Celia: After Dying in the Apocalypse, I Live Once Again!

Chapter 19: Amazing Surprise!

Hello! This is my latest novel! Unlike my other novels, this one isn't finished yet. The first volume is finished, though. And you can buy it on Amazon here. If you would be so kind, you can also get the first volume(and anything else I've made.) on my Patreon for donating $10 or over that, here. If you wish for updates, the $10 and over tiers will give you access to chapters when I actually finish them. (Maybe one a day? Idk, as I will be mainly working on other novels as well. But, there will at least be one new chapter every few days.)

Chapter 19: Amazing Surprise!

*Yona’s POV*

The frog seemingly got bored of the dungeon, and soon left to explore the outside. We didn’t realize it, but some Goblins have started to explore outside the dungeon. This might be a problem, if the dungeon creatures are leaving their nest, then a break might soon happen…

Well, that won’t be my problem. This dungeon is closer to the human kingdom anyway. As for the frog, they wandered around for a bit, before coming in contact with a few wolves.

The frog was then saved by a bigger frog. We were very surprised by this, but then the big frog tried to kill it. Luckily, it managed to hop away to safety. It then hunkered down inside of a crack in a big rock.

My maids and I went to a nearby tree for shelter. We couldn’t make any camp, since the frog would realize that someone was following them. The frog looked to be sleeping, so we took out some food that my maids packed for us, and started eating.

A few hours after we ate, the being evolved once again. This time, we were composed. We had assumed that it was going to evolve into another monster. When the white light was gone, we were shocked once more…

Rather than a frog, or another random monster, there was now a beautiful little girl sleeping in place of the frog… From what is known about beings that can use the System, it usually takes them around fifty evolutions before they can evolve into a humanoid being… Did we somehow miss most of her evolutions?…

The girl, after sleeping for a few more hours, finally awoke. She looked to be in pain, clearly from the evolution. I would imagine something like that to be very painful. Once she realized what her new body was, she seemed to be very happy.

The girl then ran towards a lake. Once at the lake, she examined her new body. The girl was clearly happy about it, going by the bright smile that appeared on her face.

She then did something curious. She gathered up some sticks, made a circle with some rocks, and then used two rocks to make a small fire. Despite her appearance, it was clear that she wasn’t a child.

With a few sharp sticks in her hands, she went over to the lake, and speared a few fish with them. Then she headed back to the fire, and set up the sticks so that the fish would cook over the fire.

These rings also block our voices from being heard by others, so we discussed on rather or not that I should approach her. If she was just a child, then I would have done so without much thought.

But this girl isn’t a standard reincarnater. From the records, most of them were stated to be extremely confused by their situation, and lacked pretty much all survival skills. Even with them being monsters for a short period of time, they still lacked them. However, this girl knew how to survive.

After much discussion, it was decided that I would go talk to her. It worked out quite well. The girl clearly recognized me, and she was also terrible at lying. The fish that she cooked was obviously very bland. But having come in contact with someone that can use the System, made me smile uncontrollably.

The girl had glanced at my head, clearly looking with curiosity to the two horns on it. Since she could see through my disguise magic, it means that she doesn’t have any negative feelings towards my kind. Something that made me very happy to find out about.

Her intelligence was quite high as well. Although it was a bit cruel to manipulate her like this, I only gave her the knowledge of my language. That way, she is more likely to side with my kind, rather than her own kind.

When she used her System to inspect me, I easily felt it. I already knew that she had a System, but I still needed to act surprised.

I then got to fulfill a childhood dream of mine. I knew that I was quite strong, but there really was no way to quantify my strength. Those with a System can easily know at all times what their strengths and weaknesses are. Something most people cannot know.

Having someone with a System inspect you, means that they can just tell you yours. And the girl, Celia, carefully explained my Status, and even hers. She even detailed her strength, so that I could understand my Status better.

As she explained it, one of my maid wrote down my Status for me. Although it won’t update like Celia’s System, it is still good to have that information down on paper.

After talking for a bit, I gifted her a badge from my family, and a pouch. The pouch was a magical item. When Celia inspected it, she must have come to the conclusion that it was just a normal pouch. Going by the disappointed look on her face.

It is already known how to block the Inspect skill. Objects can block the Inspect skill, but you can’t do the same for living beings. Honestly, the main reason why those that can use the System are so sought after, is that a few of them were able to give others the ability to use the System.

Ah, I went on a tangent. Anyway, the pouch is a magic pouch that can hold way more than it looks like it could hold. I feel bad, but it isn’t exactly an expensive item. I currently have a far better one, and the one that I gave her, was just one that a maid of mine gave up, so that I could give it to Celia.

Eventually, Celia will realize this. And I am sure the expression on her face will be very interesting. I did leave quite a few goodies in it for her to use. I then bid her farewell, and pretended to leave. I walked further into the forest, before activating my ring once more, and then going back to her.

Celia left shortly after I did, and she went into the forest, opposite of the direction that I pretended to leave in. While she was walking, she seemed to be talking to someone. She is most likely talking to her System itself.

The little girl was so damn cute, any random person would have the desire to protect her. Which is exactly what we did. I did tell her that I wouldn’t coddle her, but I will still protect her in secret.

She will most likely get bored of this forest in a few days, and then will head to my kingdom. Until then, we will watch her. Not always, mind you. I have already sent a maid to gather others to protect Celia. If we let her die now, this entire world would be at a loss…

This forest is decently dangerous, but she will quickly hit a wall with her Status. That is, unless she ends up going back to that dungeon… I shall just hope that she doesn’t do that.

The main reason why no one has tried to claim this forest, is because there aren’t any resources in it. And trying to build a fort out here, would be insane. Not to mention absurdly expensive. The various monsters roaming around doesn’t help either. On top of all that, trying to claim this forest, would end up causing a war. Thankfully, no kingdom has tried to do so just yet.

While I was thinking about this niche topic, Celia disappeared from my sight… I was very shocked by this, but I stayed calm. Walking over to where she last was, I could see a hole, that she clearly fell down into.

The hole was dark, but I could see a few feet into it, and I recognize the walls as the same walls from that dungeon. And what’s worse, is that the hole is too small for either me, or my maids to fit through…
