Deep Sea Fish Hunting Specialty Broadcast

Chapter 7

“…What?”

Yuna received a text and furrowed her brow.

It wasn’t that she felt bad; she was just a bit dumbfounded.

The message from Parang had a rather intriguing angle to it.

To summarize, it was a request for Yuna to promote her broadcast during Yuna’s own stream—a request that was the pinnacle of inconveniences.

But if you looked at the details? It was very logical and neat, with no room for rebuttal.

Were the deep-sea monsters actually dangerous? Yes. Yuna almost died.

Is it right to inform others about the dangers of deep-sea monsters? Absolutely.

The best way to inform? Show them directly how terrifying those creatures are.

Who can do that? The Yu Parang Hunter is nearly the only one.

In today’s world, what do people enjoy most? Internet broadcasts.

Who can pour viewers into Parang’s stream like candy? Yuna.

That was the essence of Parang’s argument.

Every event and the following claims and evidence fit perfectly together.

It was even a request from the person who saved her life.

Honestly, Yuna had no choice but to oblige.

Especially since it was a broadcast where she would personally hunt unidentified monsters in the deep sea while explaining it.

There was no way it wouldn’t spark excitement unless it was incredibly dull.

And to top it off, Parang was above average in hosting skills. Didn’t they manage smooth progress without relying on chat interaction, just with their own monologue?

“Hmm…”

Still, there was a troubling aspect. More equipment would be needed for broadcasting, and even with promotion, the turnout might be small.

Wait.

“Am I really worrying about this? Me?”

Yuna muttered to herself.

Am I hesitating to help someone who saved my life?

That was absolutely unacceptable. It wasn’t even like they were asking for her entire broadcast; they just wanted a shoutout.

Her pride took a little hit. She felt a little ashamed at how she was acting. Yuna, who has always upheld human decency despite her reckless ways.

She immediately grabbed her phone and began typing like mad.

[ Hello, Yu Parang Hunter. I completely agree with the need for the broadcast you suggested. Therefore, I think it would be great to… do it in my future stream. ]

After finishing the text, Yuna thought for a moment, stroking her chin. After all, she owed her a favor, and just giving a quick shoutout (which was more than just a shoutout) felt too insincere.

Just giving a shoutout wouldn’t do justice to Yuna’s name. She immediately started composing a lengthy message, thinking about what more she could offer…

“Oh.”

[ Additionally, if you’re okay with it, I would like to provide you with broadcasting equipment that I made myself. The items I can provide include a microphone, camera… If you need additional items, let me know… ]

This was only fair to repay the favor. S-rank crafting hunter Shin Yuna pressed the send button with a satisfied expression.

Not long after, a reply came.

[ Thank you. It seems we can proceed as you mentioned. ]

Thus, a secret agreement was made between S-rank crafting hunter and the strongest underwater hunter on Earth.

Yuna immediately sent mail to the crafting hunters she knew. 10 A ranks, and 3 S ranks. All of them were very close friends.

“Hello? Yeah, it’s me. So, that…”

Since she was at it, she wanted to turn South Korea upside down, even if the world wouldn’t know about it.

When would she ever get saved in her life again?

A week later, on July 10th, a notice was posted on Shin Yuna’s channel.

[ (7/10 Channel Notice) Event Announcement – A-rank Artifact, Shin Yuna is handing it out! ]

[ Hello, everyone, this is Streaming Hunter Shin Yuna. I wanted to inform you that, following the incident during my previous underwater content, I have… collaborated with Yu Parang Hunter.

… Therefore, after watching Yu Parang’s broadcast on July 27th from start to finish, we will hold a lottery for the first ten people who verify their attendance, granting them A-rank artifacts crafted by me.

*You can choose the type of artifact.
*For details, please contact [email protected]. ]

And all the hunters in South Korea flipped out.

[ Holy crap, did you guys see Shin Yuna’s announcement? ]

Wait, they’re giving out A-rank artifacts? Even an S-rank crafter? Is this for real?

– They’re giving out 10 A-rank artifacts just for watching a stream?

– Who is this person?

ㄴ Shin Yuna, S-rank crafting hunter who does broadcasts.

ㄴ Who’s this Yu Parang?

ㄴ The person who saved her during the broadcast accident.

ㄴ What accident?

ㄴ They were deep-sea diving and almost sank.

ㄴ ?? What the hell?

– Wow, they’re just giving out A-ranks ㅋㅋ just not equipment but artifacts lol

– You can choose the type for the artifacts. Isn’t it basically custom orders from an S-rank crafter? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

News spread like wildfire.

[ When you think about it, it’s truly a madness collection. ]

(Attached screenshot zooming in on the A-rank artifact part from the channel’s notice.)

A S-rank crafting hunter who saved someone’s life and asks, “Can you help promote my stream?”

And the other replies, “Oh, while we’re at it, how about I give away some artifacts?”

Both sound completely crazy.

– “How about I give away some artifacts?” <— This is true madness ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ - Ah, they saved their life ㅋㅋ - Knowing Shin Yuna's personality, she probably threw in an extra S-rank artifact behind the scenes. ‘Maybe just giving one feels a bit cheap.’ Yuna thought while scanning the community. S-rank artifacts had already been crafted by two S-rank hunters over a week and delivered to Yu Parang Hunter. Seeing as they used a lot of air harpoons when catching the monsters, they made an artifact shaped like a harpoon. After personally witnessing Parang's monster hunting for the broadcast on July 27th, she was convinced. ‘This is gonna work.’ Having cameras mounted on her forehead was chaotic and made it hard to grasp the situation, but… This was a project with 13 crafting hunters attached to it. They succeeded in assembling multiple cameras for real-time footage from various angles to create a view that resembled an FPS game. This was based on the principle of navigation combining footage from cameras installed around the vehicle to create a top-down view. Ultimately, the quality of the recorded video was phenomenal. It felt like playing a first-person game in real-time. And then, July 27th arrived. Thirteen crafting hunters, including Yuna, and the broadcast team's manager gathered at the control tower (Yuna’s house) and swallowed their nervous silence. [LIVE - (A-rank Artifact Event) Live Monster Hunting] Live viewers count: 130,472 130,000. 130,000 people were watching Parang's broadcast. “If we watch this, we really get A-rank artifacts?” People drawn in by the allure of A-rank artifacts. “Are we catching that thing we saw back then in the deep sea?” People attracted by the keyword of deep-sea hunting. “What is this broadcast that's drawing in 130,000 views?” People who naturally joined in. "It’s the host’s command! Increase the firepower!" Shin Yuna’s followers. All together, they made up the 130,000. One-thousandth of South Korea's population. So many people flocked to Parang's broadcast. The Silo Corporation’s super-server computer handled the load easily. And the first thing the 130,000 viewers encountered in Parang's broadcast was a shot of the sea from the dock. And at that moment, there was Parang, dressed in a bodysuit covering all her body below the neck and wielding a harpoon that was 1.5 times her height. With a crown on her head (which was also a camera), she looked almost like a princess from an underwater kingdom. There was even an air of grandeur about her. Like a warrior… And as everyone focused on her, Parang spoke up. “Hello, cough cough!! Hello, no, greetings, everyone. I am the Hunter Yu Parang.” “Eh?” Everyone watching the broadcast raised question marks above their heads in their respective spots. It felt like a very blatant red exclamation mark was above Parang's head. ‘Huff… huff…!!’ She was about to lose it from anxiety. Are 130,000 people really watching me right now? I hope my face isn’t red. I think I just stumbled a bit. Well, the more people, the better, but 130,000 is quite overwhelming. For someone like Parang, who had never broadcasted in her life, the pressure was immense. Parang looked at the screen in front of her. Her figure stood at the dock, with an astounding speed of chat messages flying up beside her. 13,000 people’s firepower. Though, in reality, maybe less than 30,000 were actively chatting, that’s still an incredibly large number. “I will actually give A-rank artifacts to ten lucky winners. After the broadcast, I will connect you to the verification site through a QR code that will be sent, and you just need to confirm that you've watched for more than two hours.” She rattled off her prepared lines with a quivering voice. And suddenly, there was a pause. For an entire 30 seconds. For 30 seconds, she was frozen in front of the camera, unable to speak. It would indeed qualify as a major broadcast disaster to have 130,000 viewers and not say anything while awkwardly stammering. However, watching all of this unfold in the control room, Yuna was wearing a relaxed expression. She had predicted this would happen and knew it would soon resolve. She already knew from the rehearsals. She was so stage-shy that she could get nervous even when filming alone in front of a camera. Yuna calmly observed the viewer count. 128,000. Even after such a fatal mistake, viewers weren't leaving. Why? Because of the artifacts. The hefty rewards they were offering were worth the risk. A-rank artifacts were worth the competition at a 13:10 ratio. And if that competition only required watching a broadcast, even better. Ten thousand were likely just playing the broadcast in the background while doing something else. The remaining 30,000 were definitely feeling the excitement cooling off like ice. But that didn’t matter. Her stage fright was strictly land-bound. She could catch at least 30,000, judging by those watching closely, not the other 100,000 distracted ones. An inexperienced broadcaster with 30,000 fixed viewers for her first show. A smirk crept onto her face. “If it gets too overwhelming, just jump into the water and carry on. That’ll be way better.”

Meanwhile, Parang remembered Yuna’s advice and finally snapped out of it.

‘Right. I’ll jump into the sea.’

That idea made her feel much more relaxed.

“Phew… I will explain the rest while going down.”

Parang backed up and, maintaining her stance, jumped backward, doing a backflip.

Her fingertips dove into the water without causing a single splash. It was a perfect dive.

Soon, the camera perspective shifted to her first-person view underwater.
