"What's the progress on the suits?"
I inquire causally, standing in front of a large circular table tall enough to reach my waist. It is glowing and on its surface are two [Tech Jackets] hovering silently inside a bluish column of light.
It's been only six hours since I gave my manipulative speech to the Guardians and currently, I'm in one of my laboratories in New Flaxia.
Getting a [Tech Jacket] from the body of a Gelderian is a risky process and if done forcefully, the suit will self-destruct, killing the wearer in the process.
That's how far the Geldarians are willing to go to prevent their sacred technology and one of the most powerful weapons in the universe from alien hands.
There is only one way of getting one. The Geldarians must give it to you themselves.
That's how I got these two, I just had to 'convince' them to willingly transfer them to me at the cost of their lives. A very simple approach.
[There are still some security commands on them that are preventing me from thoroughly studying every inch of them. At the moment, I'm breaking them down carefully, piece by piece so that it doesn't self-destruct.
It won't be long till I've overwritten their coding and after that, I'll be able to restructure it to suit your wishes.]
Seraph explains as the two suits start humming but in a second, it dies down and disappears.
"Good, since you already know their theoretical capabilities, the model I want is in order."
I nod with an excited smile on my face while watching the advanced machinery do its work.
[Indeed, I need the information to construct a working model prototype. Overwhelming specifics aren't needed.]
Seraph responds.
"Then I'll start. Firstly, as you know, I don't like bulky suits so make it bio-synthetic and also remove the dependency feature of the suit. There shouldn't be a case where I won't be able to remove it again.
"Secondly, reconfigure the energy system. There is no need for energy weaponry. Rather, divert most of the energy to the physiological enhancements but include something new. Make it so that even my mind gets enhanced, and if possible allocate most of the energy to this part.
"Lastly, upgrade its computer systems and attach yourself to it. These are the three main key points. I'll leave the design and everything else to you."
I explain swiftly point by point.
[Okay, after I create the prototype, I'll let you know.]
She responds, an electronic beep sounding in the lab the moment I finish talking.
Now, it's time to collect the last piece of the puzzle. Yesterday, after I locked eyes with him, it was as if some form of connection formed between the two OmniSpark pieces.
Relying on Seraph, I managed to find his identity. His name is Levy Angstrom, a highly intelligent man who reportedly, suddenly disappeared in the late nineteen-eighties.
He has no parents, offspring, or even family at all. A complete ghost of a person with no attachments.
I made Seraph analyze security footage and every form of surveillance tech in the country till we found out that during the past five days, he has been popping up in the country.
Every time he pops up, he's with someone so identical to him that it wouldn't be a stretch to call his companions clones of him.
The interesting thing about this is that he's been gathering them up in an abandoned warehouse near the coast of California.
After reviewing this countless times to make sure I didn't miss anything, I came to a conclusion.
He's been traveling the Multiverse and all those he brings with him are his counterparts from all the different universes he's been to.
This is just a hypothesis, the possibility of it being true is almost ninety percent. But if it is real...then my life is going to be even freakier from here onwards.
With the newly formed connection, I have an acute sense of where he is at the moment and can—by pure instinct—create a portal to his location.
By a stroke of luck, he has been in possession of the other piece of the OmniSpark for a long time but it's time the rightful owner gets it.
With a dark smile plastered on my face, I focus on the connection and with a thought, a usual portal with a space-like appearance manifests in front of me.
Walking through, I appear inside a large brightly lit warehouse with blue burnished walls, flooring, and ceiling with mechanical designs.
"Who the hell are you and how did you get here!?"
Levy Angstrom—the one with the other piece—exclaims loudly in fear beside me as he falls downs in shock and backs away from me.
All around, seated on the floor or chairs, or standing above my position on the metal bridge or against the upper rails, gasps of shock and surprise echo all over from the other Levy Angstroms as their eyes fall on my figure.
Those seated immediately stand to their feet and those already standing become alert and start looking around the place and me with weary eyes and faces full of suspicion.
Looking at Levy, my smile deepens and with a snap of my fingers, he and his other counterparts freeze in place, making their faces morph into one of fear as they realize they can only move their eyes and lips.
"Hmmm, I'm just a regular old American citizen, Mr. Angstrom. I've been waiting for you for a while now and thankfully you're here."
I say softly in a cold tone, crouching to his level as grinds his teeth, his fearful eyes widening in terror.
"...H-How do you know my name?"
"It doesn't matter now, does it? What I would like to know is why you have ninety other Levy Angstroms gathered here today."
Unnerved and afraid, he doesn't answer and just moves his eyes left and right, taking in the sights of his immediate surroundings.
Sigh..this is wasting time, I've had my fun. First, extract everything he knows about the Multiverse and then kill him to take the other piece. He's already thinking of escaping.
The next moment—before he can react—I enter his mind, freeze it and absorb all his memories to the last bit.
"...Now this is interesting, who would've thought you'd be a man of ambition Levy."
My eyes widen as I scan through all the absorbed memories, my lips curling into a wide grin.
He plans to take all the variants or counterparts of himself from across the Multiverse and absorb all their knowledge about their home dimensions.
A very smart and ambitious plan. The only obstacle he has is that he needs a machine to do it. Luckily, he already has a plan for that and it involves the Mauler Twins.
Hmm, the most interesting thing about this is the fact that across the Multiverse or the universes he's been to, I don't exist.
This is something I've theorized and with this, I can finally erase my suspicion and part of the fear lingering deep inside of me the moment I got to know that the Multiverse is real.
...After all, there's nothing I'm more afraid of than having another me as an enemy or even an ally. It's good to know that I won't meet another me anytime soon...at least in this reality.
Levy's plan is very important not only to him but to me now that I know it. There are bound to be more exotic resources and things I can use in the infinite Multiverse so I guess he'll live for now with the other piece.
I take a glance at Levy's unfocused eyes and those around and the next moment, I freeze their minds also and rewrite their memories—erasing this encounter from them.
In Prime Levy's mind—now labeled due to only him having the other piece's power—I add a command that will make him inform me after he's done gathering all his counterparts and is about to undergo the procedure.
Creating a portal, I straighten myself and glance at all the frozen—in both mind and body—Levy's and snap my fingers as I walk into the portal.
Now that this is taken care of, all I have to do is wait for my investment to succeed and then I'll reap my returns while I enjoy what this uni——no Multiverse has to offer.
...At the end of the day, opportunities don't happen...you create them...
