Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Demon Hatred Emblem, Demon Hater Curse
[You have completed the Dark Dungeon!]
[You have slain x472 "Dungeon Demons", gained 2,404,664 experience points]
[You have slain a Mythical Grade Tier 5 "Demon Warden" boss, gained, 573,384 experience points]
A shimmering light surrounded Alex as he leveled up.
"..."
There was a pause for a moment, as if the system was calculating his gains.
And then, suddenly.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
[+Level]
[+Level]
.
.
[+Level]
[You have reached level 94!]
"Wow," Alex was already close to reaching the 4th tier!
He quickly put his attribute points on Strength, then moved on to the extraction panels.
He didn't get much beside attribute points though, as all other items were useless other than selling, and he wasn't focused on that right now.
[+64 Strength, +40 Vitality, +13 Spirit]
Of course, he did the same with the warden, placing his palm against his body.
Ding!
[You have extraced "Demon Warden Core" (Mythical Material)]
This time, Alex didn't even bother thinking.
"Synthesis."
[Elysian Staff of the Silver Mage + Demon Warden Core = ??? (Divine)]
He needed more power from his staff, as right now his spells were lacking the needed damage.
But this would change that.
Ding!
[You have acquired "Demonized Staff of the Silver Mage" (Divine)]
[+10000 Spirit, -50% Cooldown Reduction.]
"Nice."
With that, he could truly deal with those stupid demons when they tried to attack the fox tribe.
But it wasn't enough.
Defeating hundreds of level 250 demons was one thing, but 10000 of them was a different story.
Even he wasn't confident he could do it.
"Well, I did finish the quest, might as well move on," after this room was the final room of the [Dark Dungeon].
You would usally call areas like these the [Reward Rooms], because, well, it is there that all the rewards are available for grabs.
Alex didn't waste any time.
The entire chamber was now empty, the corpses of the demons down, as well as some of the remains of his undead.
Taking a few steps forward revealed a door behind the throne of the dungeon's boss.
Alex stepped into the reward room, his gaze immediately drawn to a single pedestal in the center.
A golden light beamed down on the display, illuminating an item placed on a red cushion.
"..."
Ding!
[You are the first to ever complete this dungeon!]
[Completion time is also outstanding at your current level.]
[Thus, the highest reward has been granted: an artifact.]
"!!!" Alex's smile widened.
The item the fox tribe wanted so much was here. And now it was his for the taking.
He approached the pedestal, his eyes fixed on what looked like an ink stamp, with a strange symbol carved onto its surface.
As he grabbed it, a new notification appeared.
[Demon Hatred Emblem]
[Description: Can be used three times, then it will be destroyed. Applying this symbol on your body will enhance your capabilities against all demonic-type enemies.]
"Wow," he muttered, understanding now why the fox tribe valued it so highly.
It didn't list specific stats, but its rarity and limited usage spoke volumes.
Not only would it weaken any demons he faced, but it would also bolster his own power.
Without hesitating, he pressed the emblem to his arm.
The pain was sharp, almost like a burn, as the mark seared onto his skin, leaving a faint, dark symbol.
Ding!
[You have received the "Demon Hater" Curse.]
[No demons shall try to fight you.]
[2 uses left.]
He glanced at the emblem again, a new idea forming.
He held it up, calling, "Hey, Undead King, come here."
"..."
But no answer.
"Sigh..." Alex didn't want to do it, but he kind of forced his hand.
[Death Call]
The Undead King materialized before him, looking annoyed. "What do you want—"
Alex didn't give him a chance to finish.
He jumped up, pressing the emblem to the King's forehead.
A dark stamp appeared, searing into the Undead King's form.
"WHAT?" the Undead King roared, recoiling. "What did you do?!"
Ding!
[Undead Lord talent has been affected by the "Demon Hater" seal.]
[All Undead minions have gained the perk.]
Alex grinned.
The King might not know it yet, but now his entire undead army was empowered against demons.

Alphox, who had been watching from the sidelines, chuckled.
"I don't need that. Dragons are natural enemies of demons," he sneered.
"Yeah, yeah, I know," Alex replied with a smirk. "Didn't plan on using it on you anyway."
The Undead King scowled, "Argh, whatever," and with a huff, he vanished back to his space.
Without further delay, Alex activated his Fast Travel, the dungeon walls shimmering around him as he left the Dark Dungeon behind.
In the blink of an eye, he arrived at the [Mystic Forest - Fox Tribe Village], ready to share the news of his success.
The last thing he needed was to grind his levels and attributes while waiting for the attack, and of course, make sure the fox girls understood what he wanted them to do.
The majority would just be expected to just support him, that is all he needed.
Him and Alera would do the work, even Lilith and Alice if they wanted.
As Alex materialized in the [Fox Tribe Village], the sight of ancient trees and warm torchlight filled the surroundings.
The fox tribe members quickly gathered, their ears and tails twitching with anticipation as they saw him return, noticing the faint glow of his new emblem stamped on his arm.
"What's that?"
"New tatoo maybe..."
Most of the fox girls looked at him interested and seductive looks, but Alex wasn't interested in that.
He wanted to see Lilith and Alera.
And thankfully enough, it seemed that his arrival had been instantly notified as the "queen" and "princess" arrived.
"Alex!" Lilith beamed.
"..." Alex nodded, smiling.
Alera, the fox tribe's chief and the one most invested in retrieving the [Demon Hatred Emblem], stepped forward, her eyes gleaming as they fell on the dark mark on his arm.
"!!!" her eyes widened at the sight, "Is that?"
"Yeah," Alex actually didn't waste any time, approaching Alera and grabbing her arm, resulting in the beautiful woman to step back, blushing, "It might hurt."
He still had the [Demon Hatred Emblem] in hand, so he immediately stamped her arm with it.
Alera was also called the [Ice Fox Queen] in his previous life because of her powerful ice abilities, mimicking her silver/white fur.
She would be his greatest ally against the demons, simply by the fact she was currently level 400, meaning tier 6.
"Ouch~" Alera let out a cute noise that she didn't even know she could let out.
Alex didn't know how old she was, since beast races usually lived longer than regular humans, but to him she still looked as though she was in her prime.
"And... done," Alex smiled as he removed the stamp from her arm, on her beautiful pale skin the same demonic symbol was left on her.
[Alera has received the "Demon Hater" curse.]
[3 uses reached, destroying artifact.]
The stamp he was carrying in hand suddenly began desintegrating, and afte rless than three seconds it had become ash.
An artifact item that could only be used so little meant it would be great in term of efficiency.
And usually, there aren't many copies of one item, as proven by the [World Map] which only existed in two copies.
Reading the effects of the curse she received, Alera's eyes widened.
"Human! That's amazing!" she went to hug Alex, her strength far higher than his, though it was mostly her twin mountains on his face that almost suffocated him.
"No... Pro...blem..."
