“I’m going to leave now, I’ll visit her at home another day.” After bidding farewell to Bai Qianqian and her two siblings, Gu Qingxin left the hospital.

Halfway through her journey, her phone rang again. Seeing a strange number displayed, she answered. Gu Huai’an’s voice came from the line, “Qingxin, have you spoken to Beiming Han about the issue I raised last time? What’s his attitude?”

“Has Gu Yunci’s prosthetic nose been fixed?” Gu Qingxin retorted.

There was silence on the other end.

“It’s not that I don’t want to tell him, but even if I did, would Beiming Han be interested in a woman with a crooked nose? I doubt it,” she challenged.

“You should be focusing on fixing her nose as soon as possible. Once that’s done, then come find me,” Gu Qingxin proposed, buying herself some time.

She was so frustrated she wanted to bash her head against a wall. Within six months, she had lost or broken three or four phones!

Lian Qingruo brought her a cup of coffee before rushing off to attend to other duties.

Gu Qingxin watched the clock on the wall. It was after twelve already. She had only taken a couple of bites of a sandwich in the morning and was now so hungry she felt her stomach touching her back.

Upon seeing her, Long Xuxu sniggered disdainfully, turned haughtily and, tottering on her ten centimeter heels, left.

“Miss Gu, the president says you can go in,” said Lian Qingruo, heading towards her.

Gu Qingxin no longer had the heart to pay attention to Long Xuxu. She walked into the president’s office, which was empty.

Gu Qingxin walked over and took a seat on the office couch, placing her bag next to her.

The door to the rest room swung open as Beiming Han walked out, in the process of tying his tie. Seeing her there, he called out to her, “Come over.”
