Counterattack System appeared when I’m already At The Mahayana Realm

Chapter 460 - 459: I, Who Was Expelled from the Hero’s Team, Become the Real Hero

Chapter 460: Chapter 459: I, Who Was Expelled from the Hero’s Team, Become the Real Hero

Neither the female archer nor Lans, who had known Jiang Li for half a day, had any clue who she was talking about.

What’s the scheme in the Immortal Realm? What’s with the world’s destruction? What do these all mean?

These concepts were too abstract for Lans and the archer. Jiang Li had no intention of explaining them.

“The plan doesn’t change. Gather the four-item equipment set first and then head to the Demon King’s castle.”

Clearing the dungeon was no challenge for Jiang Li. He encountered various colored slimes, skeleton soldiers in worn armor and rusty hatchets, a minotaur named Minos, and cyclopes, to name just a few.

“Indeed, species are diverse.” Jiang Li observed these novel species with great interest.

In the immortal realm described by the old Immortal, these monsters did not exist, indicating that these demonic clans were not capable of ascending to the Immortal Realm. They were unique to this world.

“Semi-transparent body, no thinking process, just the primitive instinct to eat, slimes are like giant amoebas.”

“Skeleton soldiers aren’t skeletons come to life. They are tiny insects with a collective will that hollow out the bones and hide inside to control the body.”

“Minotaurs and Cyclopes appear to be hybrids between some type of demon tribe and humans. Traces of human lineage can still be identified in their bloodlines—strictly speaking, these two are from the demon clan. Nobody can obtain wisdom without reaching the Divinity Transformation Stage… in Eira World, that’s referred to as level five.”

Jiang Li also saved various audacious adventurers along the way.

The deeper he went, the less frequent the demons began to appear, and the individual strength of the demons started to multiply.

However, this change was of no consequence to Jiang Li as he could dismiss them with a simple thought.

In the end, Jiang Li arrived at the lowest level with Lans and the archer.

“A demonic statue crafted personally by the Demon King guards the bottommost floor. It possesses legendary strength— countless have died beneath the massive form of the statue. Until today, no adventurer who managed to get down here has emerged fully intact.”

“I can’t believe that on my first dungeon-crawling adventure, I would get this far.” The archer got excited, greatly thanks to the influencer leading them.

But for Lans, the whole experience felt strange. It wasn’t so much “fight against demons” as it was “meandering” around; the dangerous dungeon appeared like a back yard to this lord.

Estimating the situation, Lans thought if he and the original Hero Squad ventured into this dungeon, it would have taken about ten to fifteen days to reach the last floor safely.

However, following Jiang Li, it took only an hour.

The time it took for him to get to the bottom of the dungeon depended not on the number of demons, but on the speed at which he was walking.

The lord hadn’t so much as dirty a hem of his garment.

Jiang Li pushed open the door to be met with the legendary statue. The statue was massive, standing at nearly ten meters tall. It was carved out of clay and copper, with moss growing on it. Countless skeletons were strewn about it— presumably, the adventurers who were killed by the statue.

“This is considered legendary?” Jiang Li was slightly disappointed. The terrifying statue from the outside world was on the verge of reaching the Body Integration Realm.

“Too weak.” Jiang Li disintegrated the statue with a mere thought and took out the Hero’s Sword hidden inside.

The Hero’s Sword was as glittering as gold.

Jiang Li flicked it with his finger, and the sword trembled, humming like a metronome.

“Not too shabby.” Jiang Li waved it gently, not daring to use too much strength, afraid of breaking the Hero’s Sword.

Now he thought about the legend that the Hero’s Sword could cut through anything, so he tested it out by trying to trim his nails.

As expected, the Hero’s Sword couldn’t even trim his nails.

“It’s yours.” Jiang Li tossed the Hero’s Sword to Lans.

The sword was deemed too weak, even taking up unneeded space in his Storage Ring. Leaving a venerable sword like that lying around seemed inappropriate; better to give it to Lans.

Lans nervously grabbed hold of the Hero’s Sword.

The Hero’s Sword was a symbol of the hero. He never thought that the symbol of the hero would end up in his hands.

What Jiang Li considered a space hog, to Lans and the archer, it was a godsent treasure.

Lans felt like he was dreaming: he was kicked out of the Hero Squad in the morning, he met Jiang Li afterward, introduced Jiang Li how to use magic and skills in the morning, conquered the dungeon by noon, and received the legendary Hero’s Sword.

He couldn’t believe how quickly the fortunes of his life had changed, all of this only took half a day.

Acquiring the Hero’s Sword meant the demon tribe lost control of the dungeon. Innumerable demons fled the dungeon, returning to the demon stronghold.

Adventurers who were still fighting in the dungeon noticed their adversaries trembling and shortly after, fleeing in panic.

“Is this the phenomenon of successfully conquering the last layer— Liberating the dungeon?” A shocked adventurer exclaimed.

This dungeon was different from other dungeons. The deepest level of demons belonged to the Hero’s Sword.

“Someone conquered the legendary statue and won the Hero’s Sword!”

“The predicted hero has emerged, who is he?”

All fighting people in the dungeon realized this, they waited at the entrance eager to see who exactly was the hero.

Eventually, they saw Lans wielding the Hero’s Sword, the female archer who longed to touch it, and a very calm-faced Jiang Li.

People’s attention was grasped more by Lans than the peculiar-looking Jiang Li.

Just when they wanted to approach and ask Lans, they found out the trio had vanished into thin air.

“Only half a day left to conquer the remaining three dungeons.”

“By the way, do you guys need to have lunch?” Jiang Li suddenly remembered. Although he had practiced fasting and didn’t need to eat, the human and the elf definitely need to eat.

“No, no, no. We don’t need lunch. Please continue leading us through the dungeon,” said the human and the elf in unison.

Joke’s on them—who would waste time eating when they’re about to see the last three legendary items.

“Then let’s get a move on, maybe we can still make it for dinner after overthrowing the Demon King.” Jiang Li nonchalantly said before strolling into the dungeon.

Knowing the power of Jiang Li, the human and the elf didn’t believe Jiang Li was joking. They promptly followed, preparing to witness history.

Or perhaps it’s better to say that they were in the process of witnessing history.

Sequentially, two more statues fell, and Jiang Li gave the Hero’s Shield and Hero’s Ring he received to Lans.

Jiang Li decided against testing the durability of the Hero’s Shield, afraid that he would transform it into a disposable item.

As for the Hero’s Ring, the spiritual energy embedded inside is probably just about enough for a few Body Integration Realm cultivators to maneuver. The energy is even less than what lies in one strand of Jiang Li’s hair.

“If holding these shabby metals can defeat the Demon King, then the Demon King is good for nothing.”

Jiang Li stretched, bought a string of candied hawthorns in town, and prepared to head to the last dungeon.

Lans had the Hero’s Ring and held the Sword in his right hand and the Shield in his left.

“I don’t necessarily have to be a magician; being a magical swordsman isn’t so bad,” Lans murmured to himself.
