Dc: Start Female Superman

Chapter 22: Chapter 21

After a day of fun in Metropolis, as night approached, the three girls behaved sensibly and took the last train back

When they arrived at the station, their parents were waiting for them. The families knew each other through their children, and the parents chatted while they waited for the train.

Once out of the station, the three families said brief goodbyes and headed home. The three girls were traveling in Kara's family van, which, although a bit old, didn't seem to bother them much. During the ride, Kara excitedly told Jonathan about all the interesting things she had seen in Metropolis, as well as some personal experiences.

"I met an old sorcerer, and he gave me a magic book," Kara said openly, knowing that her adoptive parents were aware of even bigger secrets, like her true Kryptonian nature.

Jonathan, however, was concerned. "Sorcerer? Magic book? What kind of trouble have you gotten into this time?"

Kara rolled her eyes and replied innocently, "No, the sorcerer probably wants something from me, but he gave me some benefits in advance. It's nothing bad." Kara had foreseen the release of the Seven Deadly Sins and knew she would have to step in eventually.

Jonathan frowned. "What kind of magic book is it? You're not summoning demons, are you?"

"Of course not! I'm not stupid. It's a perfectly normal magic book. It talks about cultivating spiritual power and controlling elements, like fire," Kara explained as she raised her hand and snapped her fingers, a small flame appearing at her fingertips.

Jonathan glanced at her, unimpressed. "That looks more like a lighter," he commented before focusing on driving.

Kara, taken aback by the comment, extinguished the flame and leaned against the car door, watching the scenery blur past. Sensing her silence, Jonathan asked, "Are you thinking about moving to Metropolis after you finish school?"

Kara nodded. "It's a possibility. I don't want to spend my life in the countryside."

Jonathan wasn't offended. He knew she was just being honest. He could sense her hesitation, so he smiled and said, "Are you worried about us, your mother, or Clark?"

Kara scratched her head, a bit unsure. At fifteen, she still didn't know exactly what to do with her future. "I'm still in high school. I have time to figure things out. Maybe I'll go to college or get a job. We'll see."

Jonathan watched her with understanding, knowing that his adoptive daughter had a special destiny. But for now, Kara was just testing her limits and dreaming about what her future held.

Back at the farm, after three days of school break, Kara decided to spend her last day helping with the chores. Her Kryptonian strength and abilities made farm work much easier, and Jonathan was able to relax knowing she could handle almost anything.

On the fourth day, when it was time to go back to school, Kara got on the school bus and immediately noticed something was different. Many of the kids looked at her with fear, avoiding her gaze and whispering to each other. When she sat next to a boy, he quickly stood up and offered her the seat with a weak excuse, clearly uncomfortable.

Kara raised an eyebrow, surprised by everyone's behavior. She decided to ask the boy still sitting next to her, "What's going on? Why is everyone avoiding me?"

The boy, clearly nervous, replied in a low voice, "There's a rumor... that you killed someone. They say you gouged out their eyes and then burned their brain to ashes."

The atmosphere on the bus suddenly became tense. Some girls even looked nauseous, as if the mental image had made them sick with fear and disgust.

Kara rolled her eyes, frustrated. "What kind of image do you have of me? I'm not that ruthless. I'm cute! You should think of something better!"

The boy looked at her with fear but continued, "Well, on the first day of school, you beat up those thugs until they could barely walk..."

Kara sighed, remembering the incident. The thugs had tried to intimidate her, but she had given them a lesson they wouldn't forget. Still, it was surprising how much the rumors had gotten out of control.

There was a reason why they called her "the tyrant" at school.
