“Well, well, if it isn’t Miki, and she’s brought guests!” Sun Wukong looked up at the three of them. Fiery red eyes with golden pupils, these were Sun Wukong's world-renowned Eyes of Truth.
“Hmm? What strange guests. The aura of an earth mother goddess? The aura of a dragon? But human body? What are you?” Golden light radiated from his Eyes of Truth as they focused on Haru. Sun Wukong voiced his confusion.
“Eh? Didn’t you see, This is the Godslayer.” Toujou Miki looked at Sun Wukong curiously. Having spent many years with him, she knew the power of his Eyes of Truth. Though they couldn't see through disguises, they could discern affiliations.
“Impossible. In my eyes, he is... no! What god are you to have escaped mythology?” Sun Wukong’s divine power surged, his eyes widening, and the Eyes of Truth blazed with brilliant light, shining upon Haru.
His gaze pierced through Haru’s flesh, and when he saw the Golden Core within, his face was filled with shock.
“Hey! Don’t go changing my race on a whim! First an earth mother goddess, then a dragon, and now a god.” Haru looked at the monkey in front of him, dumbfounded.
His Core started to spin. This monkey was probably asleep for too long and had gone senile. A good beating would probably sort him out.
Seeing the movement of the Core within Haru, Sun Wukong’s eyes flashed, as if he had realized something.
“I see, a child of the earth! The primordial earth mother who birthed you went to great lengths.”
“I didn’t see her go to any lengths.” Haru had finally understood that Sun Wukong was referring to Pandora. Having undergone a blood exchange with Pandora, and with his current Golden Core attuned to the world’s rules, Haru was practically a divine manifestation on Earth, much like Jesus to Yahweh, more god than man.
“Unfortunately, because of the curse, I can’t kill you right here and now.” Sun Wukong sighed regretfully. So, it was another attempt by Gaia to manipulate a god’s descendant and alter mythology, just like she had with Cronus.
And judging by the aura within him, it seemed multiple earth goddesses had participated.
“Oh, I can’t let that slide!” Hearing the word "kill," Haru’s veins bulged on his forehead. This monkey had too much confidence. If they really fought, it wasn’t clear who would win. He slowly activated his Steel Incarnation Authority.
At that moment, the monkey, who had been lounging lazily in the hay, suddenly leaped up, his eyes wide. “What are you? You even have a Godslayer’s Authority!”
Toujou Miki stood behind Sun Wukong, her teeth gritted, her forehead creased, and her hand shot out to pinch his face, stretching it outwards. “I told you, he’s the Godslayer! Can you listen to me properly, you damn monkey?!”
“Ah, eh, Godslayer? What kind of Authority turned you into this? You Godslayers have such bizarre powers.” His face stretched out of shape, Sun Wukong’s words were slurred.
Noticing the problem, he quickly turned his head, freeing himself from Toujou Miki’s grasp. His voice returned to normal.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to kill me? Come on then!” Haru flexed his fingers, his body radiating golden light as the phantom of Fafnir slowly materialized.
“Well, that’s what I said, but I can’t break free from the curse. There are conditions for me to take action. Although the Miko of Calamity is here, she hasn’t brought the sacred blade, and we’re missing the most important element: the dragon manifestation.”
Sun Wukong turned around and sprawled back on the hay, speaking in a flat tone, completely unlike his heroic image from mythology. He sounded like a weary old man.
“Besides, if you use the Calamity power one more time, you’ll die, little Miki… That’s right, the last time we met, according to the human calendar, was a hundred years ago! You’ve only managed to live this long thanks to Toshogu Shrine concentrating the spiritual energy of all the ley lines in the Far East.”
Sun Wukong looked at Toujou Miki with indifference. As a god, he had witnessed countless human deaths. Even the imminent passing of a long-time companion couldn't move his heart.
Sora stared at Toujou Miki, shocked. She couldn’t believe that the young woman in front of her, so radiant and beautiful, was actually on the verge of death. “Toujou Miki is so young, how could she be dying?”
“No, as long as you Enhance your magical energy to the purest state, you can maintain your youth, but death is inevitable. … If you want to learn, I can teach you when we get back.”
Toujou Miki explained. Seeing Sora’s eyes sparkling with interest when she mentioned eternal youth, she knew what Sora was thinking. With a wry smile, she agreed to teach her.
“I know a way to break the curse on your body,” Haru said confidently, looking at Sun Wukong. As long as the curse was made of energy, his egg could annihilate it in an instant.
Toujou Miki looked at the confident Haru, her face filled with panic. Because of the lack of a dragon, she had assumed Haru couldn’t break the seal.
which was why she had dared to bring him here. She hadn’t even brought the sacred blade, clearly not wanting Sun Wukong to be released. But now, seeing Haru's demeanor, it seemed he had come prepared. She felt a deep sense of unease.
“If I knew where it was, I would’ve found a way to break the curse myself. Do you think I’d wait for you?” Sun Wukong looked at Haru with disdain.
After all, Sun Wukong had Enhanced his magic under the tutelage of the Cult Leader Subhuti, mastering seventy-two transformations. He had also studied Buddhist dharma, and his mastery of magic was second to none among the gods.
Haru was dumbfounded. If he didn’t know the location of the curse, even his egg couldn’t do anything. Was this all for nothing?
Looking at Sun Wukong’s amused expression, Haru felt his lips twitch. His attempt to show off had backfired. What should he do now? The egg was already trembling, eager to eat, but he couldn’t make a meal out of this monkey.
That’s it! Haru suddenly had an idea. He grabbed Sun Wukong's arm and let the egg activate its annihilation power. “Sorry, just testing something.”
Sun Wukong stared in shock at his left arm, where there was now nothing. “Calamity!” he cried out in alarm.
