Chapter 3: The Cell Life Chose Me.
Chapter 3: The Cell Life Chose Me.
*Celia’s POV*
Swimming as fast as my little leg tail thingy could take me, I swam away from that huge ass cell. Looking back at it, the giant cell seemed to not care about chasing me. Good!
Fucker is really taking the phrase, “Going with the flow.” In a literal sense. Considering that it just doesn’t really try that hard for food.
Speaking of food, I am sure that you’re interested on what those cells tasted like, right? Well, I don’t have any taste buds in this form, so, they tasted like nothing. Aw… to think that I am missing out on the surely exquisite taste of those cells… What a shame.
Anyway, time to look at my Status! I am sure that I have made a decent increase in my current power! Status!

What?… Only one level from all of those cells!? Granted, I didn’t bother checking if all of them were still alive… I guess that most of them died by the time that I made it to them. Which fucking sucks!
Shit… this whole thing is going to drive me insane. Honestly, I am still in doubt that this is actually happening. This entire situation could just be a figment of my dying brain’s imagination.
As for right now, I will still choose to believe that it is real. With how those beings showed up, anything could be possible. So, I need to be careful to not get myself killed.
Anyway, like I had an actual option, I chose the Basic Mouth upgrade, and then blacked out once more.
Waking up with a splitting headache, why do I, who is currently a cell, get fucking headaches!? Ah… whatever. Testing out my new mouth, it looks like it will be far easier to get food, and experience now!
Swimming around for a bit, I come across a group of harmless looking cells who are only slightly bigger than me. Come to think of it, I didn’t get to see those notifications… Maybe it was because I ignored them?
Well, for now, I need to see how much experience points that I get from these cells. Taking a look at one, I say, “Inspect.” In my head.

Right… I forgot that what Exp that they give me, isn’t shown. So, they’re one level higher than me. Oddly, they don’t have the little tail thingy that I have. Even though they’re a higher level… Maybe they’re just stupid?
Well, time to eat! First, I just eat one, so that I can figure out how much Exp they actually give me. Surely, if I check the notification this time, I will get a clue on how much they experience that they give me.
Taking a bite out of one, it kinda just ignored me, and looked somewhat bored. Okay, fucker. I’ll just calmly eat you then. Thanks for the meal!
After I finished eating it whole, I heard that familiar “Ding!” Sound once again.

*Ding!*
System: “User, Celia, gained 0.2 Exp from killing a Random Cell.” She said with the same robotic voice.

Oh… what the fuck? Only fucking 0.2 experience points from it!? What kind of hellish RPG world did I get thrown into?… Fuck… It is going to take a long while to get levels up when these cells barely give me shit…
While I was thinking this, all of the other cell’s vanished. Huh? Is it because of me? Ah, it was because that big fucker ate them… Why the hell are you following me!?
I wasn’t taking any chances with this contradiction of a cell, so I swam in the complete opposite direction of it. And for a long time as well.
Thinking about my environment, I was kinda curious, so I swam as far as I could. New problem, after swimming in one direction for, I think, ten minutes, I hit “something”…
No. It wasn’t a cell. I think I hit glass, or something like that. What the fuck? I’m not in some random assholes petri dish, or something, right?…
Let’s just not think about that for now. Ignoring my problems until a later time, has almost always worked out for me, after all. Hopefully…
Regardless, I turned back around, and went searching for more cells so that I can level up. After looking for a few minutes, I came across a new group of cells. They looked far bigger than me. I was curious on what level they are, so I peeped at one of their statuses.

Wow… that is a big jump in levels… Should I try to kill one of them? None of them have mouths, but they could probably still absorb me like I had to do before I got a mouth…
I chose the smallest cell of the group. Oddly, they kinda just floated around aimlessly. Again, most likely because they don’t actually think. Anyway, using this to my advantage, I pushed one of them a decent ways away from the group.
Thanks for the food! And then I started to rip into the big cell. It… it kinda deflated like a balloon with a small hole in it. I felt kinda sad for the poor thing… Ah, I heard that ding sound! Remorse over!

*Ding!*
System: “User, Celia, gained 9 Exp from killing a Random Cell, and gained one level. Due to it being a far higher level than the current user, five times the Exp was given.” She said.
______________________________________________________________________________
Ah, sweet! Just one of those big ones gave me a level up! I wonder what my Status looks like now? Thinking that, the screen that I am beginning to get familiar with, showed up once more.

So, the Exp required to level up, increased. That sucks, but at least my HP increased as well. It also seems that right now, I only get one SIP per level.
Come to think of it, why do I only have HP and Hunger Stats? If this is a game like System, shouldn’t there be other Stats as well? Unprompted, I got a notification from the System woman.

*Ding!*
System: “User, Celia. Your current access level to the System is too low to use the features that you’ve spoken of. Please get stronger first.” She said.
______________________________________________________________________________
Passive aggressive much? Whatever… At least it gave me an actual answer. I just have to focus on killing shit. Which is something that I never realized that I would have to do… I am, or, was just a teacher for crying out loud!
Focusing back on reality, I realized that the group of cells disappeared once more. Holyshit… it is the same fucking huge cell… It ate all of those cells while I wasn’t paying attention… Is it really following me?

*Ding!*
System: “User, Celia. You have taken 22 points of damage to your HP.” She said.

What the fuck!? That big cell is so fucking fast! I didn’t even notice it move, before I was bitten in half by it. Ah, I am almost dead, for a second time… And now that fucker is actually coming to finish the job, unlike the last time…
It was still pretty slow, though. I think that it might have a lunge ability, or something like that…
Thinking that this was the end once more, I closed my eyes, or rather, I stopped bothering to sense anything. If I was going to die, I didn’t need to witness how I died once again.
As I was prepared for death once more, the world shook, and I was rapidly flung around with great speed. Can a cell throw up? Because I feel like throwing up right about now!
