Chapter 46 — Mortal’s Terror (3)
Mortal's Terror (3)
Right as Tongqiu entered this thing's insides from between its shoulders- he discovered, quite abruptly, that everything was dark or rather, empty. Totally empty.
Having literally nothing to do, Tongqiu started to hear unimaginable muffled explosion sounds coming from outside, it even felt as if everything around him was being poked without a stop from those explosions.
As Tongqiu started to lose the sensation of his own body, a wide yet short current of light-blue fiery energy that was fluctuating immensely fast. descended from right above Tongqiu.
Not even having realized that there could actually still exist something, and colorful at that, in this thoroughly empty space; Tongqiu watched in wonder with his eyes wide open as the light blue energy kept on descending right in front of Tongqiu, approximately a meter and a half away from him.
The fiery energy current suddenly made quite the instant U turn before heading right towards Tongqiu, this time from below him. From the always fluctuating light blue energy at great speeds, an 'extension' of it separated from its 'main body' with the size of 3 male human arms together as it softly caressed Tongqiu's right cheek.
'Eh? This... a face?!' When he was touched by that current-like hand, Tongqiu didn't gave it much thought since he'd already realized it must've been one of the Fallen Summoner, as for why or which one- it didn't matter. He then, however, saw an extremely delicate, cute and adorable face of a young woman as if a mirage was showcasing him what he should see.
"Mmh, you do can see me, at least." The delicate girl's face spoke, spooking Tongqiu a little, was this one of those notorious playful child ghosts? Uh-oh.
"With your Mental Pro- AH!? The hell ya' thinking on, fucker? Hurry up and say you're sorry! You think is fun to think of this projection of mine a ghost? FUCKER, if you don't apologize, when I..." As the delicate girl's face was continuing talking to Tongqiu, she suddenly snapped as her face turned ferocious. Her ferocious look made her incomprehensibly irresistible for the eyes-wolfing Tongqiu; her frown reminded him of Diana's as both of them had the daintiness of their eyebrows as well as their 'ferocious' deformation between their eyebrows which Tongqiu was so damn gone for. They both had this remarkable and easily to notice crease on their glabella, both had a kind of face structure which made such an easily ugly frown become instead fairy-like beauty.
She had a small elegant nose, orange colored honey rose lips while her azure-golden colored eyes where simply impossible for Tongqiu to draw his eyes elsewhere right after seeing them for merely an instant. Her hair was of an alluring yet pure; neutral blonde yet lighter in color which even seemed to be crystal clear-transparent when looking it at certain angles. Her hair length was medium-short as she had a wild rough style to it, yet it looked extraordinarily neat and orderly.
"Aiya... pervert~." The young woman, seeing Tongqiu stare at her as if she was a miracle, became befuddled before foolishly answering with a sweet smile.
It was at that moment when Tongqiu's Mental Power finally kicked in and gave him enough clarity to notice the status windows of what he was looking at, her:
[Saddened Fallen Summoner, Astral Projection]: Type: Fake-Soul(Image), Grade: ???, Level: none, HP: none. The soul of a Fallen is colorful depending on their path and profession; it's entirely different to the manifestation of their Essence, as the soul of a Fallen leads towards the condensing of their sorrowful being. But every single soul of a Fallen has the appearance of a current made from flame-like energy, always fluctuating at enormous speeds without ever stopping, even while dissipating. This soul, however, is entirely fake as it was mostly remade by the G?? and G?? in their greed of stealing such knowledge and Talents, yet utterly failed and could only mold it into a Fallen while sacrificing an entirety of boundless resources.
"Ah, so... this, are you the only one that can still talk... communicate?" Tongqiu tactfully changed the subject as he kept on gazing at her eyes, before turning his head to all sides, trying to get a glimpse of something else.
The delicate girl's face was tilted as she looked at Tongqiu, four parts in wonder and three in attentiveness as she then 'woke up' before responding: "Mm? Ah! Yea, only me- Whyy~?"
"Uh... Fallen, thingy...? Right, what's your name, little girl?" Tongqiu was confused somewhat; but he recuperated a little as he politely smiled and then asked an actual decent question for once.
"Mm, can't even look at me like the big, strong and handsome man you appear to be, phwahg, what a joke. Rather, tell me how someone such as a weakling little ant like you has such immense... power; Mental Power that is, you're utterly oblivious on how to use it rather than hack and slash and even thrust, phewg." The delicate girl's face answered insipidly yet provocatively once again and this time Tongqiu was truly left speechless.
Tongqiu merely answered in a mild tone: "How can I know? Even my... uh... 'employer'... doesn't know shit, how can I know shit? Do you, do you know shit? BECAUSE I DON'T!!"
"Ah." The young woman retracted her head as her face had a funny expression on it, even more so thanks to her position. "Well... it's crystal water ice clear you're quite... stressed? Ah, here let this Big- ah, wait, I liked you calling me 'Little Sister'... mou... alright whatever. Look, we are not entirely alone, yet we are, at the same time, plop!"
As she was then answering Tongqiu with a similar nonsense spouting, she then mumbled something which made Tongqiu's heart and he himself smile in tenderness; but, she then said a few strange words before actually saying with her mouth 'plop!' as she made a gesture with her left hand before snapping her fingers.
And what Tongqiu saw around him was quite the spectacle...
Basically, there he was completely surrounded by 10 meters or so unnecessarily enlarged figures, mostly human-looking. They were all pale-dark blue colored and after Tongqiu counted them, he realized... these were actually the very same 14 Fallen Summoners from before. Before, they had the Fallen 'stylish' appearance, but now they looked like sad, creepy borderless painting, all looking at him quietly as if waiting for his next move.
Understanding just that, Tongqiu slowly glanced back a the delicate, cute and adorable young woman which was now sweetly, quietly and gently smiling at him. Then, she spoke, every word as if heavenly bells couldn't help but resonate with: "Then, will you help them, right?"
"...I can't, I can't even 'understand' their information... what are they?!" Tongqiu asked her exasperatedly.
"Oh? They are less than Fallen now, even Fallen aren't as tragic as this; they at least have 'it'."
"Ah? Have what?" Tongqiu continued his dullard questioning.
"Oh, how silly. They don't exist anymore, now that's tragic, they are no longer being even, something that Fallen definitely do have." She answered wisely, Tongqiu had the sensation she was now teaching him, of course he didn't understood shit.
"Huh? Oh, well. I don't understand that, but okay, thank you." As he smiled politely once again, Tongqiu subconsciously extended his hand towards her.
The young woman: "..."
Tongqiu: "..."
"Seriously! Am I supposed to suddenly grow a hand that isn't non-physical or something, you fucker? AGGGHHH! Just go look down, up to you. And also..." When the little girl could no longer handle it, she snapped at Tongqiu once again, he could only bitterly smile in return.
"Well, anyways... I've already seen through you, so- given that you are capable, and that they're not even existing yet still suffering, you'll grant them death, yes?" The young woman's face was growing blurry, her current-shaped energy was now rapidly vanishing as the light surrounding him began to slip away as well.
Noticing he didn't had more time, Tongqiu gave a final resolute... and long stare at the young woman, making her blush from such shamelessness as he said: "I uh... nice to meet you."
The girl's eyes shone for less than an instant before nodding her head gracefully, as she finally dissipated away right in front of Tongqiu.
After some time, Tongqiu was about to look below him when he suddenly discovered he could actually 'see'; 'see' as of with both his eyes, not just the left non-bleeding like a pig eye, but the right one as well!
'That...!!!' He was confused, extremely confused since the only thing he could still feel once he entered this space inside the Mortal's Terror body was his profusely bleeding right eye and nose but now that he touched his face once again, he discovered some slight traces of black liquid obviously revealing itself to be dried blood!
Though it was stupid and hurtful, Tongqiu decided to poke his right eye with his index finger and right after an 'OW!' was heard in this empty, overwhelming dark space, the sound of Tongqiu little chuckles was heard. Not even mental fatigue! He was completely healed up, what the fuckery was this?
He must repay this girl... she was really nice too, really nice.
He then looked below him as a muddy green brilliant sphere with brownish aura partially surrounding it. Around 150 meters away from him.
He did his best lo lower himself towards it, at the same time, he realized that absence of muffled explosion going on about unceasingly. Taking a hint for haste, Tongqiu rapidly moved towards whatever the thing down there was. At the moment he was mere meters before it, he felt a sensation which was to basically: 'take out the essential weapons, use them!'. But he knew it wasn't such a simple thing, and even if it was, he still didn't know what to even do.
So when he finally reached the sphere, his hands extending towards it, Tongqiu had an epiphany! Instead of taking his essential weaponry right away, he rather sent his thoughts in remembrance to whenever he entered the 'abnormal' state and his essential weaponry 'unlocked' a new pair of arms, hands and even nails for him.
After what seemed to be three puny little seconds, Tongqiu's arms started growing a different color for each of his arms, beginning once again the all-too familiar transformation of his arms before his eyes; without the need of his essential weaponry this time.
This time though, his arms reached an obviously higher level of 'transformation' which was infinitely closer to his shoulder blades and his claw-like nails seemed a little more thick and pointy.
With his hands 'inside'the sphere, Tongqiu didn't had to wait even a second as he got a notification prompt quite instantly.
*PING*... host has found Fake-Essence; host can decide whether to turn it into 300,000 SP or steal it with the aid of host's mysterious abilities.
"Steal!" Tongqiu shouted his answer without hesitation. Not to mention that 300k SP would leave his side right away, he also didn't need it for urgently for a MAX upgrade or something when his skills were mostly about damage. Besides, who knows when he'd have another opportunity to 'collect' this Essence which was still completely unknown to Tongqiu, but could still offer him benefits anyway.
*PING*... host has decided to steal this Fake-Essence with the aid of host's mysterious abilities; now on progress...
Right before such a notification appeared before him, Tongqiu's essential weaponry appeared hovering around his stretched arms as the then suddenly made a vacuum motion towards the sphere which was now visibly shrinking to a rapid pace!
Meanwhile, Mortal's Terror was now obviously aware that the little ant has entered its body, it was using its hands as knives and started cutting at itself on where ribs are supposed to be. In this obviously empty space, however, it was exactly where Tongqiu was approximately. Ignoring the repetitive horrid sounds of flesh tearing apart and the unceasing rumbling inside the empty space, Tongqiu managed to finally reduce the previous sphere which dissipated right after it shrunk to the size of a speck of dust as he received another notification.
*PING*... Fake-Essence has been stolen and converted into pure small amounts of essence. Host receives Mind Power+15.
'Well, it's better than let this abomination use it, I guess.' Without waiting for the Mortal's Terror to find him itself and then grab him to flung around his body to death; Tongqiu didn't notice how his essential weaponry were slightly trembling as if in excitement and how his 'transformation' at his arms were already millimetres away from reaching his shoulder blades; and when he did, one of Mortal's Terror's hands were already about to once again hit its own torso which was the perfect timing for his 'surprise' attack, as such, without the opportunity to get lost in thoughts again Tongqiu immediately shoot his wideshot before dashing outwards.
MPI-SVING!!!!
-220,320.
PUK-BKOM
GRWAAAAAARGGGH!
Unsurprisingly, its insides didn't grant him another few extra points of damage; that place may really be another space altogether. Such immediate thought made Tongqiu's entire body shiver for a second. Who knows if he was observed? And who know by how many?
Shaking his head lightly, Tongqiu then turned around to look towards the thing as it was standing back up again with its little bizarre legs. Mortal's Terror HP: [1,080,773/2,550,000].
As if being fucking annoyed and tired of Tongqiu and his way too powerful wideshots, it directly started summoning a red colored formless blade in front of its stomach. Seeing this, Tongqiu's eyes were filled with determination as he sprinted away from Mortal's Terror body, intending on testing out a new idea.
TSUM!~
Being around 500 metres away from it, the formless blade had the opportunity to boost up a total of 4 times before reaching Tongqiu. While he himself was simply waiting for the formless blade to arrive. His pupils fiercely constricted as the image of a formless red colored blade was already mere instants away from reaching his position!
Tongqiu felt an overwhelming tremor on his lower abdomen, he took out his essential bow -nothing else- as his arms first took hold of each side of the bow, before using it as if it was a blade and about to parry that attack with the bow's body. Tongqiu waited for the perfect moment, just like how the Ferret parried or blocked every single one of his attacks at the beginning without being able to injure it in the slightest. Just like every single attack from the Ferret became instead like a joke to him after merely a few hours of 'training', he intended to use his essential weapon to turn back this stupidly overpowered skill towards its caster and put it down like a dog!
Ha-POON!!
A verdant-gloomy colored flash of a crescent moon appeared right before Tongqiu as the incoming red colored formless blade was absurdly turned around in an instant, its aim was exactly towards the head of the creepy ass Mortal's Terror!
PONG~!
*PING*... Mortal's Terror has fallen into a stunned state.
Though the motherfucker didn't received damage from that, it nonetheless gave Tongqiu an opportunity of bombarding it with wideshots free of worries.
-2,782, -2,769, -2,753, -2,781, -5,450, -2,812...
Mortal's Terror HP: [597,098/2,550,000].
As the Mortal's Terror HP was now depleted, so were Tongqiu's resources as he rapidly took out his Sunfacing Brilliant Gladiuses. Interchanging between his essential weaponry and his double Magical grade swords became as common as breathing in and out for Tongqiu. He hadn't noticed yet, but even his aiming with a bow has already become unparalleled in terms of human potential, even in a videogame. The only downside to this incredible growth is the fact that he didn't had any fast-paced skills available to make a combo; in other words, a chain skillset.
Even if he had Tongqiu's Rain Showdown, that was merely a global type of AOE which he could do with any kind of weapon, and thanks to his extremely unique class, it didn't matter what kind of weapon nor their grade, since he would do the same amount of damage, except the shadows from his Tongqiu's Rain Showdown skill would just be shaped differently.
If he could really have a chain skillset... even if it didn't had the glorious and massive damage that his skill combustion had, or the effect that Battle Frenzy could give; Battle Frenzy is really scary when finally gathering all those stacks but, it is a long time needed for that. And when it comes to these types of fights, sometimes Tongqiu can't even get the maximum amount of stacks, precisely because of the level disparity and the way too high of a grade. Besides, his gear didn't gave him any actual bonuses when it came to any Defense nor any Power; though he could successfully make use of other stats like Critical Hit Rate, Dodge, Hit Rate and probably some not mentioned -on purpose- hidden functions as well, but, how long until he gets an item like that? From the game's descriptions, Magical grades should be virtually impossible to obtain, yet there's tens of thousands of players who by any means have at least 1 Magical grade Equipment from what he's seen on the forums but, yet none of those gave stats that he could make use of.
His inferring was that that only higher graded weapons would make it worth it for him to wear. He was sure that there should be some sets in the future that barely gave any main basic attributes or none at all, in exchange, it had those effects he desperately needed instead. But for that to happen, according to his knowledge, a month was required for those items to be available and who knows how damn hard they would be to obtain, who knows if he'll end up needing to do some lame ass quest or buying it from a greedy scumbag player, sigh.
...
Author's Note: I'd like to clarify something, BOSSes don't excel in Defense or Attack, unless they're an extremely unique BOSS; like a named BOSS or NPC. They all excel, however, in their HP. And the defense they have can't be too much nor too little, yet Tongqiu's attack is always improving, and with Battle Frenzy he can get stronger and more fearful DPS. Also, maybe the Sorrowful Glorious Crown needs an upgrade? :_o .
