0055 – Athena On Her Way Home
From the system backpack, she took out the Moonlight Bow and then retrieved the Crimson Bow, placing them together.
Detected bow capable of fusion with Moonlight Bow, merge? |
"Yes"
The power of the system pulled the Crimson Bow closer to the Moonlight Bow. Its body began to tremble slightly but couldn't break free, gradually turning into a mass of red liquid. This liquid shimmered faintly like flowing mercury as it merged into the Moonlight Bow.
In an instant, the Moonlight Bow radiated a dazzling light. The lunar power swirling on its surface became dense, emitting a faintly unsettling aura.
The Moonlight Bow finally transformed, living up to its name, becoming a silver-white hue emanating faint red aura.

The bow in her hand seemed to truly embody the pure moonlight hanging in the sky. Athena retrieved the Moonlight Bow.
She then took out two books from Uncle Gowther and began to study them earnestly.
"Chop, hack, cleave, smear, smash, wrap, intercept, etc. These methods make the axe appear rugged and heroic during use, capable of displaying a mighty demeanor akin to splitting mountains and opening paths."
"Hold the axe with the dominant hand, the hand positioned between the tail and the midpoint of the handle. The specific position depends on the user's preference and strength... Grip the axe primarily using the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, allowing the axe to rotate around these three fingers..."
As she studied, Athena kept experimenting until late into the night before finally falling asleep.
The next day, after freshening up, she left the third hall. This time, there was no little goblin waiting outside, but she was already familiar with the process. She found the location of the descent elevator and proceeded to the next floor.
Upon reaching the next floor, she arrived at the familiar small wooden house. As usual, there was no one in sight but the sound could be heard first.
Mu's voice was loud enough to penetrate the entire next floor.
Athena politely knocked on the door, but Mu didn't come to open it, so she opened it herself and walked in.
At that moment, Mu was trying to reach for something on the shelf above, grumbling to himself while tiptoeing, with a stool right beside him which he didn't use.
Seeing Athena, he directed her to fetch something from the cabinet. Athena raised her hand and took down the object, a gray jar containing a white powder.
"If you're here, don't just stand there. I taught you yesterday, did you forget already? Keep going!"
Looking at the familiar scene, Athena sighed deeply in her heart and sat down. The materials on the table had been replaced with a new batch, clearly prepared for Athena.
"With your current level, you're only fit to make Fireburst Balls. Don't be dissatisfied. Mastering this alone will sustain you for a lifetime. Don't think about anything else for now."
"At the very least, you need to produce a good quality one!"
Mu could sense Athena's helplessness and said impatiently.
Athena also knew that Mu was right. She wasn't dissatisfied; she was just lamenting.
Repeatedly making and remaking, unfortunately, from day to afternoon, all the Fireburst Balls Athena made were still inferior products, with only one approaching average quality but still falling slightly short.
Mu's mouth went dry from all the scolding as he drank water angrily. As Athena was about to leave in a hurry, he took out a sack he had scavenged yesterday and gave it to her.
"Even when you go back, don't forget to practice more. There's only this much material. Once it's used up, you'll have to figure it out yourself. Truly foolish!"
Athena looked at the sack he brought over, reached out to take it, but didn't open up this stubborn old man. She hadn't spent much time with Mu, and their interactions were mostly filled with Mu's dissatisfaction and complaints, along with his guidance.
"Don't say that. Who knows, maybe I'll be back sooner than you think?" Athena said with a smile.
Mu looked at her as if she were an idiot. "Don't even think about finding another guide. That method is only good for one use."
"Okay." Athena didn't argue further. She simply took out a bag of vegetables and handed it to him.
The vegetables she brought were divided into four portions. One portion was given to Uncle Gowther, one to Mu, another to the goblin who had given her two bottles of potion, and the last portion, as she was leaving, she gave to the tribe leader, coincidentally with little Garfield nearby.
Even though everyone advised her to stay away from guides, Athena had no choice. She didn't come here through the system's teleportation, so she couldn't directly return using the system's teleportation array. So, reluctantly, she summoned the guide at the teleportation array.
The familiar sound of the horn and the sound of the cane, the old man holding a lantern, once again entered Athena's sight.
The guide only glanced faintly at Athena. There was still half a bottle of white wine left from the last time Athena had brought it for him. He took a sip and reverted back to his middle-aged appearance before leading Athena back.
Walking through the mist-covered path, unaware of the time, Athena was once again sent back to the courtyard gate.
The perimeter of the courtyard was full of traces of battle, scattered thorny vines, and craters left behind by artillery fire.
Seeing Athena's return, the thorny vines began to grow and bloom beautiful flowers. Athena squatted down and placed the broken vines back into the ground, helping them to absorb quickly.
"I'll remind them next time to remember to help collect the vines," Athena said soothingly as she touched their flowers.
Entering the courtyard, parchment paper bounced out of the spatial backpack and unfolded slowly, followed by Grey emerging from the parchment.
She curiously looked around, feeling very amazed by everything here. She even reached out to touch the thorny vines but got pricked.
The prince and princess, who were squatting at the door, started to get excited and jumped around. This drew the attention of the three little ones inside the house, who opened the door slightly and, upon seeing Athena, excitedly rushed over.
Due to her haste when descending the stairs, one of the grassball creatures, Paopao, tumbled down.
"Long time no see, everyone. You've worked hard," Athena said. Mikmik crawled onto Athena's shoulder, while Paopao and Witty were embraced by her. All three little ones were cautiously watching Grey.
"Let me introduce my friend, Grey. From now on, she will live with us."
Grey scratched her head somewhat embarrassedly. "Hello, everyone. I'm Grey, an adventurous girl."
Not only the three little ones but even Athena was shocked. She had always thought Grey was a boy...
After all, her body figure didn't resemble the goblin girls she had seen before even those in young age. She even recalled a peculiar sight where she witnessed a group of goblin men wearing women's clothing on stage, surrounded by a cheering audience.
So, with Grey's feminine voice and girlish name, Athena had assumed Grey belonged to that side of the spectrum and chose to forget about it.
One could easily discern the gender of a goblin based on body figure alone, but it seemed this wasn't the case for her new friend.
Now that Grey mentioned it, his... I mean, her father had told me not to worry, so that's why.
Athena looked at Grey, whose body was muscular and physically robust, comparable to professional athletes. Such a child to develop this amazing physique in her young age is remarkable which Athena can't help but amaze and respect the female goblin.
