Lothar Von Ruppin-''The weak obey, the strong rule''

POV of Lothar Von Ruppin

''What...are you...doing...have you gone mad?'', said a man who was sitting on a chair.

''I am only carrying out my orders heathen, you made the mistake of letting yourself be fooled, and now you have lost the city, now it belongs to the king in Prussia, now start obeying before I get angry'', I said with a proud tone.

''What, the king in Prussia? Who the hell is he ''said the man in his chair, still very pale.

''the owner of this city and I hope you remember that heathen because you will pay dearly if you forget who your new master is, now I need you to inform the rest of the guards to surrender, preventing my men from having to waste their time killing yours'' I said looking at what, I think, is the castellan

''you think I am going to betray my lord, ordering our men to surrender'' said the castellan angrily.

I approached with long strides and pushed the guard with great force who had received me at the door, causing him to hit his head against the wall, and walked until I was next to the castellan.

''YES, YOU ARE GOING TO DO IT, NOW, you are going to order everyone to surrender and turn in their weapons and lock themselves in their barracks until we have secured this city under our control because it is not a question, IT IS AN ORDER, PAGAN'' I said as I placed my hand on his shoulder and squeezed as hard as I could until I heard him shriek in pain.

''it's better to surrender the city, we won't get anything out of resisting, they have already captured our lord's family'' said the man in chains looking at the woman.

the castellan looked at me with tearful eyes and then looked at the guard.

''order everyone to comply with this man's request, we surrender'' said the castellan,

When he said those words, I released my grip on his shoulder.

the guard who had recovered from the blow left the room, leaving his weapons, and was accompanied by one of my men.

the Maester quickly went to check the castellan's shoulder.

''it can't be, he fractured it, how, it's...it's impossible with only one hand?'', said the Maester in surprise.

''that doesn't matter heathen, take us to the vaults where you keep the gold'', I said, looking at the castellan.

the castellan was undecided to act, but when he looked at him again, he got up from his chair and started walking.

''Follow me, I will take you to the vault'' said the castellan holding back tears of pain.

''Secure the woman, she is a relative of the lord of the city, we could use her for ransom later'' I said to one of the two knights following me.

the castellan led us to the lower floor, and we walked down the corridors, but he stopped suddenly while holding his broken shoulder

''walk on heathen, I don't have all day'' I said as I pushed him to the floor.

the castellan rolled on the floor, complaining about his arm, but as he saw our faces and how we were getting more and more furious about his actions, he got back up and walked towards the warehouses, holding his arm that was hanging down

arriving at the first floor, where everything had started, I saw how my men had all the survivors kneeling with their arms and ankles tied.

We continued walking until we finally arrived at a room on the first floor of the tower.

the castellan took some keys that he had in his belt and started trying to open the door with his only arm that could move, after seeing how pathetically he tried to open the door, I took the keys from him, pushing him and making him fall, I opened the vault myself'.

Upon entering the vault, we found several chests, which by God's will were full of gold and silver coins, plus several ingots of these same minerals that had not yet been minted, with this we will be able to pay the military salaries, maybe for the year if we are lucky and there are no unforeseen expenses.

''have anything else of value, it is this city, that is worthy of mention'' I said, looking at the castellan on the floor.

''the city granary, we have supplies to withstand the winter years'' said the castellan.

''where are they?'', I said, looking at the pagan

''the grain silos are outside the keep, you can check them yourself'' said the castellan.

''well, don't cry so much heathen, I'm not going to kill you, you are lucky I have orders not to touch those who surrender because if it were up to me, I would have thrown you on a pyre'' I said looking at the castellan

the castellan collapsed on the floor, and my bodyguard and I left the keep to check the barns.

Coming out of the keep the view was similar, almost all the guards were eliminated, leaving a group that surrendered, and they were chaining them up to take them to our camp to get information from them or force them to do some kind of work to take the weight off our men, and they began the work of making mountains of dead to be burned on a pyre or buried in a pit.

Checking the grain silo, it was quite full, there should be a few hundred tons of grain to be counted.

' But there should be enough food for a few weeks, maybe a couple of moons, as the locals say'.

After the rest of the army arrived, the city was quickly put under our control, and we imposed martial law, no one enters and no one leaves this place, for the next few weeks, no one will leave this city until we have taken everything of value that the civilian population has to be used in a better cause.

Our casualties, to my surprise, were high, four knights and about twenty soldiers died fighting these filthy heathens, luckily they were not Teutonic, and they were knights serving my house.

Teutonic are one of our best tools to win battles and should not die in these places fighting against poorly armed guards.

the city is ours, specifically my king's, I still have the raging desire to kill and burn all these heathens, but I have orders from the king that we must not mistreat the civilian population, at the moment, they are very submissive to our administration and the king wishes that to be maintained and the way he seeks to achieve this is that they see no danger in us'.

'They are lucky that we are in a 'desperate situation'as some officers say, the main thing we should focus on is the expansion of our faith among these savages, who worship many gods, we would be doing them a favor if we simply killed them, since they have damned their souls praising false gods'.

Finishing reviewing the reports of my men, we began to move to the market, since the operations of plundering the population had already begun and must verify that our men do not break the rules that the king has established on the plunder against these pagans.

Arriving at the market, I met my men, who had already begun to confiscate merchandise and take away the merchants' possessions,

'ah the beauty of war where one man can take almost everything from a person and that person can do nothing, since these heathens to their bad luck are on the losing side and nobody cares about the losers'.

'Besides, they won't be able to complain, no one would listen to them, we would laugh at them if they demanded compensation and I think most of the savage lords of this kingdom would do the same, as it is the natural thing to happen in war'

The looting went on as usual, families outside their homes crying like women, for what they did not know how to defend like men, my soldiers entered their homes and took out all the valuable metal they had and, as ordered by the king, we also took their food reserves leaving a quantity, so they can survive the martial law

'Get out of my sight you thieves, you will not touch my family,' said a heathen with a sword, threatening the professional Prussian soldiers.

'Well, here we have the first idiot of the day, well, I can set an example with to show these filthy heathens who rule now.'

the man who was trying to protect his family had his sword pointed at the two Prussian soldiers, but he was so focused on them that he didn't notice a man approaching him from behind, who quickly lifted him off the ground by his clothes with one hand and with the other began to choke him, leaving most of the spectators astonished at the incredible strength of the Prussian nobleman.

When I picked up this ragged savage, I slammed him violently against the wall, making sure not to break his skull on the spot.

''HEAR ME PEOPLE OF TUMBLETON, I WILL BE CLEAR, YOU ARE NOW UNDER A NEW ADMINISTRATION, YOUR NEW MASTER IS WILHELM VON HOHENZOLLERN THE KING IN PRUSSIA, WHOEVER RESISTS OUR OCCUPATION LIKE THIS FOOL WILL DIE, BUT AS THE KING IN PRUSSIA IS MAGNANIMOUS WE WILL LET THIS OFFENSE PASS BUT THERE WILL BE NO OTHER CHANCE FOR YOU ALL''I shouted to all the savages around me squeezing from time to time the idiot's neck so that he let out little screams.

''I hope it was clear to you, your filthy miserable life was only spared by my kind and just king'' I said as I squeezed his neck without killing him.

While the heathen struggled to get me to let him go, trying to hit my arms and kicking me, which had no effect on me, a woman and two children came out and watched in panic as the man was turning purple and losing the strength to fight.

When my objectives were accomplished, I threw the miserable man at the feet of his family.

They immediately went to help him.

While the man made humiliating sounds in order to breathe while coughing.

I took a few steps to get back into the vision of these heathens.

''remember your position you filthy heathen, you will only be a miserable and ragged servant of my king who is not even worthy to kiss the ground he walks on, remember that very well, you will be a servant and your children will also be servants because that is the fate of filthy and pathetic peasants like you and your family, this will continue for generations until the end of time'' I said looking at the man who still struggled to breathe.

I began to stomp the man's head against the ground.

''WHAT ARE YOU?'' I said, looking at the savage.

''ahh..ahh..I am a servant'' said the man.

''WRONG, you are a filthy, ragged servant'' I said stomping a little harder.

''ahh...ahh...yes, I am a filthy, ragged servant'' said the man while holding my foot with his hands so that I would not crush his head.

''AND WHAT IS YOUR FAMILY?''' I asked again.

the man hesitated a bit, but a little pressure with my foot brought him back to reality.

''ahh..ah.ahh... disgusting and pathetic... peasants'' said the man in tears.

''and what is the king in Prussia to you?'' I kept asking.

''my...my...my new king, whom I am fortunate to serve even as a filthy, ragged servant'' said the man.

''even if you are a??'' I said, looking at the family who were trying to hide their faces from everyone who saw this.

''unworthy to kiss the ground he walks on'' said the man.

''Remember this lesson, remember this humiliation, this will happen again to you and all your future descendants who do not know how to behave, when an animal like you does not know how to behave, the master has to put him in his place, is that clear?'' I said, looking at the man.

''Yes my lord'' said the man.

I removed my foot from his head and turned to my men.

''You see, I just thought this dog a new trick, ha,ha,ha,ha,ha'' I said to my soldiers.

My men laughed and I continued walking to check out the loot, leaving the sobbing man alone to continue his pathetic life.

When we reached the commercial area of this city, I saw how my men seized all the merchants' properties, I was almost happy to see the desperate faces of the merchants and how they could do nothing and worse, they will not be able to leave the city until further notice as a measure to prevent information about our presence from getting out.

the merchants are greedy by nature, so let's get a good amount of coins by confiscating their wealth and their transport animals will help the logistics of the Prussian army to continue this crusade against the heathens.

'ah, the pleas of the merchants for us not to take their things is something that always makes me happy and even more so when they are not believers of our religion, it is a beautiful thing'.

Checking that everything was in order, I saw how my men take several prisoners to our camp, the guards of the city that the Finns could not eliminate during their infiltration, during my direction on the sacking, the Finnish soldier returned to return the horse

''Here you have your war horse, my lord,'' said the Finnish soldier.

I signaled one of my knights to put the horse away.

''a query soldier, is it possible that they do the same thing they did with the city guards in the castles of the lords, I think it would be more effective than relying on deception'' I said asking the Finnish man

''it is very difficult my lord, the garrisons of the noble houses do not allow the entry of peasants to the castle, that disables almost all the strategy, since we depend on ambushes in the markets to get the armor and to be able to disguise as them and the only way to enter would be climbing the walls something almost impossible if the walls are well nourished with men'' said the Finnish soldier.

''a pity soldier, your leader has not considered it?'', I asked the soldier.

''our leader has led some infiltrations in castles, but only in small ones, when the garrisons at night only guard the gate, nothing more than that'' said the soldier

''good to know, I thank you for your service, you can go to rest'' I said to the Finnish soldier as I continued to supervise the looting.

Finished most of the looting in the commercial area of this zone, I continued to move around the town

but I came to the most disgusting place in the city, their sept where they worship their false gods, I received specific orders that the places of worship are not to be touched, the king wants to "avoid" a violent response from the pagans, to our occupation

but the places of worship tend to have a lot of valuables, the less gold that goes to proselytize their false gods the better, so I'll see if I can get something out of them without having to get my hands dirty

When I arrived at the door of their sept I was greeted by several priests of their faith who were protecting the population who were hiding inside their place of worship.

''Stand back, this is the home of the gods, it cannot be desecrated with blood, there are only men of faith here, no force is necessary,'' said the priest fearfully, showing us the icon of his faith, a 7 pointed star.

''That's how I see it, but I wonder, priest, are you willing to collaborate to avoid bloodshed because I want everything to happen naturally, but everything depends on you'' I said with a somber tone.

What do you mean,'' said the pagan priest.

''How many coins is this sept worth to avoid the problem of bloodshed, how much can you offer to keep my men from having to get their hands dirty'' I said with a cold tone.

''If I give you the coin of donations, will you forgive the sept and the people?'' the priest asked.

"Of course, it is up to you if you want to be remembered as a smart and wise septon who prevented the looting of the place of worship by just handing over the gold or be remembered as the greedy idiot, typical of your corrupt religion who kept the donation coin and condemned the lives of his followers, even though they are already condemned to hell and obviously, your life priest.'' I said with my somber tone as I smiled.

''Wait, here'' ran out the septon, almost falling twice because of the nervousness of his steps.

After the passage of 15 minutes, the septon returned with the help of other members of his septon who were carrying several chests

''This is all we can give, if we give him everything we will not be able to continue our charitable work with the poor,'' said the septon with his voice full of fear.

'I checked the contents of the chests and I was surprised at the amount of coins they had, it reminds me of a church we kicked the ass of recently in Europe, almost 3000 golden dragons and 15000 silver coins and too many copper coins to count, this was a medium-sized sept, if we get to the larger sept, I can't imagine how much gold they will have, I would like to get to that sept which is in that last city of our campaign it must be full of gold and silver that would serve better in my king's chests.'

''this will be enough priest, calm down, you did the right thing, now if you will excuse me, I have reports to write and wheat to weigh'' I said as I waved my men to take the chests.

Saying this, I returned to the lord's keep, where I spent the rest of the day preparing my king's beloved reports, since the day was still young and this campaign was just beginning.
