27. Hearty Breakfast
Being stared by Nan Hai Yan, Nan Hua remained calm but she lowered her head. As someone who had been on the battlefield and bet on her lives over and over for several years, Nan Hua was naturally not bothered with Nan Hai Yan’s thick pressure.
For her, it was nothing.
But her current image should be of a weak young woman who had never been exposed to the real battlefield and only recently return to the Nan Family. How could she possibly show that she was calm?
Thus, Nan Hua lowered her head.
Nan Hai Yan looked at his daughter’s appearance and closed his eyes, trying his best to calm down and took a deep breath.
Old Master Nan looked at his son’s awkward appearance and snorted. He really wanted to dissed his son for spending almost his entire life on the battlefield. The result was that even his children were afraid of him.
Well, the first son is the only exception.
“Sit down. It’s time to eat.”
“Y…Yes!” Nan Xian Mu yelled and slowly picked the seat with Nan Hua following behind him with her head lowered.
Mrs. Nan looked at her husband and children before taking a deep breath and also sat down. She was not feeling comfortable around him, but she had to show her image as a good wife.
‘What happened in the last missions? His pressure is even stronger than before?’ Mrs. Nan felt troubled.
“Eat a lot.” Old Master Nan snorted. “You’ve been away on the frontline for a long time, so you have to replenish your energy.”
“The food there is fine, Father.” Nan Hai Yan looked at his father, not understanding what his father was doing. The food in the military was good and he had long gotten used to the food there.
Old Master Nan glared at his son. He felt that this son’s EQ was exceptionally low, making him wonder just who did he inherit it from. Neither he and his wife were so low in EQ like this son of his.
Nan Hai Yan saw his father’s glare and realized what his father meant. He turned to look at Nan Hua, who sit beside him. Because his first son was not here, the one who sat beside him is Nan Hua.
Mrs. Nan was opposite of him while Nan Xian Mu was sitting beside Mrs. Nan.
“Nan Hua.”
“Yes?” Nan Hua looked at Nan Hai Yan, showing a confused expression. Her small body shrunk a bit more as if she wanted to hide from Nan Hai Yan.
“You should eat more, okay?” Nan Hai Yan tried his best to make his voice soften. As a hardened general, this was the first time he coaxed a girl, but he was still being very patient.
Nan Hua blinked, looking at her father in front of her. She nodded her head and then looked towards her bowl again.
“What do you like to eat, Hua’er?”
Hua’er.
Hearing the intimate call from this big and strict looking man, Nan Hua blinked her eyes. She felt that the relationship of Nan Hua to the other family members in the Nan Family was quite strange.
“I don’t have preferences… Father?” Nan Hua replied and called tentatively at the end.
Nan Hai Yan’s eyes brightened when he heard his daugher’s calling him as her father. He was ready not to be called by her for a long time when he returned because he was late for several months.
But it seemed that his daughter was willing to accept him.
He was happy.
“Breakfast can’t be too heavy but it’s not that light either.” Nan Hai Yan was thinking about what food to add for Nan Hua.
Nan Hua looked at the porridge in front of her along with the glass of milk and felt that they all treated Nan Hua as a child who hadn’t grown up.
Mrs. Nan listened and felt goosebumps. Her marriage with Nan Hai Yan was more of business marriage, so the two of them didn’t really have much feelings with each other.
Still, she felt dissatisfied when she saw her husband coaxing this girl. “She’s not a child anymore, why are you so noisy?”
