Proud declaration I don’t like
However, this had the opposite effect on bystanders. They scoffed. It was so obvious how rotten Eric was. Pretending to be all innocent after viciously instigating all of this.
Yes, in their eyes, Eric was a white lotus. It was the perfect term to describe him. Well, they weren't too far off. In the real world, Eric was indeed a two-faced scum but currently, Eric was working for the greater good! And because he wanted to leave this story but we don't need to mention it now.
BOOM BOOM
Swords flew. Punches hit. The throne hall was instantly completely destroyed. Fil only sat there and watched. Eric ran out of patience. At this rate, the relationship between Cultivators and Superheroes would only get worse. Eric hit Fil on his head.
"What?" Fil roared but was met with Eric's charming smile, "Fil, as the hero it's easy to break this off, right?"
Fil turned to the kings and heartedly agreed, "Of course, child's play."
"Then can't you do it?"
"Alright," Fil stood up and within a second held under each arm a king like they were little pets.
Everyone was shocked, not because of Fil's overwhelming display of power, no, they were already used to it but because they once again witnessed how easy Eric wrapped their hero around his pinky and even dared to raise a hand against him.
"Send them back," Eric said and Fil roaeed, "Both of you go back and reflect. We want peace and not you fighting."
The kings were perplexed. They helplessly dangled in the air held by Fil. Wasn't Fil the one saying only one can leave here alive?
Well, he didn't really say it but his words implied it.
The kings shifted their gazes to Eric who leaned against the throne casually. The audacity this disciple had!
The kings had a new enemy. They needed to get rid of Eric, this bad influence on their hero.
After what happened and what everyone witnessed, they were all sure that Eric was indeed the villain mastermind that needed to be defeated.
The kings were sent back, but since the fight, tumult started. The loyal followers of the hero were getting uneasy about Eric's presence. They needed to get rid of this pest.
The rest of the day passed by quickly. After Fil threw out the kings, Eric had him study more about the world while Eric remained on Fil's bed thinking about what to do next. In these kinds of stories, what does the hero do? If one wanted to unify the world, there was always one villain, an antagonist, the protagonist had to destroy. But who was this antagonistic force?
Who could become a scapegoat needed to be destroyed, so that both sides rallied together and defeat the main enemy?
Better was if there was an antagonist who brainwashed Superheroes and Cultivators to hate each other. Once the hero defeated the villain, peace would descend upon both sides. So they needed to find a scapegoat, no matter what, any hero story needed a villain.
Behind the curtains, Eric sat, deep in thoughts until he heard rustles. He wanted to call out to Fil but then realised that Fil wouldn't be so cautious. Eric decided to partly cover himself with the blanket as he stared straight in front of him. Since the lights were on, silhouettes could be seen.
Right now, Eric's was visible on the curtains around the bed. From the inside, Eric saw the shadow of the person outside. They stood for a second before they knelt, "Great hero!"
The male voice was laced with awe and worry. For a mere servant to sneak in without announcing themselves, they sure had guts. Eric was now intrigued and curious to listen to what they had to say instead of revealing himself.
"Great hero!" the servant repeated hastily afraid of something, "Please head our concerns! It's urgent."
Ha... Eric already guessed what this was about. How annoying.
"Great hero, we are all worried about you. Nothing is more revered and nothing is more gratifying than your presence!"
Just get to the point already. Eric rolled his eyes.
"However, a dark force is starting to cloud your mind, we all have come to the same decision and plead to you to forsake your lover. Banish him to the land of demons! He must be a demon, manipulating you and exploiting you for your benevolence, great hero!"
So, Eric was a demon huh? So demons also existed in this world. Of course, cultivation, why didn't Eric think about this before? The demons were the scapegoat's Eric was looking for! However, open your damn eyes. The biggest demon is your demon hero!
"Great hero, please don't be angry and think about this rationally!"
Eric was glad Fil wasn't here. Although Eric was sure Fil wouldn't believe them, Eric had no idea what Fil would do. Well, Eric could read Fil's thoughts but there was pure nonsense most of the time.
Seeing this pitiful kneeling servant not knowing what fate he brought over himself, Eric wondered how he should deal with him.
Wait, they saw him as a villain? Then, Eric would play the villain!
The demons were the scapegoats while Eric was become the main villain Fil had to defeat at the end!
Yes, this turn of events could be interesting. The readers would think Eric was just a poor bullied kid misunderstood until the end when Eric would uno reverse them with big brain play. This was a good idea.
Eric moved closer to the curtains and delicately said before parting the curtains, "You sure have guts coming in here without permission."
The light voice travelled to the servant whose eyes widened at the realisation of his mistake.
But it was too late. Before the servant even moved, Eric grabbed him by the hair and yanked him to him, "One more word about this to the hero and you can kiss goodbye to your life.''
Eric's threatening voice made the servant tremble. To be honest, playing the villain, no, being the villain was very enjoyable. Look at this small cannon fodder. Cough. No, Eric couldn't get carried away.
"Leave now and don't make me angry again."
"Yes, yes!" the servant scrammed.
This scene should be edited out and not included in the story. Once Fil wrote down the story after they've edited it here, Eric would make sure Fil omitted this part. Well, the story was following Fil anyways, so Fil might even know about this event later on. Eric still didn't really understand how it worked.
Eric prepared for the next move when Fil came in, saying in his loud voice, "Why was the servant here?"
Oh, good timing! Eric could play the victim so readers would empathise with Eric more and not suspect him to be the actual villain.
"He... he came to bully me... since I'm such a lowly disciple, I don't deserve to be by the hero's side," Eric said, very aggrieved and even forced tears were squeezed out naturally.
What perfect acting! And Fil took the bait.
"How dare a mere servant condemn what's mine!"
Eric blanked.
Erm... aren't you getting a bit too much into the story?
