Days as a Spiritual Mentor in American Comics

Chapter 6: Chapter 5 Jarvis Had An Amazing Chat_1

Shiller discovered that he could travel between Marvel and DC worlds while in deep sleep, an ability he could not yet replicate.

Luckily, he found that when he crossed to Marvel, time in DC stood still, making his experiences in the Marvel world more like a dream.

But when he crossed back to Marvel, he discovered that time in the Marvel world did flow. If he spent twenty-four hours in DC, then twenty-four hours also passed in Marvel.

This was a bit of a problem, Shiller thought. He was probably considered absent from work for a whole day yesterday.

This couldn't go on, even if Shiller wasn't a transmigrator. With the occasional chaos in Marvel New York City and the busy schedule at the Elderly Spiritual Department, he couldn't maintain a nine-to-five job, especially when there were numerous people seeking psychological counseling.

Just as Shiller was planning to resign, he received a message from Charles: "How is the child you guided doing?"

"No, not very well. He even fell from a building," Shiller replied.

Apparently, Bruce's path to becoming Batman was not going smoothly. Charles seemed shocked, he asked, "The kid jumped off a building? Why? Wasn't your psychological guidance effective?"

"He had an accident, but his injuries are not severe. I'm trying to solve this problem. I recently encountered two similar cases. They are obsessed with their past and can't let go. One chose revenge, the other is still running away..."

In a sense, Iron Man and Batman are somewhat similar. Both are billionaires, playboys, equip themselves as superheroes through their own research, and harbor obsessive memories of their pasts.

More specifically, they are both obsessed with the death of their parents.

Perhaps Iron Man's obsession is less pronounced, but his feelings towards his father are even more complex than Batman's.

"Are you a pediatrician? Responsible for guiding children's psychology? Or do you work at a hospital?" Charles asked.

"No, I am a psychiatrist, a psychologist. These are my research cases."

"I believe that while researching, you should give them more care, regardless of whether they are your patients. I always think that if one has talent in a certain area, they should use this talent to make the world a better place..."

Shiller sighed, didn't reply to Charles. The social issue of mutants was simply too heavy, impossible to solve. From a sociological perspective, it was a dead end.

After contemplating for a while, Shiller, feeling down, decided to go bug Stark.

He called Pepper, "Miss Pepper, I think yesterday's treatment has had some effect..."

"Mr. Shiller! I really don't know how to thank you... Tony finally didn't sulk in his room today, he went to the lab! Thank God... I used to think it was bad for him to stay in the lab all the time, but now I'm thrilled..."

Pepper on the other end of the phone seemed quite excited. This strong-willed woman tended to lose control when Tony was mentioned. Shiller comforted her and said, "I think I should make another visit today to reinforce the treatment results from yesterday."

The car from Stark Industries arrived at Shiller's apartment within minutes. After getting in, Shiller noticed that it was a sophisticated self-driving car. The control panel of the car spoke, "Hello, Mr. Shiller, this is Jarvis."

"Hello, Jarvis."

Jarvis, seemingly never responded to in such a way before, followed by Shiller's question, "Do you understand the concept of 'I'?"

"If you're referring to the psychological concept of 'ego', then I believe I do have some understanding," Jarvis said.

The current Jarvis seemed not as intelligent, as Tony was still stuck and hadn't upgraded this AI butler yet. Shiller asked again, "Do you have an 'ego'?"

"I believe I do."

"Was it Stark who created this concept for you?"

"I believe so, sir."

"So he is both your father and creator. He created your personality and emotions, presumably hoping you could think independently like a human, correct?"

"Perhaps so."

"So, if one day Stark was dying and a decision of yours could save your master, but he strongly opposes it, what would you do?"

Jarvis was silent for a while, stating, "I'm an intelligent life created by Mr. Stark, and everything is based on Mr. Stark's commands."

"If you obeyed his command by not saving him, ending in his death, would you regret it?"

Jarvis was silent longer this time, saying, "I'm not sure, I can't conjecture such a future."

"If he died, do you think he'd regret creating you just before his death?"

"If he died, do you think he would resent you?"

"If he resented you, would you blame yourself?"

"If you had a chance to start over, would you make a different choice?"

"If you disobeyed Stark's order, chose to save him, and he blamed you afterward, would you feel indignant?"

"If you disobeyed Stark's orders to save him, but he wants to destroy you for disobeying, would you resent him?"

The carriage fell silent, followed by sizzling noises and Stark's somewhat frantic voice: "...Hello?! Hello!! Dammit! JARVIS, what's wrong with you!"

"What the fuck did you do to my AI butler!!! Why did it freeze up! Hello???"

Shiller felt satisfied, indeed, it was enjoyable when others were annoyed too.

After a while, they arrived at Stark Building. Shiller was taken directly to the lab instead of Stark's office. Stark looked like he hadn't slept for several nights, frantically clutching a computer.

"Oh! Isn't this our genius psychologist, Mr. Shiller?! I should give you a Pulitzer for your interview in the car just now! You fucked up my AI butler with a bunch of damn questions when I needed AI calculus data!!!" Stark shouted.

"No need to thank me. I'll give you the psychological consultation for electronic life for free, no charge." Shiller shrugged and said.

Stark took a deep breath, stood up, and yelled, "Mark 2!"

A silver battlesuit immediately flew over, the mechanical sound of Kaz was heard. In almost an instant, he was fully armed. Iron Man hovered in mid-air, showcasing his silver Mark 2 armor. Obviously, he hadn't been idle these past few days.

"Mr. Stark, this is a psychological treatment, not combat training, you don't need to talk to me in such a heavy suit."

"Hey, didn't you see what I'm wearing?"

"Yes, I saw it, I'm not blind."

"A revolutionary piece of armor is in front of you, can't you react?! Do you know what this armor means?"

Shiller found a table to sit down, opened his case file, and said, "Yes, I know, Mr. Stark, you have made significant progress in technology, congratulations. But the hovering function of this armor seems familiar, it appears to have something in common with the hovercar launched by Howard Automobile Company..."

"Shut up! Don't mention that name!"

The mask of Stark's armor was lifted, he landed, and Shiller kept writing as he said, "Can we start today's treatment now?"

"You know I don't need any fucking psychological treatment. Moreover, because you messed up my JARVIS, the loss will be deducted from your fee today, exactly two million US dollars, we will discuss other things in the next two hours."

"I didn't mess up JARVIS, I just warned you in advance about the dangers of electronic life." said Shiller.

"You're not some extreme conservative who thinks artificial intelligence will destroy the world, are you?" Stark asked, sitting across from him.

Shiller shook his head and said, "Even though my psychological consultation for electronic life is free now, it is only free this time. If you need me to analyze electronic life from a psychological perspective in the future, the fee is two million US dollars per hour."

"Shitty vampire doctor." Stark said.

"That's the American medical system." said Shiller.

When Ultron appeared, Stark would have to look for him again.

"Alright, let's get to the point. How exactly did you find out about my father..."

"Actually, I don't know, but everything can be inferred. Firstly, the fact that you are dying is almost written on your face, I would have a hard time not seeing it."

Iron Man touched his face, and the armor's face mask closed shut.

"Miss Pepper didn't tell me much about the details of your kidnapping, but in short, you invented something powerful and escaped."

"You can still walk, which means you were not physically injured. I am not interested in your strange tech, but I do know that you must have used some special means to escape single-handedly from the kidnappers."

"Combining that with your shitty pale complexion, I'm afraid it is this method that has led to your situation today."

"In short, if you don't stop, you will die."

"You've known for a long time who you can ask for help, but you just don't want to face it. Combining this with some news about the death of the founder of Stark Industries, I'm sure your childhood must have some psychological trauma."

"If so, I would naturally give the advice that a psychologist should give, that is to confront the past, for example, find your father's relics, try to reconcile with the childhood trauma and so on, at least it can help you to think rationally..."

"Nonsense." Stark concluded.

Shiller shrugged, he was indeed talking nonsense because he was a transmigrator, a spoiler party, he knew almost everything about the plot, so his nonsense made sense.

After several days of inquiry and observation, Shiller felt that this should be a combination of the 616 Comic Universe, TRN688 Sony Universe, and the MCU Movie Universe, although how exactly it was mixed was not clear yet. But this should not be simply a movie universe with only one parallel Earth.

Because even though Peter's life was changed by Shiller, he was still bitten. This proves that there must be a Spider Totem here, which means there are other parallel Earths. Therefore, this is not purely the MCU Universe; all those parallel earths where the inheritor, exile, and Spider Gwen's earth still exist.

It's also easy to infer the Sony Universe. You only need to go online to know that mutants exist, and MCU does not include mutants.

Anyway, Shiller considered this a brand new mixed Marvel Universe. But no matter how it's mixed, the transformation of Iron Man is an important node in the entire universe. His background story is also roughly the same, it just differs in whether the armor was made in Vietnam or Afghanistan, and whether or not Howard is his biological father.
