Chapter 84: Spirits
When Ezekiel woke up the first thing he felt was an intense migraine, it was so painful he wanted to scream but all he could do was groan.
He began to use his life affinity to heal himself but all it did was reduce the pain.
He opened his eyes to look around but his vision was blocked by a strange... creature?
A little pinecone with a face was staring at him.
When it saw his eyes open it clapped its little hands and floated away, he sighed and just decided to check the notifications he had gotten when he had been overwhelmed by the poison and his fatigue.

He saw the multiple lines of text and got incredibly curious so he looked at his own body through his mana sense, inside of it he saw the mana veins he had before now appeared denser and flowed with mana.
He did not really know what the effect of it was as the description of the skill only say that it invigorated mana.
Soon he tried to sit up and with this motion he heard someone begin rushing over.

He felt a hand on his back and a large demoness looked him in the eye.
"Are you ok Belial?"
It was the other demoness called ashbringer, she had such genuine concern in her eyes that it shocked him for a moment before he tried to speak.
"Yeah... i'm ok thanks... can I get a drink?"
She looked him over as if confirming what he said and then she nodded, she stood and went over to the campfire she had been tending to grab... a tea kettle?
"You hurt your voice last night, tea will help."
She gave him a cup full of a deep red liquid, it smelled incredible but he had not heard of a tea that wasn't yellow...
Then again he didn't drink much tea himself.
When he took a sip it tasted incredibly strong as if he were sipping coffee but it was not the bitter thing he was used to.
'This is amazing... is real tea this good?'
He began to drink it in longer sips before looking up at the demoness.
"Thank you, it's really good..."
For just a moment she had a large smile before she cleared her throat and stood up.
"You rest, I will go tell my sister that you're awake."
After saying this she stood up to leave and just before she was out of sight he saw an expression of anger on her face.
While she was gone he continued to enjoy his tea and that was when the little pinecone creature showed back up.
"Oh... hello again, what might you be?"
The little creature waved at him and held up a small book, it was a book with a silver glow.
'Is that... is that a skill book?!'
He slowly moved to take the book and check it's status.

'Oh then I guess this must be a spirit, strange.'
He learned the skill and soon he could understand the little noises of the pinecone spirit.
"You hear now yes? You understand?"
He nodded at the little thing, then he looked around the area.
"What's a spirit?"
He knew from other games and old stories that spirits had various versions, they even had different names.
For example the fae myths would overlap with the spirits of the old english myths, there were also spirits that even older civilizations believed in.
These various stories were adapted into games and stories throughout human history with many variations but they often had the same themes.
They were creatures that lived in the natural world and their existence depended upon the natural world remaining, in many stories the expansion of civilization made the existence of spirits difficult as more of their homes were destroyed.
"We are spirits of course! I am a spirit of one of the trees you saved, I asked to be the one to follow you!"
'Follow me?'
"Why exactly are the spirits following me?"
The spirit jumped up and down happily.
"We are watching to understand you, test you, that is all I may say."
After this the spirit began to climb on his until it was inside of his hood, he was mildly annoyed by how pushy it was being but he decided to let go of his annoyance.
'It's a cute thing, not like it would hurt much to have.'
He decided to lay against a tree and finish his tea, the warmth of it helped his throat and even made his headache feel significantly better.
With his chance to train on hold while he was forced to wait for the sisters to get there he decided to practice his magic instead.
He began to use his mana to create his void mana claws again and again, each time tryimg to refine the process.
He began by creating the thin edge that would act as the sharp claw before he infused mana to make it denser and sharper.
The back of the claw was filled sith mana until it got denser and sturdier than even a normal blade.
With the process done he tried to make it faster and faster with each creation to hopefully make the system recognize it as a spell.
The issue with making a mana construct into a spell was that it seemed to require a few things that he wasn't sure of yet.
By making a mana construct he could do damage with it yes but it did not gain the same damage buffing effects that his spells did.
With only the construct he would receive the damage of his intelligence stat with the bonus damage of his affinity and his core affinity.
By turning these constructs into a spell he could gain the benefits of every spell bonus he had.
He finally had a breakthrough once he thought of making the constructs larger, like a gauntlet.
With his hands covered in the mana now he felt that something was going differently, he could feel the spell was taking a better shape with more than just the simplistic coaws he had made.
He began to use his mana to create more of the gauntlets until his arms were covered to the elbows.
He also made his constructs cover his wings, they were like sharp blades with shadowfire mana constructs like armor covering the muscles of his two wings.
He looked like a warrior with black, burning armor and as soon as he got the design how he liked it he tried again.
He practiced more and more until he could create the armor in a single second.

Spell Recognized- Mana Armament.
Mana Armament lv1 (E)
Create armor made from mana, by infusing one's own elemental affinity they can create armor that has greater defense against the element used as well as applying elemental effects on strikes made with the armor.
~~~~~~~~~~
He sighed in relief as he successfully made that armor, once he was done he tried it out and each time used a different element.
With the shadow affinity armor he felt a chill and his strikes created lines of consumption.
With the fire affinity armor he felt warmth and his strikes left behind fire to burn his target.
The strange one was the life affinity, his strikes did nothing special but he felt like he was able to recover faster with it on.
It was not as special as making raw life affinity constructs to contain the mana if other types but it was incredible nonetheless.
With the triumph of his new spell he was ready to face the two demons that were supposed to be watching him... but no one was there.
He was there with the little spirit for nearly an hour before they finally appeared.
"I apologize for allowing you to be taken away young de- Belial... I am sorry for allowing you to be take away Belial."
While she was speaking he had seen that Kira had been jabbed in the side by her sister the moment she began to use her normal name for him.
"Uh... it's fine? What happened to the guy anyway did you kill him?"
The two nodded and Kira gave a savage grin.
"It was an otherworlder, I remember your elf friend said that your kind can be slain repeatedly until they have been forced back to the lowest level. I wish we could find him again."
He nodded but he was curious about why someone was so desperate to get to him that they dragged him away like that.
'Oh well, once im gone it wont matter.'
