Chapter 84: Fight the Crazed Cult Dude.
(Celia’s POV)
Fern was way too old to hail from that tribe, so he must not be connected to it. Instead, he probably just integrated himself within the Fern clan, even taking the name of it as his name.
Fern: “Damn you, damn you… damn you!” He shouted in anger, trying to attack me once more.
Celia: “Damn me? Once you die, you will be sent to the hellest of hells. I know for a fact that sacrificing innocent people gives you many negative sins.” I reply with a laugh.
Fern: “You wish to kill me? Then do try! I will kill you half dead, and then I’ll use you as my sacrifice instead of that cub!” He replied a crazed tone.
Dodging his attack each time was hard, I will admit. But I could still do so. And he left too many opening for me to exploit. By now, I had put countless wounds on him, but they didn’t matter much.
In just mere seconds, Fern heals whatever damage that I dish out to him. And peeping at Fern’s Status, his HP Stat was back to full again as well.
The only thing that went down… was his MP. But both of us have practically endless MP at this stage in our Statuses. This wasn’t that surprising. How are Higher Beings supposed to even fight?
Faith: “Why aren’t you fighting him? Just beat the shit of Fern already!” She ordered with an impatient tone.
Celia: “If I truly fight him… then this world will be destroyed.” I reply.
Yes, that is the key issue here. In just a few seconds into the fight, that dungeon was completely destroyed, and now our fight was held above ground. He might seem insane, but not even Fern was willing to destroy the world which he wished to rule.
Celia: “Why bother with this dimension? With your race, you can go to a different one. There are a few where those with Systems do not exist, and magic doesn’t either.” I say with a raised eyebrow.
Fern: “And what would be the point of that? To claim something so easily… would be an insult to all of my efforts over the years!” He replied, still angry.
Celia: “Fern, this is getting us nowhere.” I reply, blocking his sword strike.
Just blocking that attack alone… had caused a giant gash to open up in the ground beneath us. It was just lucky that his hideout was many miles away from that capital city of Lem’s…
Fern: “Neither of us seems to wish to destroy this planet… But that isn’t important. You’ve ruined my chance at evolving, and I will not mind wasting your time in this petty fight, even if thousands of years pass!” He replied with an evil laugh.
We were at a complete stalemate. If I was level 9,999, then I could easily end his life without causing any damage to this planet. But with my current power, that isn’t possible at all.
Faith: “Hey, just hold him off for a while. I have a great idea!” She proposed.
Celia: “What kind of idea?” I ask in reply.
Faith: “You’ll see. Just piss him off some more, or something.” She refused to answer, and only just giggled with her none answer.
Celia: “…”
Frankly, I am curious about what she plans on doing… I mean, she shouldn’t be able to do anything. Faith is still trapped in my soul. But her words weren’t false, so I guess that I just have to waste more of Fern’s time…
