Bring Justice to those Who Dare to Harm my Beloved Daughter (The Villainess)!

Chapter 1.5 - So, This is Turning Into a Much Bigger Deal Than I Thought

The monster attack on the Fischer Marquisate shook the entire nation.

This was because the Fischer Marquisate was located near the royal capital.

A wide-area barrier system, created using magical tools, surrounds the royal castle to keep monsters away. However, even the most advanced magical tools can’t cover the entire country. To compensate, the government distributes “barrier stones,” specialized magical tools, to towns and villages based on their size.

Each village and town has barrier stones, prepared and maintained by the local lords as part of their noble duty, Adel Verpflichtung. The magical energy required to sustain these barriers also comes from the lord’s family.

Flying monsters rarely approach the royal capital. Their strong territorial instincts keep them confined to specific areas. The only plausible explanation would be an “Out of Control” phenomenon. However, reports from the mountainous regions monitoring their habitats indicate no such signs.

And yet, a monster managed to breach the barrier and attack the estate of a high-ranking noble. The incident was so shocking that even newspapers catering to the commoners featured it prominently.

I remembered this event after it had already unfolded. This was one of the pre-main-story events in the game—a tragedy known as “The Fischer Family’s Calamity,” detailed in the game’s supplementary materials.

Although briefly mentioned in the main game, it provides backstory for Emma Fischer, a side character and one of the heroine’s combat supporters. Emma was a victim of this attack, suffering a severe head injury. According to the game, she was captured by a flying monster, dropped from a great height, and barely survived thanks to a tree that broke her fall. However, a branch slashed her forehead, leaving a prominent horizontal scar.

One of the game’s sub-events involves helping Emma confess her feelings to a secondary character she secretly admires. A noblewoman with a visible scar is considered undesirable, leaving her with no prospects for marriage. Despite this, Emma harbors feelings for one of the heroine’s supporting characters. In the event, the player encourages her to overcome her fears, bringing the two closer.

The supporting character also has feelings for Emma, but they’re stuck in a “mutual pining” phase. Emma hesitates, thinking, “I’m damaged goods,” while the supporting character worries, “I’m of too low a status.” Players guide the heroine to help the two finally confess their feelings, creating a rollercoaster of emotions for the players, who cheer them on while shouting, “Just get together already!”

The sub-event was surprisingly well-received, even inspiring a spin-off novel. I remember buying and reading it, crying over their struggles. The novel revealed their inner thoughts, showcasing how their mutual care led to misunderstandings and heartbreak. It was an emotional journey!

I digress.

The Emma of this timeline is the same as the one from the game. She was supposed to suffer a major injury, but now, even the minor scar on her abdomen has almost completely healed.

…Oops, I changed the plot. ☆ (Tehepero)

But since I’ve already altered the storyline with Lulu, I guess it doesn’t matter anymore.

Now, why am I going on about this?

“The Fischer family is deeply grateful…”
“No, no, there’s no need to go that far!”

The Marquis and Marchioness of Fischer were bowing deeply in the reception room of my residence. They lowered their heads so much that I could see the tops of their heads.

For nobles, bowing to someone is akin to showing submission. Especially revealing the crown of their head—it’s almost equivalent to declaring allegiance. Such an act is typically reserved for the King and Queen alone.

I hurriedly had them raise their heads and take a seat.

“I only acted as the representative head of the Lehman Dukedom. It was my duty and not something that warrants such excessive gratitude.”
“No, had you not been there to shoot down that monster, our younger daughter Emma would have been abducted. In fact, our elder daughter Lena was also attacked.”

Lena, if I recall correctly, is the same age as Markus. Markus once described her as “the most brilliant student of their year.”

“If you hadn’t been there, I would have hesitated in my decisions. It’s thanks to your presence that Emma was saved with almost no injuries.”

Why did Emma suffer severe injuries in the game?

It was because the Marquis of Fischer arrived late. Additionally, in the game, Wolfgang wasn’t accompanying Lulu. Lulu did attend the event but was brought there by a relative.

In the game, there were two monsters: a bird-type monster that attacked the garden and a wolf-type monster that assaulted Lena in the stables. The Marquis arrived in time to save Lena but had to leave her when he heard that Emma was being attacked. While trying to save both daughters, the wolf monster wasn’t completely subdued, leading to Lena’s severe injury. Emma, meanwhile, was dropped from a great height by the bird monster.

However, in this timeline, my presence at the Marquisate prevented the tragedy. The Marquis trusted me to handle the bird monster, allowing him to focus entirely on the wolf monster, ensuring both daughters’ safety.

“…If anything, you should thank the Marchioness. She insisted I join the garden tea party instead of discussing work elsewhere.”
“Indeed, I owe my wife for her judgment.”
“All I did was prevent Sir Zonta from leaving Lady Luise alone…”
“But because of your judgment, Emma was saved. Thank you, Angelica.”

The Marchioness’s cheeks flushed. These two are rumored to have had an arranged marriage, but they seem quite close.

“Now, as for how the monsters managed to attack… One of the barrier stones was destroyed.”
“I see.”
“The troubling part is how it was destroyed—it appears to have been deliberately sabotaged, despite being secured.”

Wait, what!?

My brow furrowed as I processed this revelation. The Marquis wore a similar expression, letting out a small sigh.

It seems the situation is far more serious than I initially thought. The King has called an emergency noble council to address the matter. Whether this deviation from the game’s story is due to my intervention or some hidden detail left unexplored in the game, I don’t know.

Regardless, my priority remains unchanged: to ensure Lulu’s happiness.
