Chapter 25: Chapter 25
{Bonus chapter for 300 powerstones.}
"You seem to be lost in thought," Harley said sitting on my lap and wrapping her hands around me. I just nodded my head at her actions, my mind racing with the options before me.
I didn't outright accept Dream's offer, I wanted to think about this. Would I allow Hope to chain me in the hopes of complete freedom? This opened the door for more questions, how far was I willing to go for the freedom I so seek?
How should I act now knowing that without Dream I had no dreams or motive to act? That was a chain that could lead me to be controlled by the guy. I didn't know what I wanted, so after some thought, I spoke.
"Let's go to hell," I said, drawing everyone's attention, Darkseid's daughter who was named Grail looked towards me with a deep frown.
"Should we?" Slade asked, as from Grail's information he wasn't so sure about going to hell.
"It's not the one in the sphere of the gods, but the one in this universe," I said lazily, and to that Grail nodded as she saw no problem with this. So long as we were not going to make Lucifer our enemies, she saw no problems with this.
"Why?" Raven asked with a frown, ever since she gained a balanced mind, she was able to show more emotions. Although she could have left a long ago as she was stronger than her father now, she chose to stay to keep all of us in check.
"I went to heaven, but I never went to hell, that doesn't sound right. Plus, I want to speak with Lucifer." I said lightly,
"A road trip?" Harley asked in joy, to which I nodded. Harley jumped off my lap and ran off to start packing... she came back with a bat in hand,
"Well, let's go," Trigon said and to that, I teleported everyone to the gates of hell. There were infinite levels of hell, Trigon called one of these levels home, while the lowest level was home to Lucifer. Lucifer was pretty much the god of hell, but to see him I had to go to the lowest level, where we all appeared before a gate.
I knocked on the gate, and after some time the doors opened. We were allowed to enter and walked towards the castle in the center. It would take a normal human an infinite upon infinite amount of years to reach the center, so I pulled everyone with me as we shot forward.
'Is this the 9th set of infinity?' I thought seeing how this level of hell, or should I say this dimension of hell was grander than infinity. I looked at the sea of demons, all looking like monsters. Some tried to attack us, but Grail killed them all with her omega beams which locked onto the enemy, piercing through the sea of demons and those even thought of attacking us.
Upon arriving at the center, we found a city, and before we could even knock, the gates to the city opened on their own and there we saw a sea of demons. Many of which were around Trigon's level of power, although weaker.
As we walked forward, they moved, creating a path for us to walk, and headed towards the castle where a handsome wild-looking young man was waiting for us. This was Lucifer's avatar, which took on more of Lucifer more sadistic side seeing the tortured souls all over the castles.
"Welcome to hell," Lucifer said with a smile, welcoming us to take a seat.
"Like any drinks?" Lucifer asked to which I shook my head, and to that, he shrugged while drinking some blood-red wine.
"So, what do you want in hell?" Lucifer asked with a smile.
"Dream told me that you tried to escape your father's grand plan... I seek freedom from all of the endless, and your father... well, I came to hear your ideals on freedom," I said lightly, and this stunned everyone. Lucifer's smile couldn't help but freeze, looking at me for some time, before his hair slowly turned blonde.
"Go on." His tone, voice, and aura about him completely changed. I looked at him for some time, realizing this was the real Lucifer I was facing. Someone capable of killing a dream with a simple thought... a part of me was scared. My instincts told me to flee for this wasn't something I could adapt or hope to evolve to face... but I forcefully adapted, growing immune to such fears.
"How can you gain freedom if everything that could happen is written down? Isn't the only way for you to gain freedom if even possible, is if your father allows it? At that point, would be it true freedom if he could just have the chains of fate bind you once more?" I asked lightly, causing Lucifer's eyebrow to raise.
"If there is truly an all-powerful and all-knowing being... a boundless existence, how are you to face such a lifeform... that's even more so you need Dream if you hope to ever do it, and Dream can just be considered another chain. Do you willingly chain yourself down by your father's creation for the hope of breaking free, or should one keep pushing themselves to evolve to break free?" I asked lightly,
"You're an odd one," Lucifer said lightly as a blood-red cup of wine appeared in his hand, replacing the drink that was in his hands moments ago, which he lightly played with, going over my words.
"The question you ask is... well, I don't have an answer to it. To deal with Dream, I would just kill him. I created most of the endless." Lucifer said calmly, leaving me stunned. Lucifer along with Michael shaped creation, they are the shapers of this world.
"I know the right move is to accept and work with Dream, but I can't ignore the fact there is a weakness before me. I'm nothing without Dreams... the same for Destiny and Desires. If they leave me alone, what am I? I would disappear..." I said lightly, for Destiny Of the Endless was the embodiment of fate. If he for some reason erased my name from the book of Destiny, I shall disappear never to be seen.
"True..." Lucifer said while sizing me up for some time.
"You're rushing things, don't worry about the future and worry about the now," Lucifer said with a calm smile, his eyes filled with schemes I couldn't hope of breaking down.
"You had such a quick growth to power, you don't know how to take things slowly... You're still learning what just freedom means, and don't even know how to reach your goal... then again, I also don't know the path to reach my goal." Lucifer said as a key appeared in his hands, shocking Trigon as that's the key to hell. Lucifer threw the key to me, leaving me stunned.
"What's this?" I asked in confusion,
"That's the key to hell. I have been thinking of leaving hell for some time now, I was going to give the key to Dream and make him deal with the trouble of dealing with hell, but I will just give it to you. Do with it as you wish." Lucifer said with a relaxed smile, leaving me speechless.
"Mind helping me cut off my wings?" Lucifer asked, his beautiful white wings appearing before me.
"Why?" I asked in interest,
"I am not what my Father made me. I am what I make me." He said with a smile, causing my eyes to widen for a moment. I looked at Lucifer, having no words to say to such a man... this was the first man I think I have ever truly respected.
"This will greatly weaken me, but this would be a start to my journey," Lucifer said while throwing me a blade, which I took and went on to cut his wings off. I could tell this was painful, but Lucifer didn't even flinch.
'I wonder where his strength fell to, is he still stronger than Dream?' I thought while looking at Lucifer who was closing and opening his palm, adapting to the lack of power. He didn't lose all his power, he was just in a weakened state right now.
"Well, I will keep those wings with you," Lucifer said before disappearing, leaving me just standing there, not knowing what to do... but in the end, I had to go to the Sphere of the gods.
"Wow," I said feeling the buff of power I got from sitting on the throne of hell, I was like a god, all-seeing and all-knowing down here in hell... but I had to look away, disgusted by the evil these demons were doing to the dammed souls.
"So, you're the new lord of hell?" The Lords of hell all gathered, an infinite number of them, all of them ruling over the infinite levels of hell.
"So, you're going to fight me for the key?" I asked my voice calm and edged with amusement. A relaxed smile tugged at my lips as the demons grinned back, their eyes glinting with the thrill of impending battle. How could they not? Before them, Lucifer's Wings rested in Deathstroke's hands, radiating unholy power.
They lunged as one, a surge of malice and hunger. I stood unmoved, smirking as I reached up and tore a strand of hair from my arm. With a casual flick, I tossed it into the air.
The moment the hair left my fingers, the atmosphere changed. The strand fractured midair, exploding into countless glowing shards. Each shard trembled, pulsing with unnatural energy, before shifting and growing, their forms twisting like molten shadows.
In seconds, the battlefield was filled with towering figures, each shard now reflecting the waves of demons in front of me, but something was different about these demons. These were their ultimate forms, perfected and monstrous, exuding an overwhelming presence that seemed to darken the very skies. The demons faltered for a heartbeat, their grins fading as they realized what they faced.
"W-what?" The lords of hell couldn't react in time as they found their better version appearing before them, beating them black and blue. In seconds, all of the demons were on the ground... and that's how I became the lord of hell.
To ensure my rule was unquestioned, I even created clones of every demon across every level of hell, showing that although I was weaker than Lucifer, that didn't mean they were near my strength.
Anyway, I left Trigon to rule on my behalf while I returned back to Earth where I went on to get ready to mount Lucifer's wings. While this was happening, Raven stepped away to report everything to the Justice League, since Vixen wasn't here she took the role of a spy... so, it didn't take long for Batman to arrive, joined by Wonder Woman, Dr Fate, Zatanna, Zatara, and John.
"You know, I don't need you all to welcome me back to earth every time I return, you have superhero business to get to and stuff," I said lightly while straightening the wings, ensuring they would be perfect when mounted.
"So it's true... Hell is now your domain?" John said in shock seeing Lucifer's wings, honestly, Lucifer scared John. John made sure to stay as far away from Lucifer as much as possible, and now he was seeing the devil's wings getting ready to be mounted to a wall...
