a mocking smile.

"Fine. I'll go with you." Zhu Zhuqing took a deep breath, resigning herself. She trusted that in a place like Shrek Academy, with teachers around, Dai Mubai wouldn't dare try anything rash.

Inside Dai Mubai and Ma Hongjun's dormitory, Zhu Zhuqing sat on a chair by Ma Hongjun's bed, keeping a careful distance from Dai Mubai.

"Dai Mubai, let's just get this over with. We have nothing to talk about for long. Men and women should keep their distance, and I won't stay here any longer than necessary," she said coldly.

Dai Mubai's eyes flashed with anger at her indifferent tone. His temper threatened to erupt, but he kept it in check, reminding himself of his plan.

Zhu Zhuqing...

You won't even let me hold your hand? You want to humiliate me with Zhao Ming?

"No need to rush. Let's take our time and talk." Dai Mubai smiled faintly, handing her a cup of tea.

Unbeknownst to Zhu Zhuqing, the tea had been laced with a special drug. The drug wouldn't harm her, but it would put her to sleep, allowing Dai Mubai to do whatever he wanted afterward.

He had no interest in hearing Zhu Zhuqing's explanation. As long as it involved Zhao Ming, he refused to believe anything she said. The only way for him to know the truth was to check for himself.

And as her fiancé, he felt he was entitled to do so. There was no guilt in his heart, no hesitation.

"What? You don't even dare drink the tea I made for you?" Dai Mubai asked angrily when he saw the hesitation in Zhu Zhuqing's expression.

Seeing his temper flare again, Zhu Zhuqing sighed and decided to avoid provoking him further. She took the cup and drank the tea in one gulp.

She told herself that the worst-case scenario was unlikely. Dai Mubai, for all his faults, still had some basic human decency—or so she thought.

After finishing the tea, Zhu Zhuqing didn't notice anything unusual.

"Now, can we talk?" Zhu Zhuqing said coldly.

"Of course," Dai Mubai replied with a smile. But his next move caused Zhu Zhuqing's heart to sink. He casually tilted his cup, spilling the tea onto the floor.

Dai Mubai then tossed the empty cup into the trash and fixed his bloodshot, greedy eyes on Zhu Zhuqing.

"What are you doing, Dai Mubai?" Zhu Zhuqing asked, her voice filled with disbelief.

"What am I doing? You think I care about your explanation? I'll find out for myself whether you and Zhao Ming did anything. You're my fiancée, after all. This is only natural," Dai Mubai said, his voice cold and menacing.

"You... You drugged me?" Zhu Zhuqing asked, her voice trembling with fury. She couldn't believe that Dai Mubai would stoop so low. She was his fiancée—how could he treat her like this, even if their relationship was broken?

As Zhu Zhuqing glared at him with a mixture of pain and hatred, a flicker of hesitation crossed Dai Mubai's eyes. But the image of Zhu Zhuqing and Zhao Ming together banished any trace of guilt he might have felt.

"Don't worry, it's just a simple sleeping drug. Nothing more. You'll wake up after a while, perfectly fine. If you're innocent, I'll apologize tomorrow."

"You wouldn't dare!" Zhu Zhuqing cried, trying to stand and flee. But as soon as she rose, her legs gave out, and her head began to spin. Her vision blurred, and she stumbled.

In that moment, an image of Zhao Ming flashed through her mind.

They say that in times of death or crisis, one often thinks of the person they care about the most.

Now, Zhu Zhuqing realized that deep in her heart, she had already fallen for him. Despite all her attempts to suppress those feelings, they had taken root.
