Chapter 1471 Framework of the Sect Law Enforcement Hall (2)
As Wei Chin and Elder Song began the process of establishing the law enforcement hall for the Star Shattering Sect, it didn't take long for news about this to spread throughout the Star Shattering Sect and the different branches of the sect. In turn, it caused a large number of disciples and elders who hadn't taken on any profession at the moment to sign up for the law enforcement hall.
After all, different from becoming an alchemist, being a member of the law enforcement hall wouldn't require the same level of dedication and would only require one to patrol the sect and ensure internal stability and that the sect's laws were being followed. Not just that but doing so would also result in them getting contribution points in return.
Considering that the Star Shattering Sect was extremely peaceful internally without any split factions vying for superiority or branches that seemed to be engaged in large scale corruption and embezzlement, it could essentially be considered free contribution points that they could earn without having to go out and risk their lives hunting down demon beasts or demonic cultivators.
Because of this, the disciples and elders willing to join the law enforcement hall ended up surpassing the combined numbers of the Alchemy, Blacksmithing and Formation Hall before it had even been officially established.
Although this could be considered great news for Wei Chin, as he didn't have to go look for people to help fill out the ranks, he also felt a bit troubled.
Not just had the numbers of disciples and elders wanting to become part of the law enforcement hall surpassed the initial number required for the first part of the law enforcement hall that would be centered around the sect's most important resource gathering locations and branches, but it had more than tripled the required number…
It was not that he didn't want to add all of these eager disciples and elders willing to join. Especially so considering all of them were part of the main sect and could be considered the most trustworthy in the entire Star Shattering Sect. Instead, it was because he simply couldn't manage so many disciples and elders at the moment.
Even the thousand disciples and dozen Nascent Soul Realm Elders he had originally decided to add to the law enforcement hall could be considered straining the old guard who had come from the Flying Sword Sect and Spring Flower Sect's old law enforcement halls.
And… He understood that although he might be able to manage so many disciples and elders by stretching himself and the abilities of his subordinates to their limits, he would end up in a situation similar to the one that Elder Song currently found himself in…
Though survivable, Wei Chin never wanted to take on that kind of workload and thus decided to directly limit the number of disciples and elders who could be part of the law enforcement hall to the originally planned number for now.
To make things more interesting for the disciples and elders wanting to join the law enforcement hall (and to save himself from having to do the job himself), he decided to have them compete with each other on who could contribute the most to building up the new law enforcement hall on the Seventh Star Peak and across the chosen locations throughout the sect's territory.
The judges being the old guard who were already considered part of the law enforcement hall, while Wei Chin himself decided to focus on the future management of the law enforcement hall or in other words. Leaving everything to others while he quietly retreated to cultivate on his own without doing any of the work himself.
In a sense, Wei Chin, this old grand elder of the half spirit race, was truly skillful at his job, able to command those under him to efficiently do his work for him.
Even more so, he had managed to successfully fool a large portion of the sect's elders and disciples into working for him and helping him establish the initial framework of the law enforcement hall without offering a single contribution point in return.
"Competition… Hm… Maybe I should establish more such competition in the future…"
As the grand elder of the half spirit race and the future head of the law enforcement retreated into his private quarters to cultivate while the competition for becoming part of the law enforcement hall began playing out, a new idea for the future direction of the law enforcement hall spring forth inside his head as he observed the excited disciples and elders dashing off to complete the task that had been given to them without expecting a single contribution point in return…
In the following days, as the information of the law enforcement hall began to spread through the Star Shattering Sect's branches and the presence of this new organization began to pop up in several important locations, it didn't take long before it caught the attention of the different major powers who had been monitoring the Star Shattering Sect.
Although, after a quick look and learning about this law enforcement hall, they quickly threw the matter to the back of their mind.
After all, the law enforcement hall operated as the internal security of the sect and was tasked with upholding the sect laws and ensure that they were being followed. Punishing any disciples or elders found in violations of said rules and laws.
For a sect- or any power so to speak, such an organization was crucial for stability and would always be present, though the name might be different.
Only newly emerged powers who hadn't been around for long could lack such a fundamental pillar and not for long, though, none of them considered this to be the case with the Star Shattering Sect. Not giving the newly established law enforcement hall a second thought as they returned to passively observing the movements of the Star Shattering Sect.
After all, the Star Shattering Sect was an ancient hidden sect that had been around for an untold number of years, it was impossible for it to not have some kind of internal stabilizing force…
