Apocalypse: Mad Necromancer’s Troops

Chapter 8: Do You Have Anyone to Testify for You?

Chapter 8: Do You Have Anyone to Testify for You?

After completing the identity verification.

The Adventurers' Guild is ultimately an organization formed by adventurers.

Verifying identity is to ensure that you are a registered member, so they can find you after the commission is completed.

After verification, the clerk continued to ask, "Sir, what type of commission would you like to post?"

"I have a material that I need an alchemist to analyze, and if it's poisonous, I need an antidote made," Wu Heng replied directly.

"Alright, sir, do you have the material with you?"

"I have it." Wu Heng opened his backpack and took out a piece of the cut corpse core.

The staff placed it into a glass container.

"Your commission involves potion crafting and won't be publicly posted. The Guild will assign an alchemist to analyze it and ensure the potion's safety."

"That's fine."

This was a good thing—having the Guild supervise would be safer.

Finding a random alchemist outside might not guarantee the antidote’s effectiveness.

"The deposit is 5 silver coins, and the final payment will be settled based on the difficulty of the potion and the value of the materials when you collect the potion."

Five silver coins were just the deposit.

Alchemists really made easy money.

"When can I expect the results?"

"Within five days, you'll have your potion."

Wu Heng nodded, paid the deposit, and completed the commission registration.

Having the Guild analyze and create the potion was the best outcome.

Otherwise, he wouldn't dare use this thing on his own, and it might rot if left for too long.

After finishing the commission, Wu Heng left the Adventurers' Guild and headed toward the crowded district.

……

The crowded district.

This was the residential area for commoners where Wu Heng lived, located in the northern district of Blackstone Town.

Houses with stone-brick pointed roofs filled the entire neighborhood, with oval wooden windows open and clothes and blankets hanging out to dry on ropes.

The buildings were densely packed, the streets were exceptionally crowded, and the main road, paved with gravel, was only three to four meters wide. The clutter piled outside each doorway made the road even narrower.

A large number of commoners lived here, supporting most of the town's low-level work.

Back at his place, Wu Heng made himself a bowl of noodles and added two sausages.

These were things he had found today—items their original owner hadn’t had time to eat before turning into a zombie.

He had just brought everything back.

Healthy or not, it still tasted good.

After finishing dinner, he checked his body.

The bruises on his body had mostly faded, and there was no more pain.

"The potions in this world are really amazing."

Feeling that there was nothing wrong with him, he began his usual pre-sleep training.

He kept going until he was drenched in sweat, then washed up and went to bed.

……

The next morning.

After having breakfast, Wu Heng headed straight for the zombie world.

As soon as he reached the rooftop.

He heard the sound of 'clang, clang, clang.'

In the midst of the sixty-three waiting skeleton warriors, the skeleton hound was hugging one of them with its front limbs, furiously thrusting its hips.

The regular skeleton warriors lacked intelligence and, though shaken, continued to maintain their waiting posture.

The bones were almost rattling apart.

"Damn, why did I end up with this thing?"

Wu Heng was speechless.

"Skeleton Hound, stop that!"

If it kept going, one of them was bound to break a bone.

Upon hearing the command, the skeleton hound immediately stopped, trotted over, and sat down beside him.

"From now on! No more! Hugging other skeletons and thrusting your hips, understand?"

The skeleton hound tilted its head, looking confused.

Not wanting to bother with it anymore, Wu Heng checked the status of the skeleton warriors and ordered, "Follow me."

The sound of bones scraping against each other filled the air.

All the waiting skeleton warriors began to move, following behind him as he walked.

Wu Heng’s building was near the edge of the neighborhood, with a total of five units.

He had already cleared three units, leaving only two.

He opened the iron door leading to the stairwell, and a wave of cold, putrid air hit him.

He glanced into the stairwell.

There were no zombies on the sixth floor.

"Advance!" Wu Heng commanded.

Clatter, clatter!

The skeleton warriors stepped into the corridor.

The sound of their bony feet tapping on the ground was crisp and dense.

Roar!

From below, a zombie's roar echoed.

Immediately, the sound of running followed, and a female zombie wearing nothing but purple lace underwear charged up.

She opened her grotesque mouth wide, emitting a deafening howl.

The female zombie had a rather nice figure.

A broad chest and an attractive waist-hip curve.

However, her grayish-white skin was marbled with black veins, and her dangling right eyeball ruined her original allure.

She looked exceptionally terrifying.

Before Wu Heng could take a closer look.

The skeleton hound had already leaped over the skeletons in front, pinning the female zombie to the ground.

The already loose fabric hanging from her shoulders fell off, revealing more skin.

The skeleton hound immediately bit through the zombie’s neck, tearing it apart wildly.

Blood and chunks of flesh splattered everywhere.

The female zombie struggled violently under the pressure, constantly clawing at the skeleton hound.

But in terms of strength, she was at a significant disadvantage.

No matter how hard she fought, she couldn't break free.

The skeleton hound's attributes weren’t overly exaggerated.

Yet it still showed superior combat power against regular zombies.

At least in a 1v1 situation, it had an overwhelming advantage.

Soon, the female zombie stopped struggling, and the system notification followed.

【Experience gained: +8.】

【Summon - Skeleton Hound Experience: +1.】

The target was killed, and the system notification appeared immediately.

Wu Heng was now level 2, so the experience gained from killing zombies had dropped from 10 to 8 points.

This was understandable.

After all, as his level increased, the experience gained from the same enemies would decrease.

But understanding it didn’t make it good news. With less experience gained, more zombies would need to be killed to level up.

Another point of experience had been added to the skeleton hound, which was level 5.

Even lower than his own gain.

Thud, thud, thud!

Just as the skeleton hound instinctively grabbed the zombie's waist, the sound of rapid footsteps came from below.

Three more zombies came charging up the stairs.

Seeing the skeleton squad, they let out furious, ferocious roars.

Wu Heng pointed forward. "Skeleton warriors, attack! Kill all targets."

The waiting skeleton warriors immediately sprang into action.

Wielding cleavers, they charged at the oncoming zombies.

The zombies managed to knock down a few skeletons in the front row.

But more cleavers came down on the zombies' bodies.

The sound of blades hitting flesh was like a downpour, preventing the zombies from rising until they were reduced to a pile of mush.

The battle ended, and both Wu Heng and the skeleton warriors gained experience.

He used ‘Bone Manipulation’ to turn the three corpses into skeletons, then continued leading the skeleton warriors downstairs.

The descent went smoothly, without encountering any other zombies.

The doors on either side of the stairwell occasionally emitted the sounds of pounding and scratching, indicating there were zombies inside.

He went straight to the first floor, confirmed the front door was securely closed.

Then, he took out the bronze key and began opening doors one by one, clearing zombies and looting valuables.

At this point, the zombies inside the rooms posed no threat to the skeleton squad.

Clearing the apartments was uneventful.

They were just regular zombies, and everything went smoothly.

This was the kind of fight he preferred.

No pressure, safely gaining experience and increasing the number of skeleton warriors.

Returning to the rooftop, he counted the skeletons.

There were now 77 skeleton warriors in total, with one of them, the sword-wielding skeleton, reaching level 2. The rest were still level 1, along with the level 5 skeleton hound.

After distributing cleavers to the new recruits, he returned to Blackstone Town.

Eat, train, sleep.

……

The next day.

After washing up, Wu Heng prepared to go out and get some breakfast.

As soon as he stepped out of his door, he saw a few patrol guards in standard armor questioning his neighbors.

Patrol guards were the enforcers of Blackstone Town.

They wore leather armor and had iron swords at their waists.

Seeing Wu Heng step out, two of them immediately approached, their voices stern, "Wu Heng?"

Wu Heng frowned and nodded.

"Where were you last night?"

"I was in my room all night, didn’t go out."

"Do you have anyone to testify for you?"
