Chapter 260: Night Meeting
Donovan still as Draven, flees from the castle using the shadows, leaping from shadow to shadow as his heart races, pumping whenever he thinks of what he sees in the Camelot Vault.
"( That thing shouldn't have existed... )"
"( No one should have that thing as their power no- )"
" You can come out now! " said a voice, immediately making Donovan cancel his <Black Shadowportation> as he emerged in a place, a forest amid the night.
" Gah! " Donovan falls after rising from the shadows, he looks in front of him, seeing the owner of the voice approaching him.
" You, what are you doing here!? " Donovan asks as the one who meets him now is none other than the Black Merchant himself.
" You have good ears. " Black Merchant says while walking around him.
" A trait that only a few of the post-Ragnarok people ever developed," he tells him.
" Ever since they mastered their magic and technology, people began to focus themselves on just one of their senses, their eye. "
" Abandoning all other senses they have, as their eye absorbs so much information they need and wished for themselves. "
" Hell, they even had more Magic Eyes than before now, right? " Black Merchant chuckles while it responds with only silence.
" Well, despite all that, people often do not remember the use of their other senses, one particularly important, their ears. "
" For it is a human's very nature to only believe what they were shown, not what they were told and listened to. "
" Which often led them, to the promises of visual deceit, as their eyes deceive them. " Black Merchant says that as he stops.
" Just like that little Princess, you've met just now. " Black Merchant tells Donovan just that, he puts his hand on the ground, falling.
" You see, everything? " Donovan asks, in his confusion, he could only stay in his position.
" I didn't see, I listened. " Black Merchant tells him.
" Just like you, I hear its whispers from my place, damn it hurts my ear hearing it. " Black Merchant rubs his ear.
" WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!? " Donovan shouts in his fright, raising his head as he releases the sound of his dread.
" DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THAT IS!? " Donovan asks the Black Merchant, the mysterious merchant he met on Alviheim, whom he always had a hunch that the person knew everything that many people don't. Despite Donovan himself, not knowing his real identity, or even wondering about it.
" Stand up... " Black Merchant told him which made Donovan stand just like he was told.
" What are you? " Donovan asks, as he could feel his fatigue gone at the sudden he stands, before that, he felt so much fatigue and stress after what he experienced, now, it's all gone.
" Why? " Black Merchant replied, not with an answer but with another question instead.
" Why should I even tell you about myself? "
" Like it has something to do with you of- "
" Just tell me who you are...! " Donovan says it but stops.
" ...,p-, please... " he said it, he did not why and even the System didn't notify him, but deep within him urged him to add that word.
" Well, permission denied. " Black Merchant straightly tells him that.
" If I was revealed too early, the next phase of my plans would be more harmful than before. "
" I must be revealed the last, even more than you. "
" But, since it has come to this. "
" Perhaps, a bit of revelation, might not hurt. " Black Merchant looks at Donovan, while suddenly, he uses a Water Magic, bending it into creating a Magical Circle in the air and suddenly creating a 'Gate Portal' using it.
" Just some [Water Gate], kid. " Black Merchant tells him.
" I used it so much back then, it helps. "
" I could teach you if you want. "
" But first, I must bring you to my place..., thank goodness I already made your father leave before I met you here. " Black Merchant says it.
" Come on! "
" Don't stay and let one see your face early! " Black Merchant enters the Gate he made, which Donovan sees in awe, he sees it, and listens to the opened Gate Portal sounds, sound so similar to the usual gates.
" It is a Gate alright. " Donovan says this as he, without doubt, enters the Gate Portal, which led him right into a room, a place, filled with lights and items of furniture.
< Location Unlocked >

" You want it? " Black Merchant asks Donovan which made him want to say yes, but.
" I already have so many weapons. " Donovan tells the Merchant.
" Seeing this, I realized it's a strong weapon but it's all the same. "
" Even the last sword you gave me is already too good for me to use. " Donovan says, equipping the said item.

" Perhaps..., would it be better if you, upgrade this? " Donovan asks the Black Merchant, making him smile listening to what he said.
" Wise choice... "
" Rather than having a new one, you decided to just expand the capabilities of what you have, giving more to its mechanics. " Black Merchant says as Donovan without doubt throws the dagger into his hands.
" Farewell, as my dear customer had spoken. " Black Merchant turns back and goes into his nearby room.
" You could look around the place, see around, and tell me if there's something you'll be interested in. " Black Merchant tells before leaving.
Donovan listens to it, smiling, deciding to walk away from the current room filled with items, not because he feels he already has the things he needs, but simply because he can't stand a mural in the room, a mural that shows four horse riders with gray, black, white, and red armor circling, and in between them, a being made of gold, in the middle as the horse riders circle it.
" I don't like the contents, whatever it is, it gives me creeps. " Donovan says it as he goes into the other sections of the rooms instead.
