Chapter 25: The Upside-Down Theresa
Shigure Kira took the clothes that Li Mo had given her. Her fingers involuntarily tightened, and she pursed her lips.
"The gun and the coin, you keep them." Shigure Kira made up her mind and returned the anomalous items to Li Mo.
"Although I don't know the details of your plan, clothes from a corpse definitely won't be able to protect you. You staying here is much more dangerous than us. You have a higher chance of surviving with weapons."
The silver-gray pistol and the coin were transferred back for the second time.
Li Mo narrowed his eyes slightly, his scattered pupils retaining a dead man's gaze.
Just as Shigure Kira had said, the risks he faced were much greater than the others in the auditorium.
If he carried out the funeral rituals in the auditorium normally and drove out all the newcomers, then the people in the auditorium would naturally be safe.
But Li Mo's actions were a gamble, completely exposing himself to the anomalies' line of sight, without any place to hide.
If the clothes from the corpse didn't work, then he would basically be in a situation where death was certain.
He was not only ruthless to others but even more ruthless to himself.
6:59 PM—
The broadcasting room was deathly silent.
A thick, black curtain swept across the sky and earth. In the desolate area under the night sky, there wasn't any trace of living creatures. There were only solitary, dilapidated brick houses, and piles and piles of old weeds and rotten branches.
The teaching building where the broadcasting room was located was empty. Piles of corpses emitted a musty, decayed smell that filled the long corridor.
The corpses had no heads. They were just a bunch of dead bodies that couldn't move.
Li Mo stood in the corridor outside the broadcasting room. The clothes he wore seemed to have faded quite a bit.
"Hehe, hehe..."
A childish laughter echoed in the corridor. The school's broadcasting suddenly recovered, emitting a "buzzing" and noisy sound of static electricity.
"Bang! Bang, bang!"
The corpses in the corridor still didn't show any signs of movement, but the crisp sound of footsteps and the sound of a single head constantly hitting the ground echoed in the stairwell, getting closer and closer to Li Mo.
Suddenly, a standing headless corpse walked out of a corner, directly facing Li Mo.
On the black and white small nun's outfit was engraved the Schicksal's emblem. The spinal cord on its neck was connected to something that was hiding on the other side of the wall.
"It's the upside-down head from last night. The head is hiding in the corner."
Li Mo quickly recalled that last night, a black silhouette of an upside-down head had been hanging by the window, staring at them.
What was different from the other heads was:
Her head had a spine below it, so Li Mo determined that her body and head were separate but connected by the spine.
However, with this form of existence, Li Mo couldn't determine whether it was human or a ghost.
If it was a ghost, then the black coffin ghost clothes he was wearing should be able to protect him from being attacked because not many heads had discovered him.
And the other party was clearly coming for him, so it was more likely to be a human...
Li Mo took out his gun and aimed it at the spine on the headless female corpse's neck. He tensed up, focusing all of his attention on the other party.
Before he determined whether the other party was human or ghost, he didn't dare to shoot first.
"Ding-a-ling~! Ding-a-ling~!"
The bell of the auditorium rang out, and the entire academy fell into a moment of dead silence.
Suddenly, an ear-piercing broadcasting sound abruptly appeared in Li Mo's mind.
"Haha! I see you! I found you!"
"See me?"
Just as Li Mo was puzzled, a strange head slowly emerged from the corner. Its eyes were below, and its mouth was above. Its long ponytail was drooping on the ground.
Theresa...
The upside-down Theresa's head was pulled by a two-meter-long, deformed spine. Her cloudy white eyeballs stared at Li Mo. It was a shocking and bizarre sight.
"You're going to die! You're finally going to die!"
The broadcasting sound in his mind echoed again, making Li Mo feel very annoyed.
"Bang!" Li Mo decisively shot. The silver-gray bullet hit the spinal cord, and a blue-purple flame appeared, but it quickly disappeared.
The upside-down ghost Theresa didn't move forward. She just stood there staring at Li Mo.
Suddenly, the upside-down head moved, and immediately, Li Mo found that his head was uncontrollably rotating, trying to turn completely upside down.
"Tsk!"
Li Mo tossed his gun away and used both hands to hold his head, trying to straighten it, but it was useless.
In just a few seconds, Li Mo's head had already rotated ninety degrees. His neck started to buckle under the pressure, and his flesh was gradually being torn.
Not only that, but his spine was also forcefully breaking out of his back, and it kept getting longer.
The expanding spine that was breaking out of his body and the constantly rotating head brought the aura of death upon Li Mo.
"His head is going to break! Haha! His head is going to break!"
"You're finally going to die!"
The annoying broadcasting sound in his mind was celebrating as it was hyped up, celebrating Li Mo's imminent death.
Unfortunately, this half-way celebration was no different from a curse.
In the next second, Li Mo supported himself on the ground with his hands, turning himself upside down, so that his head was now parallel and directly facing Theresa's upside-down head.
It worked.
Li Mo discovered that his head was no longer rotating. Although his spine had burst out from his back and had grown a bit, that wasn't much of an injury for the current Li Mo. At most, it was a bit painful.
"Why aren't you dying yet! Why are you still alive!"
The desperate broadcasting sound in his mind made the emotionless Li Mo feel a sense of joy.
It had been a long time since he had seen such a shameless ghost, doing nothing but shouting.
Li Mo supported his body with one hand, and with the other hand, he picked up the gun and kept shooting at the spine of the upside-down Theresa.
One bullet wasn't enough to burn through the spine, so he used ten bullets, twenty bullets.
Finally, the blue-purple flames burned through the connecting point, and Theresa's head fell off from the spine that extended from her body. Li Mo straightened his body again, and found nothing abnormal.
"So to deal with this ghost, I can't be upside down with it. Otherwise, the spine in my body will expand and lengthen and then control my head to rotate 180 degrees."
Li Mo curiously examined the other party and then drove his thin arm to throw the head away as if he was throwing a shot put.
Following that, Li Mo's arm became even more stiff and icy, and corpse spots covered most of his skin.
Overusing anomalous power would only result in it backlashing on him. There was no exception.
"She probably won't die."
Li Mo hadn't destroyed the head, so the upside-down Theresa's head couldn't restart. After all, the head was its main body. A fall from the second floor wouldn't kill it either.
He ran back to the broadcasting room and looked at the sky above the auditorium, waiting for Shigure Kira to send a signal.
The effect of the black coffin ghost clothes was much better than he had imagined. From then until now, only the half-human-half-ghost Theresa had attacked him.
If the broadcasting was included, then there were two, but the broadcasting wasn't considered a ghost. It was at most, some kind of supernatural phenomenon.
Perhaps it was because he had touched the broadcasting equipment that it had been stuck in his mind all this time.
A useless, trash anomaly that could only talk. Li Mo didn't need to keep it in his heart.
It couldn't even kill anyone. It was so embarrassing.
He had never seen such a bad anomaly before.
