Book 3: Chapter 84
Chapter 84.
--- Dos Sorpablo Street, the south city on the second level.
It is a relatively small town located just a short drive from the second level of the Central District. Still, it is famous for its delicious seafood cuisine.
It is a town where people come from many cities searching for seafood at night, and adults exchange drinks on terraces everywhere while enjoying the pleasant spring breeze.
In an area of the city with relatively expensive stores, Tenji and Chigo had come to a restaurant that specializes in pasta, called Granze, which is famous in this city.
"Please give me five servings of crab cream pasta. Also, I'd like a herb chicken salad and two Cokes. And......"
"Go for five servings? Our pasta is quite large......."
"No problem! We're big eaters. And hey,......, Tenji, do you need anything?"
"I'm fine. I'll go with Chigo on this."
"Really? Then I'll have some pancakes for dessert, please."
"I'm sorry, ma'am. The pasta has an adjustable amount of garlic. How would you like it?"
"Just normal, right?"
"Yeah, I prefer normal," Tenji replied.
"I will take it as normal. I will bring it to you as normal. And you can choose either ice cream or whipped cream for the pancakes....... Shall I ask you again after dinner?"
"Yes, please do that!"
"I understand. Please wait a little while until the food arrives."
As the waiter said this, another appeared, holding a silver tray, as if he had timed it perfectly.
There were two cups on it, burly and expensive-looking titanium glasses.
"Here, please enjoy this before your food arrives. It is freshly squeezed juice from the grapes we grow. We cannot serve aperitifs to minors, so this is the juice for you. Now, enjoy yourselves."
[TLN: aperitifs - an alcoholic drink taken before a meal to stimulate the appetite.]
The two waiters slowly leave the place with beautifully trained manners.
Essentially, the tables at the restaurant are by reservation only.
However, fortunately, a cancellation happened, and there were seats available. And, as it was known from the device that Chigo is a teacher of Mallorca Escuela, even though it was an unexpected visit, they were able to receive service.
The fact that they can handle this situation on the short notice must mean that this is an excellent restaurant in its own right.
Apparently, the main branch of this restaurant has received two famous stars.
Chigo waits, fidgeting and sipping grape juice as if she is desperately looking forward to it. And she was.
[It's kind of weird. But...... the rich grape taste, with no bitterness flavor, this is...... awesome...] Tenji thought as he sipped his juice.
The two wait silently for the crab cream pasta to arrive. They seem so exhausted from today's dungeon attack that they can't even open their mouths to ask.
It was at that moment when the two of them were slouching.
"Oh, it's Chigo, isn't it? What a coincidence."
Suddenly, they heard a woman's voice from behind. It was a very calm and soothing voice, gentle like the sound of a piano.
Tenji and Chigo were so caught off guard that they involuntarily jerked and turned their heads in the direction of the voice.
Chigo's eyes widened in surprise after seeing her.
"Oh, it's grandma Limey. This really is a coincidence. What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for the crab cream pasta. Do you mind if I join you?"
"I'm totally fine with it. I was just talking with Tenji-kun about Grandma Limey before we came here, so come sit here."
"Oh, about me? That's great to hear. In that case, I will gladly accept your invitation."
President Limey sat down in one of the four available seats with an unexpectedly polite posture.
Ursula-Limey.
She is an elderly woman, 62 years old, and one of only four active zero-grade explorers in the world.
She is an explorer who is called the world's strongest weapon, and is often called the "Witch of Light" because of her manipulation of light-based magic.
In the past, she used to run around the world to attack dungeons, but when her body began to scream old, she settled down in Mallorca, which is set up as a zero-grade dungeon, to attack dungeons.
In this context, she also works as the President of Mallorca Escuela and is energetically involved in the training of the next generation of explorers. Even so, she is not very visible and often works behind the scenes.
Her appearance is that of an exotic grandmother anywhere.
She has reddish brown hair with a few gray hairs mixed in. Her hair is tied back in a bun, so they cannot tell how long it is, but they could see that she usually takes care of her skin.
She is of normal height, probably in the low 150s. She smells softly like a grandmother, with the fragrant aroma of tea mixed in at the back
.
[Wow, so this is that Witch of Light. This person doesn't appear in the media very often, so this is the first time I've seen her in real life.]
Tenji had this impression inwardly.
Even so, he could not hide the unique aura of a strong person that overflowed from within his body. Tenji noticed this and unconsciously began to sweat on his neck."
The restaurant's waiter immediately turned on his feet when he noticed that President Limey had ignored the waiter's directions and sat here.
He then asks a small question to President Limey..
"Is this seat alright with you?"
"Yes, would you do that for me?"
"I will bring you the menu right away."
"Don't worry, I've already decided. Can I have one of your famous crab cream pasta? And a bottle of wine chosen by the chef."
"Understood. I will bring it to you along with the other customer at this table."
"Yeah, nice to meet you."
The waiter, who was already acquainted with President Limey, was soft-spoken and treated the guests as if they were VIPs.
The unexpected appearance of this person makes Tenji feel more nervous than hungry.
[She seems more...... like a normal, kind old lady than Chigo told me she was. So far, she doesn't seem unsociable.]
The person in front of him did not look at all like the "unfriendly old lady" that Chigo had described in the dungeon.
Instead, she was looking at Chigo with a smiling expression, as if she were looking at her grandchildren. Chigo did not seem too nervous, humming and humming as usual as she waited for her pasta.
At that moment, President Limey's eyes turned to Tenji.
Her eyes were somewhat willful as if searching for something inside Tenji.
"You must be Chigo-chan's student, Tenji Amagi. You are smaller than I thought...... you would be. How tall are you?"
'So, you're my student?... um, I mean, I'm yours....? I think I'm 169 cm, or maybe 170 cm?""
"Oh, you are small after all. How long have you known Chigo?"
"Let's see........"
Perhaps noticing Tenji's nervousness, Chigo interrupts the conversation.
"It has been about a month and a half ago. Leon found Tenji-Kun, and we first met at the guild office. And then we met again during the guild's entrance exam."
"I see, so you came to Mallorca. How is it? Are you enjoying Mallorca?"
"Yeah! There's so much good food here. It's fun!"
"Yes, Chigo is just like my grandchild, so I can't help but spoil her.".
President Limey slowly reached up to Chigo's head and gently stroked her hair.
Her eyes do not seem to lie, and she adores Chigo from the bottom of her heart.
[What's so unsociable about her? She seems like a totally normal old lady.]
Somewhere in the back of his mind, Tenji, who had prepared himself for the mindless words to be uttered, was amused.
After that, Limey continued to ask Chigo a number of questions.
So after about fifteen minutes, six pastas arrived on the table.
At first, President Limey was surprised at the amount. Still, when she saw the bottomless stomachs of Tenji and Chigo, she knew that the amount was appropriate.
President Limey quickly finished her meal and waited for them to finish eating, looking calm and sipping her wine.
