Preparation
(3rd person POV)
There was a small mini-denatus meeting the next day to make things official and set the "prizes" for both sides if they won.
"Upon my victory I shall take possession of Bell Cranel as well as a single night of intimacy with Hestia." Apollo said with a lustful look.
Hestia scowled "If we win I want all of his familia's assets, the disbandment of his familia permanently and the exile of Apollo from Orario." she said firmly and even Apollo who was confident in his victory flinched slightly at the conditions as they were very vicious.
At first glance they seemed like a forced reset outside of Orario but the key here was that he won't be allowed to recreate his familia if he lost as she added the word permanent to the disbandment. This meant he couldn't rely on his familia to earn money and would have only his own work to rely on which was a horrible fate for a person such as himself. More likely than not he'd cave to the circumstances and depart back to heaven of which there was no coming back from unlike if he was killed.-
"The form of the game is a siege with the Apollo familia on defense and the Hestia family on offense. The time is in six days at noon and will last a total of a three day maximum that if the Hestia familia fails to capture the flag within is grounds for automatic loss. Are there any rules to be implemented in addition?" Hermes who like always was the neutral party asked.
"She's not allowed to receive any outside help." Apollo said with a smug look like he had trapped Hestia.
"That's fine since I don't need it. Apply the same rule to him as well." Hestia said calmly but Apollo scoffed.
"My familia outnumbers yours a hundred to three and you don't even have a single level three, just admit that you have no chance of winning already." he said mockingly.
"Is that everything?" Hestia asked Hermes while ignoring Apollo.
"All that is left is to gather in six days at noon to witness the war game begin." Hermes said with a nod and Hestia nodded before leaving confidently.
(Normal POV)
Once Hestia returned from the meeting it was time to prepare for the war game and I had some ideas in mind.
The first of which involved me making a quick trip to the dungeon to collect some materials. Specifically I needed to collect Crystal mantis, War shadow and Wyvern parts. In addition to this I had to use my only level two cursed stone. The final product was bound to catch people off guard on the day of the war game. With that little surprise done with I moved on to my next bit of preparation. For this I used some of my Wyvern scales and leather to craft a pair of armored boots with little Wyvern wings on either side of the ankle and a cursed stone imbedded in the heels.-
Once that was done I imbued the boots with a single technique and a bunch of restrictions to increase the final results power. The technique I chose was [Air step] or the ability to pay a small amount of energy to create a temporary platform of solid air under your feet that you could kick off of. I wasn't capable of making a tool that allowed for flight yet but this was the next best thing if used correctly.-
This pair of boots wasn't for me though but rather Bell who's style of combat was well suited to it. They would also dramatically increase his threat level as unlike most people who are effectively unable to change trajectory mid air Bell won't have any such issue. I did of course test the boots before I gave them to Bell and I was pleased with their performance. Each boot had exactly three uses before needing a cooldown of a minute to reset. This meant in total Bell could make six mid air redirections before getting grounded for the next minute.-
If he timed it right he could make this more usable by only using three charges on one boot before using the other boots charges during the minute the other boot was resetting, effectively giving him near infinite redirections. Bell looked at the boots with stars in his eyes when I gave them to him and told him what they did and how to use them. Lili looked jealous but I assured her that I had something special planned for her as well. I did too as her magic [Cinder Ella] that let her transform into anything about the same size as her had uses that only someone as unhinged as me could possibly think of.-
For example what if she turned her skin into Orichalcum? Her magic was transfiguration based so why couldn't she transform her body into a different material temporarily? The answer I found from asking was that her magic could do it but it was flawed and broke if she was hit. So naturally I wanted to "fix" her magic and make it so she could actually turn into a different material. To achieve this I needed her help so I could sync up the item I made to her magic so she didn't kill herself by ACTUALLY turning into a her-shaped statue of Orichalcum.-
The goal was to give her all the benefits of being made of the material without any of the downsides like immovability. The final product used her magic as a base and allowed her to very temporarily transform her entire body into another material without negatively effecting her at all. It was a simple band ring that I named[Midnights lament]. As we discovered she got a massive buff when she transformed into Orichalcum or any material really just that that one had the biggest impact.-
Apparently by transforming like this her body began many times heavier and denser which meant if she could muster the strength to throw a punch she hit WAY harder than normally. She was also very difficult to injure as her durability became like that of whatever she turned into. The biggest downside was that she simply didn't have the stats to support this transformation for long. She was level two sure but she had leveled up as soon as she could and was still at I rank in her stats so naturally her mana and physical strength were terrible.-
She had a limit of about two minutes transformed before the cost was too high and she changed back to normal drained and exhausted. Despite this she thanked me profusely for the ring that meant she was no longer powerless to fight back or to drag Bell and Welf down in combat. Quite the opposite in fact as if she used it right she could act the role of tank for them and if she raised her stats high enough from now on maybe even as a frontline fighter.
