Chapter 21: Dungeon.
Chapter 21: Dungeon.
*Celia’s POV*
While walking around the dungeon, I hadn’t come across any Primal Goblins since the last one. Though, I was still very curious about the crystals that were everywhere in this dungeon. I really, really want to take some with me…
Though, without a pickaxe, I would not be able to achieve my goal of taking these crystals with me. With annoyance, I sat down on a smooth rock, and looked for some food that was in my pouch.
But then I realized something… Inside the pouch, were various tools. Not just food and weapons. Of them, there was a wood-cutting axe, a shovel, and even a pickaxe! What luck! I wonder how many different things can actually fit in this pouch? Eh, it is far more fun just to keep putting stuff into it, and not knowing how much space it has left in it.
For the moment, screw eating food! I have crystals to collect! That sorta sounds like I am a drug dealer… These crystals aren’t drugs, right? Taking a look at one of the crystal piles on the walls, I used Inspect on it.

Deposit of Water Mana Crystals: E Grade.
:Description:
A crystal, which contains mana that has affinity to water magic. Used to regain lost mana in a pinch, as well as gaining more total mana once consumed. Consuming too many at one time, will lead to death.

Cool! So, they’re actually fantasy world drugs! That totally makes me feel better about mining a shit ton of them! Not like I would pass up the chance. These Goblins won’t be using them, and even if I don’t use them, I could still sell them for a decent profit.
There were many different Mana Crystal deposits in this dungeon. All of varying colors. Which means that they have affinities to different mana elements. Taking out my pickaxe, I walk over to a nonspecific Mana Crystal deposit.
With a slight challenge, due to my small body, I raised the pickaxe above my head, and then use all of my strength to force it down onto the deposit. With sparks and a loud clanking sound, the deposit was smashed, leaving only Mana Crystals. As for my pickaxe, it went flying behind me.
I wasn’t too worried about the pickaxe, since it was of high quality. But what did worry me, was the shout, and sound of flesh being stabbed, right behind me. Turning around, I could see that my pickaxe was lodged into the head of a Primal Goblin. Why the heck didn’t my Danger Sense work? Was this Goblin not considered a threat to me?…
Anyway, there was really no way for it to survive this, so I just casually walked up to its body. With a small struggle, I pulled the pickaxe out of its skull with a plop sound. Heh. Serves you right for trying to sneak up on me!
Gloating about an accidental, but completely justified murder aside, I walked back to my hard work. Picking up the Mana Crystals, I put them in my pouch. I sure hope that Yona doesn’t ask for this pouch back. It is just far too useful, after all…
Ruina: “Will you be mining more Mana Crystals?” She asked.
Celia: “That is the plan, yes.” I reply with a nod.
Ruina: “Then use your SIP’s to buy the Mining Skill. And you might as well buy the Swordsmanship Skill as well.” She offered.
Celia: “You know, after your talk about using my soul as currency for Skills, I am on the fence about acquiring them.” I say with a serious tone.
Ruina: “If a Skill or Upgrade is available for you to purchase with SIP’s, then your soul won’t be sacrificed.” She said with a laugh.
Really? I still feel a little off about it, though… Whatever! At this point, I highly doubt that Ruina wants me dead. So I’ll just check my Status out first.

Oh? I gained a level? I guess that I have just not been paying attention… It seems that I am a little bit hungry, though. On a random tangent, now that I think about it, what does the INT Stat even actually do? I mean, it has gone up higher, but unlike the other Stats, I do not feel any more intelligent than before…
Ruina: “It doesn’t make you more intelligent.” She said with a laugh.
Celia: “Then what the heck does it even do?” I ask with a pout.
Ruina: “From the records that I have access to, it will only increase your intelligence slightly, but only every hundred points you get in it.” She replied.
Celia: “So, it is basically useless?” I ask with a sigh.
Ruina: “No. It is very useful for those who can use magic.” She said.
Celia: “How so?” I ask with a head tilt.
Ruina: “The INT Stat is what determines how powerful a given spell will be when it is cast.” She explained.
Celia: “Ah, I see. So my previous judgment that it is useless, still stands.” I say with a sigh.
Ruina: “Why would it be useless?” She asked with a confused tone.
Celia: “I do not have an MP Stat, nor can I use Mana. So, as I have said, it is a useless Stat at the moment.” I say with a shrug.
Ruina: “…Are you a child?” She scolded.
Celia: “Hey, I look like a child, so I have every right to act like the cute bratty girl that I am.” I say with a proud tone.
Ruina: “Ah… my head hurts. I’ll have you know, I do NOT have a physical body, and I don’t have a brain that would be hurt by you annoying me...” She said with a sigh.
Celia: “So you’re telling me that I gave you a headache, even though you do not possess a head, or rather, a brain that could even ache in the first place?” I ask with a curious tone.
Ruina: “Correct.” She replied with another sigh.
Celia: “Now that I know that I can give you a headache, I shall forever endeavor to do so many more times in the future.” I say with a hearty laugh.
Ruina: “…”
While Ruina was most likely sulking in a corner of her empty space, I went back to mining Mana Crystals. Of course, I acquired those two Skills that Ruina mentioned first, before doing so. Gaining those two Skills, used up most of my SIP’s. And now I only have two left in reserve.
Getting back into the swing of things, in more ways than one, I start mining once more. With the Mining Skill, which was still level 1, mining these deposits were miles easier to actually mine out. Much to my liking.
You know what? Fuck it! I am killing every Primal Goblin in this dungeon, as well as mining every Mana Crystal that I can get my tiny child hands on! Oddly, an hour after I started my mining crusade, I felt as if I was falling into a trance…
