THE ROCKET ANGEL
Lucifer, now introduced to the newly arrived Bruce Banner, couldn't help but comment on the contrast between Bruce's mild-mannered appearance and the infamous reputation of the Hulk.
" you look nothing like those online pictures of a huge, green, angry man I've seen," Lucifer remarked, his expression curious.
Bruce chuckled, a hint of resignation in his tone. "That's because you're seeing me in my calm state. It's a different story when I get angry."
Lucifer's eyes gleamed with mischief as he pulled out his smartphone, "So, Doc, would you prefer a good slap on the face, or should I go for the classic insult to trigger the transformation? I've always wanted a selfie with the Hulk."
Tony Stark couldn't resist jumping in. "Well, I'd say the most likely outcome is that you and your phone would end up as Hulk pancakes. Not a pleasant way to go."
a momentary look of worry came across lucifer's face as he stared at his new smartphone, "Ah, in that case, I will wait for the transormation to be triggerd by someone else"
Bruce chuckled, appreciating the humor amid the tension. "I'll save you the trouble, Lucifer. Let's focus on the task at hand."
Captain America nodded in agreement. "Right. We have a location for the Tesseract and the sceptre,it seems loki is separated from it. Our priority is to retrieve the Tesseract and the scepter first then we shall find loki.
"Maybe Loki still has the scepter; it could be one of his tricks," Thor said, looking at Lucifer.
Lucifer nodded in agreement. "Well, either way, the scepter seems to be changing locations real fast. It's no longer in New York. I'd say it's on an airplane."
A stern silence followed lucifer's observation.
Then, Steve Rogers took charge again. "In that case, there's no need to split. Let us deal with the Tesseract first. I shall notify Nick at the base about the scepter, but we're not losing the cube this time. We'll get it at all costs."
He turned to look at Lucifer, Iron Man, and Thor. "You guys proceed to the location. Lucifer knows where. Bruce, Nat, and I will join you shortly."
Lucifer looked behind the Captain's back and saw the two motorcycles, one for the Hulk and the other for Captain America. Iron Man's suit had already come to life and was hovering several meters above them. Lucifer unfurled his white wings, causing Bruce Banner to stare in awe. He then turned to Natasha.
"It seems you're the only one without a transport. You can't ride two as it will slow you down. How about I give you a lift? I promise you'll enjoy."
Natasha was about to turn down the offer when Captain America stepped in, making a quick decision. "Great, that solves the dilemma. Meet you there, guys."
He rushed toward his motorcycle, and Bruce Banner followed shortly after, giving Lucifer a look that wasn't all that friendly, at least according to Lucifer's interpretation.
soon the two mortocycles had rumbled to life and dissapeared.
lucifer turned to see Thor, with his hammer in hand staring at him,
"We are waiting on you to lead the way mr. devil" Thor said
Lucifer extended a hand to Natasha with a charming grin. "Shall we, my dear?"
Natasha hesitated for a moment, then took his hand, accepting the unconventional offer. With a powerful leap, Lucifer's wings unfurled fully, and they lifted off the ground, leaving behind a gust of wind.
*******
Thor, Iron Man, and Lucifer soared through the city skyline.
Tony however couldn't help but be fascinated by Lucifer's unique abilities. He initiated a private communication channel with the others, still marveling at the sight of Lucifer's majestic wings in action.
"Thor, do you see what I see? I mean, look at him. He's like a rocket-propelled angel. I thought I had seen it all, but this is on a whole new level," Stark remarked.
Thor's deep voice responded with a touch of amusement. "Aye, he's unlike anything I've encountered."
Lucifer, flying slightly ahead of the others, overheard their conversation and couldn't resist joining in. "Oh, I'm flattered. Rocket-propelled angel does have a nice ring to it. I shall certainly consider the title Rocket Angle"
Iron Man chuckled at Lucifer's response, then continued with a more serious line of inquiry. "But let's talk about the serious stuff. Lucifer, what exactly are your abilities? I've seen strength and speed, and those wings, but how far does your bag of tricks go?"
Lucifer glanced back at Iron Man with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Ah, my dear Tony, it's not so much about tricks as it is about millennia of experience. You could say I have a few advantages up my sleeve—or under my wings. Speed, strength, durability, and the ability to heal faster than the average mortal. I've also got some cosmic awareness, a handy tool for tracking objects of power, like the Tesseract and the scepter. As for the wings, well, they're not just for show. they've saved my hide more times than I can count."
Thor nodded "and he wields them with finesse."
Iron Man's curiosity didn't seem to be satisfied. " ooh!,and is God your actual freaking father ?"
"Not now, Tony. Let's not delve into family matters at the moment. We have a mission to focus on."
Iron Man quickly picked up on the change in Lucifer's demeanor and realized he had touched on a sensitive subject. "Alright, alright, we'll save that conversation for another time. We've got a world to save first."
*********
Natasha held on tightly to Lucifer, her face pressed against his chest to shield herself from the rushing gusts of wind. She found herself in a state of unexpected serenity.
The rhythmic beating of Lucifer's heart, steady and comforting, seemed to have a hypnotic effect on her.
In her storied life as a spy and assassin, Natasha had encountered her fair share of extraordinary situations, but nothing could have prepared her for this.
Flying through the sky with Lucifer felt like a dream and a paradox, an encounter with an angelic presence that defied the conventions of the devil she had heard about in religious stories.
Lucifer's appearance only added to the mystery. Far from the horned and menacing figure often depicted, he was devilishly handsome, with a charisma that seemed to effortlessly influence everyone around him.
Natasha had always prided herself on her ironclad emotional control, honed through years of rigorous training, but in the presence of Lucifer, she felt her own emotional fortitude unraveling.
She couldn't deny that she had experienced a jumble of emotions and sensations when near this stranger.
His close scrutiny, even the subtlest of glances, had a disarming effect, something she had rarely encountered before. When his eyes briefly roamed over her chest, it didn't escape her notice. As the Black Widow, very little evaded her discerning gaze, and she had tried to react with hostility, a reflex to protect herself when she felt vulnerable. But the truth was, she found herself inexplicably drawn to Lucifer's presence.
And when his gaze met hers, even for that split second, Natasha felt a sensation she had long avoided.
In that exhilarating moment, she allowed herself to wonder how it would feel to stay in this surreal embrace forever, to continue listening to the soothing rhythm of Lucifer's heart and forget about the world far below.
The rush of the wind and the thrill of their mission faded into the background as she let herself get lost in this extraordinary experience.
