Carnivals: Claimed By The Deranged Alpha Prince [BL]

Chapter 6: Carnivals: School For Supernaturals

Jules' pov

"You're human, aren't you?" The vampire drawled out this time, a sick look settling in his eyes. My heartbeat quickened and I sat up, hastily shaking my head.

"I'm–"

Before I could get more than one word out, the vampire had leaned forward to take a long sniff at me.

"You smell good… you know what you smell like?" The vampire drawl and I faintly shook my head. His fangs glistened as he dragged a tongue over the tips while staring down at him.

"You smell like my next meal." He murmured and then he let out an airy laugh, one which made all my nerves rattle.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

This wasn't going well at all! It's all happening wrongly!

When I had been having this conversation in my head in the dorm last night, the conversations had all went smoothly. In my head, when the kids had been curious about what breed of supernatural classification I belonged to, I had easily rattled off the back story I had mastered in a few minutes.

It had sounded so easy in my head last night.

But right now? It was all going in the completely opposite direction!

"I'm not human!" I cried out desperately, needing them to take my words for it, while I was literally lying through my teeth right now. The thought of being regarded as human by people here left a sick feeling in my guts.

The dragon folded his hands. "What the fuck are you then?"

I took in a deep breath before starting to speak. "I – my wolf is currently dormant… I'm yet to experience my first shift, so…"

I trailed off, hoping that would be enough of an explanation to them. The third student who had joined the vampire and the dragon minutes ago arched a brow before snorting.

"…so, that means you're technically still a human, dummy. Until your werewolf side awakens, you're nothing but a human." The student continued to explain and as he spoke, the urge to puke increased in my guts.

"Like I said before, you smelled like my next meal. I'm definitely gonna have so much fun with you, pretty little thing." The vampire began once again, laughing maniacally.

As I regarded the three students in horror, feeling tongue tied and not knowing what to say, we remained like that until a teacher arrived in the class.

As the students noticed the presence of the teacher, most of them began to sink into their seats and set their studying materials on their desks, but the three students in front of me are yet to move away from my table.

"Please settle down everyone." The teacher's voice filled the room and I kept waiting for her to order these fucking bullies to leave my desk and head to their seats, but that didn't happen until after long minutes before she finally spoke.

"Malachi, Ken and Devin, please leave the new student alone, the class is about to commence." As the teacher spoke, confusion settled in my bones because it sounded like the teacher was almost begging them to leave me and not ordering them to do so… like a normal teacher was supposed to.

The hell?

The first two students pulled away almost immediately but the vampire remained glued to my desk, eyes still locked with mine until he finally slowly rose to his full height and casually walked to the back of the class to take a seat beside his friend.

My confusion only heightened when the teacher thanked the three bullies once they were in their seats.

What the hell happens in this school? Is this a normal occurrence…?

Those thoughts were still running through my head when I slowly stiffened on noticing everyone's eyes on me, and that was when I realized that the teacher had been calling my name.

She didn't look annoyed that I had clearly zoned out minutes ago. Instead, a sympathetic look was on her face as she spoke again.

"Jules, right?"

I bit on my bottom lip as I nodded my head. "Um, yeah."

"Would you like to come give a quick introduction of yourself to the class?" She asked in a soft voice again and I silently cursed in my mind as I reluctantly got to my feet and trudged to the front of the class.

The entire class had their eyes on me and it made me extremely uneasy and nervous. I let out a nervous breath as I began to speak.

"Hi everyone. I'm Jules, and my family recently moved over here, which is why I'm here now. I hope to enjoy my stay here." I mumbled, purposely refusing to look at the back of the class and as I spoke. I noticed a few students snorting at the end of my sentence, causing me to purse my lips as I returned to my seat, already convinced that this school was certainly something else.

The teacher thanked me and proceeded to commence teaching. As she teached, I realized that every damn thing happening here was completely different from how it happened back at home.

The school I was previously attending taught lessons differently. We didn't make use of a white board and neither did we have to learn anything that didn't involve magic.

After spending thirty minutes into the class, I realized that I was utterly and completely fucked.

Andrian had urged me to pay attention in class and focus on passing the classes, but how was I supposed to do that when I didn't understand anything that was being taught? How the hell were the other students coping?

Once the class came to an end, I let out a sigh of relief as I watched the teacher exit the class.

The sigh of relief quickly morphed into one of dread when the three bullies from before casually strode past my desk. The vampire reached out and shoved my head, causing it to slam into the open book on my desk. I could do nothing but scowl in anger as the three students laughed as they exited the classroom.

Mother fuckers.

I combed back my hair with a scowl still plastered over my face, anger churning inside of me from irritation and mortification. I've barely spent three hours in this damn school today and all of this has already happened to me.

Could anything else still happen today? I think not.

"Sorry about the trio-vile." A voice murmured beside me and I whipped my head sideways to stare at the source.

It was from a bunny shifter, I could instantly tell from his scent. He offered a small smile on noticing my stare.

"The what?" I echoed in confusion. He nodded at the entrance of the classroom.

"The three guys who had been bullying you before the teacher arrived." The boy explained and I slowly nodded my head in understanding.

"Oh, those." I breathed out and then I folded my bands on the desk and leaned sideways.

"Was that a normal occurrence though?" I questioned, wanting to confirm if my initial intuition had been correct. The boy pursed his lips and slowly nodded his head in response.

"Yeah, it pretty much is."

I blinked in disgust. "Wow… that's fucked up."

The boy let out a small laugh before giving me a pointed look. "I guess so, but… what isn't fucked up about this school?"

I waited for him to elaborate but nothing else came forth, instead, he offered a hand out with a broad smile on his face.

"Anyways, I'm Taylor."

I stared at his hand for a moment. Back at home, we do not exchange handshakes, that was for something else entirely.

I guess it's high time I start to understand that indeed, things work differently here in New York.

I accepted the handshake and forced a smile on my face, because I'd rather be anywhere but here right now.

"I'm Jules."

Taylor let out a small laugh as he got to his feet. "Yeah, I think everyone gathered that when you introduced yourself in front of the class."

As he spoke, I suddenly felt dumb and felt like I was supposed to defend myself, but before I could get another word out, he was packing his studying materials and arching a brow at him.

"So, you coming?"

I blinked at him in confusion. "To where?"

"To the next thing on the timetable, duh." He explained with a giggle and I forced out an awkward laugh as I stood up and began to pack my books.

Right, how could I have forgotten that. The principal had mentioned it yesterday but I had completely forgotten about that.

"Have you picked up yours yet?" Taylor asked and I shook my head.

"That's alright, we can go pick it up together first."
