Chapter 23
Chapter 23: Robus’ Rematch (2)
Once the brawl started between the two full-body armored gorillas, the air started shaking as loud voices of two dull surfaces clashed hard against each other again and again were heard throughout the area where the two gorillas were currently fighting each other.
And the spectator who got the best, VIP seat to watch the fight was currently watching the exchange of fists with awe as he saw how the black-armored gorilla completely dominates the brown-armored gorilla.
Not only was Robus’ attacks hitting the brown armored gorilla more often, but he was also quick on his feet, enabling him to reposition himself in the most effective way with considerably fewer movements compared to his opponent. And just a few minutes after the fight started, Robus had finally succeeded in getting in a square hit right in the middle of his opponent’s chest with a full-powered punch.
And there was no way for Blake to miss it since the moment Robus’ armored fist hit the brown armored gorilla’s chest, a distinctive crack that was heard very clearly even from 20 meters away resounded from the brown armored gorilla’s chest.
From that far away, Blake might have not seen what had happened that caused such a loud crack to happen, but for Robus, the one that caused the crack to happen, was way beyond thrilled when he saw the large crack on his opponent’s brown-colored earth armor while his armor didn’t even have a single chip on them.
But Robus didn’t have the time to marvel at the amazingness of his own armor for now as he realized the large crack that he made also meant a new weak spot had now appeared in the brown gorilla’s armor beside its face.
Robus quickly made his decision and released a barrage of punches toward the brown armored gorilla that was momentarily stunned because it had never expected that it would ever hear such a sound coming from its never defeated armor.
.....
And the price that it has to pay for that split second of being distracted was huge. A winded and well-timed uppercut came from Robus’ fist, hitting the dazed brown armored gorilla straight on its chin, throwing its neck backward and its face up, opening even more gaps in its defense, which, of course, Robus took advantage of to hit even more of the brown armored gorilla’s chest as hard as he could to spread the crack even more.
More cracking sound was heard from Blake’s watching spot as Robus pounded the brown armored gorilla’s chest with his full strength a couple of times before the brown armored gorilla finally regained its balance and jumped backward to get away from Robus’ barrage of attacks.
But Robus didn’t let the brown armored gorilla back away just like that, as Robus followed after the brown armored gorilla and jumped forward with his right fist ready to launch another attack. But instead of a fist, this time, Borus’ hand was in a claw-like shape as if he wanted to rip the brown armored gorilla’s face off of its skull.
And Blake would have certainly thought so if not for the fact that Robus quickly proved his guess wrong by throwing the claw-like hand, not at the brown armored gorilla’s face, but instead its chest, particularly at the brown earth armor that was barely holding onto each other with countless cracks already spreading all over its chest.
The moment Robus’ claw-like hand reached the brown armored gorilla’s chest Robus thrust his claw hand further forward as if trying to pierce through the tough armor made out of rocks. However, with the momentum of his body jumping forward, the rotation of his hips, the muscles packed on his shoulder and arm, and the dark earth armor that was much sturdier than the earth armor that the other gorilla was wearing, Robus had actually succeeded in burying his fingers in between the rock armor.
But he wasn’t done with his attack. With his fingers buried within the brown gorilla’s rock armor, Robus started closing in the grip of his claw-like fingers as hard as he could as he grabbed the rock armor with his hand firmly before pulling his hand back as hard as he could.
*CRACK!!!*
An ear-splitting crack, much louder than the ones that Blake had heard so far, resounded in the area as Robus raised its right hand, showing off the broken-off part of the brown gorilla’s rock armor that he had torn down using his own two hands as he released a thunderous roar right in front of the brown armored gorilla’s face that was now frozen both in shock and fear.
And from that moment on, the fight was basically over as it turned into a one-sided beat down. It shouldn’t have turned out that way because although the power difference between the two was significant, it wasn’t big enough for Robus to literally only use one hand to slap the brown-armored gorilla’s face to stop its last-ditch attack.
But why did it still turn out that way for the brown-armored gorilla? It was because the seed of worry in its heart had fully bloomed with fear as its roots, growing strong inside the gorilla’s mind.
It had never been defeated before with its high affinity for the earth elements and its sturdy earth armor. And even though it had realized that it was losing in terms of strength, speed, and reflexes to the black-armored gorilla, it still had its confidence being held up by the earth armor that it was wearing. It had never failed it before, so it had its full trust in the armor.
However, after Robus went and literally tore the armor apart, the armor wasn’t the only thing that was broken, the pillar of the brown armored gorilla’s strength and confidence had also broken along with the armor, resulting in the current situation where the brown armored gorilla was throwing empty punches in a desperate manner, which was more than a child’s play for Robus to completely dodge.
But Robus found out that he didn’t even need to dodge as he actually could just take the hit with his dark earth armor. With the darkness element reinforcing the rock armor to be able to absorb the force better, Robus only needed to put a little bit of strength in his feet and core muscle to prevent his body from budging even though the brown armored gorilla’s fist had hit him squarely on his chest.
Realizing the situation of the fight, Blake had long gone from his spectator’s seat as he went straight into the nearest tree branch from where the two gorilla’s fought as he sensed no threat coming from the brown armored gorilla.
Sensing Blake had already gotten near him, Robus decided to finally end the fight for real. And it doesn’t take a lot of effort for him to do it.
One clear headbutt to the brown gorilla’s face before one full-powered punch to its chest that already lost the earth armor’s protection was more than enough for Blake to hear another crack, this time from the other gorilla’s chest as its sternum caved in on itself and punctured its lungs before the huge gorilla’s body fell backward with a very loud thud that shook the ground near it.
Robus then slowly walked over to the fallen gorilla, and when he was right beside the gorilla, Robus stared at the gorilla before raising one of his feet.
‘Is he finally going to take his revenge and return the same humiliation that it gave him earlier?’ Blake thought to himself as he observed everything that Robus was about to do with both of his eyes wide open.
He wondered how it would feel for him if he was in Robus’ position and he was able to do that to his bullies. Well, he could actually do that with his current understanding of the nether, and with his newly created original skill, even if he rounded up all the bullies from his grade school to his high school, he would still be able to finish them all in one swoop with hundreds of darkness tendrils.
But contrary to his belief, Robus didn’t kick the gorilla’s face repeatedly nor did he spit on it, instead, Robus just stomped his foot as hard as he could on the gorilla’s already sunken chest, destroying whatever organs under its chest into a pulp. And soon, the soul orb of the other gorilla appeared out of its body.
Seeing this, Blake tilted his head in confusion and asked, “Why did you not kick it and humiliate it first like what it had done to you before?”
“Rrrr.” (This thing is too weak, it’s not worth it to waste my energy on this little weak monkey who can’t even scratch my knuckles.)
