Chapter 77: Planeswalker Envoy

Hiro's eyes glimmered and he kicked up the gear a notch.

He wanted to change his style of speech and say, "We appreciate your enthusiasm."

This would be the tone of someone who represented not just a ruler or a royal family, but an entire empire.

However, this wasn't a suitable perspective in this context, so Hiro decided to hold back until Asmir grew tired of using the current figure of speech.

However, Hiro apparently thought too much of it because Asmir was too embarrassed to speak like this to him after she just learned about it.

Thus, Asmir returned to her usual tone of speech, albeit temporarily.

Her tone had a hint of a smile as she said, "Haha, I was serious about the reward I've promised you, little guy."

Hiro remained silent for a moment because he didn't know what type of a reward he should ask for.

After thinking for a moment, he decided to ask for a private residence or a house to stay in. After all, he couldn't spend his days in the library in the future, right?

"That's all?" Asmir was surprised. "You only want a place to stay? That's not impossible."

Hiro coughed and added, "Can you give me an entire building? Preferably two floors or more, I will renovate the first floor for business."

Hiro thought about it and decided that his only way to earn more achievement points was to start working.

Having multiple jobs at once wouldn't be a problem, and according to how the system did things, each time he sold a beverage in his soon-to-be-opened bar should count as an achievement.

Since it was a legitimate job, there wouldn't be a cap limit of 300,000 points in the future, or so Hiro hoped because he had yet to reach that limit in a daily job.

Asmir was curious and asked, "Do you still need a job? Isn't working for me enough?"

Hiro explained, "How can I integrate into the common layers of your people and build an information network without creating a social hub? You know, demons let their secrets out when the alcohol does the talking."

Asmir thought about it and felt that it made sense. If Hiro kept mingling with demons of high status and neglected the less fortunate demons, he could miss out on many opportunities to gather information.

Asmir's voice drifted over, "Alright then, just wait for my good news, little guy."

Hiro hesitated for a moment and asked, "What happened to that female demon?"

Asmir raised an eyebrow. "The vessel, right? I placed her somewhere secure for now, lest she caused some trouble."

Hiro thought that it made sense. Suddenly, he felt a fleeting wave of killing intent, but it was quickly restrained.

Sadly, after going through the world of Babylon and playing as Sitri in the realistic simulation space, Hiro was very sensitive to such things.

Regardless, he also understood how important the secret hidden within that demon's body was.

Hiro hesitated for a moment, should he gift Asmir with the fragments of law he earned from the demon game?

That fragment was very helpful to the core of a dimension, especially a demonic-attributed dimension.

Forget it, Hiro mused to himself. I should focus on doing my job for now. Everything else can wait, I'll only feel at ease when I have saved up 10,000 points.

As Hiro cleared up his thoughts, he decided to heed the system's advice and keep the fragments of law in the inventory space for future use.

Who knows, this Asmir might be generous enough to give him a pocket dimension in the future.

Hiro told himself that it was just a dream, but it wasn't bad for a youth to have dreams.

"I have one question," Asmir finally couldn't contain her curiosity or rather her cautiousness.

Hiro knew that this was coming sooner or later so he said, "Please go ahead."

Asmir remained silent for a while before she finally asked, "You're hiding your strength, aren't you?"

Hiro thought about it and replied, "Not necessarily… I can be either strong or weak depending on the situation. When I'm in dire straits, I can get help."

"What kind of help?" Asmir probed further.

Hiro thought about it for a moment, looked around, and asked, "Is this place secure enough?"

Asmir didn't respond immediately, as she understood what Hiro meant. A moment later, Hiro could feel something change, but he didn't know what changed exactly.

"I've sealed this space," Asmir spoke from her position above the staircase. "No one will know what happened inside this place."

To be honest, Asmir was also very curious.

Hiro knew that guesses and conjectures could only protect him for so long, and he needed to give her something substantial so she would hold back and not kill him on a whim one day.

Thus, Hiro immediately adjusted his state of mind, closed his eyes, and focused.

Of course, this was just a pretense—a show for Asmir to watch. With the system's help, his aura and bloodline continued to weaken in presence until they were completely gone.

Asmir was shocked; even with her strength, if Hiro wasn't standing beneath her gaze, she'd have missed him.

She would only find him by using the laws of casualties with the realm fragment as a medium.

However, her attention soon shifted as a mysterious power exploded from within Hiro's body.

First, it was Sitri's bloodline power, which originated from the Celestial Demon Bloodline.

In the game, this was practically the highest bloodline a demon could get their hands on.

As the bloodline suppression permeated the space, Asmir felt her heart skip a beat.

Then, Hiro's aura skyrocketed to the standards of Tier-4, and it was the absolute peak of that tier.

Although this was much weaker than Asmir, especially when one accounted for her stronghold, faith energy, and the laws of the Demon Realm—she still felt a little awestruck because she assumed that this strength was something projected into Hiro's body from an unknown distance.

Hiro opened his eyes and they were no longer crimson, but a flare of bright silver.

His demeanor also changed into that of an almighty expert who had seen through the world.

He clasped his hands behind his back, curiously inspecting the space all around him.

Now that he had used the synchronization feature and looked at this space through the eyes of Sitri, Hiro noticed many things he hadn't seen before.

At first glance, this space seemed like a fragile bubble that could burst at any time.

However, a second glance would reveal how tightly sealed this space was.

Hiro thought back to how the Holy Church would claim to have sealed the space around the human world, and he now somewhat understood.

But he had to put on act for Asmir now.

Hiro sighed in disappointment and didn't even look toward the staircase above.

He reached out with his hand and tapped out with a finger, but he was actually activating the planeswalker feature to open a portal.

Of course, this portal wouldn't lead to his pocket dimension or the human world as he had to act safe.

It actually leads to the most recent pocket dimension that the church opened to the public.

However, the destination didn't matter because what matters now was posturing.

As expected, he heard a gasp of shock from the staircase above. "Impossible!"

Asmir was stunned.

The space rumbled; dense faith energy and power of laws flooded the sealed space, attempting to twist and destroy the portal or sever its connection to the Demon Realm.

It was useless.

Please, who do you think you are? My cheat system isn't so easily bullied! Hiro thought to himself.

This was a display of strength! Hiro wanted to give Asmir the illusion that whoever was behind him, they could easily enter the Demon Realm whenever and wherever they pleased.

Asmir indeed had this thought in mind, so she quickly acted and said, "Don't be in such a hurry to leave, I have a little bit of fate with this child."

Her voice was gentle and persuasive, and after hearing it, Hiro stopped.

However, he didn't turn to face her but decided to cancel off the synchronization directly.

Hiro's aura quickly deflated while the portal closed. Then, he let out a gasp, breathing heavily while bending over to catch his breath.

Asmir was stunned as she thought, he believed me just like that? Or is it that he couldn't maintain that state for long?

She immediately shook her head as it didn't matter. If he wished to fight, he'd simply cross over.

That person already knew her identity and location, not to mention that she couldn't stop him from coming over even if she desired to.

Thus, whether he used this body as a vessel or not didn't matter. As she thought to this point, Asmir's voice grew gentler as she spoke.

"Sitri, is that your teacher?"

With his head lowered, Hiro smiled and thought to himself, bingo! Sigh, it's so easy to fool experts when you challenge their common sense.

"No, Your Majesty," Hiro gasped for air while responding. "That's the Planeswalker, an envoy responsible for transportation between planes."

Hiro decided to say this and leave the rest to her imagination.
