[Liana POV]

BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!

Artillery shells kept falling from the sky as I kept moving back toward the base...

I might survive a few shells but still...

BOOOOOMMM!!!

I looked at the shell that impacted near me and made a large explosion...

It formed a large crater in the sandy ground as it impacted...

Looking at that...

Anyone with a descend mind wouldn't like to even get hit by that!...

Including me...

BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!

The shells kept falling and not stopping at all...

This is getting ridiculous...

It's been more than five minutes!...

How much ammo do they have!?...

The artillery barrage kept coming and kept getting closer to the base little by little...

"Tch*" (Liana)

What to do...

It's hard to find out where the artillery came from as well with the amount of noise and sand flying everywhere...

It's getting very annoying... 

"Cyan, are you there?" (Liana)

I started calling Cyan with the communicator on the collar of my jacket...

They are chasing Cyan!...

The planes are shooting her in the sky but she manages to dodge them and she started maneuvering left, right, up and down in the sky above...

Not only do they send a full barrage of artillery but they also send fighter planes to deal with Cyan...

I underestimated their intelligent tactic a little...

If what I'm thinking is correct then...

And it might be the main mercenary group and not their grunts that they just sacrifice...

As I think of that the artillery bombardment from the enemy stopped just as I predicted...

And then I heard rumbling noises in the distance...

I grab my trusty RMG.M1 the one that looks like a large long barred gun but with two barrels that shoot two types of mana bullets...

I started aiming in a crouching position on the sandy desert below as the enemies are getting closer...

This might be quite a bad position but can't help it!...

The enemy platoon is near!...

I saw rows of dune buggies and even Armor personnel carriers or APC for shorts coming straight at me...

There are around fifteenth enemy vehicles...

Ten are desert buggies and five are APC's...

Looking at them...

They have quite the formation...

It should be a type of spearhead formation...

The buggies are positioned in a wide V shape formation inside the V shape are the five APCs...

Thank the Lord that the buggies don't have mounted guns though! But the APCs are different...

Three of them have mounted heavy machine guns or HMG for short and the remaining two have what seem to be autocannons...

Ah yes...

Infantry's worse nightmare in every game and real life!~...

The APC that likes to go Boom!Boom!Boom! For twenty seconds none stop or burst fire them to smithereens!...

The APCs formation is kinda the same as the Buggies though but...

The difference is that the three APCs that have HMG at the top are the main V shape in the front protecting the two that have the autocannon in the back, like a pentagon formation...

I aim my gun toward the enemy platoon and quickly pulled both triggers on my gun...

BANG!RATATATATATA!BANG!TATATATAT!BANG!TATATATATATA

Mana bullets flew toward the incoming platoon of enemies...

And the first to get hit is the buggies at the front...

They didn't stand a chance...

The best way on how to fight a spearhead-type formation is to strike them head-on or circle them from behind...

But it's only me here so I can only focus on fighting them head-on...

It would be quite a disaster if I fought against a hundred infantry though...

But since this is a mechanized platoon filled with vehicles...

There are a lot of problems with using the spearhead tactic... 

Especially if you have a weak armor-type vehicle at the front!...

As the mana bullet impacted the two buggies at the front the mana bullets shredded everything including the passengers inside it...

And then as the stronger mana bullet impacted...

Well...

BOOOOM!!!

BOOOOM!!!

It lit the two front cars on fire and both of the cars started turning out of control and one crashed into the sand!...

The other one turned and flip...

Blocking the front APC way... 

And the driver of the front lead APC didn't react in time and smashed into the car in front and the buggy that got hit was sent flying!...

The APC that smashed into the car was turning left and right and almost lost control but managed to stay in formation...

The car that got hit and the passenger inside though...

No comment...

I kept firing at them and manage to take out two more buggies and now they started maneuvering...

TATATATATA!BANG!TATATATATA!BANG!TATATATA!BANG!

The mana bullet flew and manage to hit the lead APC top LMG turret...

I don't know if that took it out though...

Haft of them turned left and the other haft turned right...

But it seems that the driver of the APC on the very front has a different idea...

That APC didn't even follow the others but it seems that the Driver just slam the accelerator and was planning to run me over...

As the APC was getting nearer and nearer to me...

I stop shooting and raised the giant gun I have in my hand into the air...

WOOONNNGGG........

Then the top of the gun started lighting up...

"You might think ramming me is a good idea since I have a very heavy gun in my hand but..." (Liana)

The light started getting intense...

Buzz!*Buzz!*

"It's a good thing I attached a mana Hammer at the front of the gun right?" (Liana)

As the APC was now in front of me...

I swing my giant gun down and struck the front of my gun towards the front of the APC...

BAAAAANNNGGGG!!!!!

CLACHING!...................

CRAAAASSSSHHHHH!!!!!!

The front of the APC got smacked down hard bending or even destroying the front of the APC entirely and then the APC got carted up into the air...

The APC then rolls in the air before crashing upside down right behind me...

The wheels of the APC kept moving even know the APC is upside down...

"Fu.... One down" (Liana)

I then turned around and saw them turning around as well and started circling me...

The enemy APCs are aiming their top turret at me...

I raised my giant gun from the ground...

I then turned my head and...

Aimed my gun at another random car...

"Twelve more to go, come at me!" (Liana)

[Will POV]

"Alright! Another One Down!" (Clap)

Clap was shouting while looking at the screen of an enemy airship falling from the sky...

"Sigh*..." (Will)

Looking at how many airships we blew up they just kept moving forward...

"Are they that stupid?... Wait, the right answer is... Is he that stupid?" (Will)

I as a former intelligent chief felt so lost looking at how much life was lost there...

I can only sigh in resignation for the fallen...

"Sigh*... Anyway, Clap! What's the update on the kid and her team?" (Will)

"Ah..." (Clap)

Clap started moving toward one of the many computers at the bridge and started typing on it...

Before long...

"Um..." (Clap)

"Speak" (Will)

"Lia Is Kinda In The Middle Of Fighting A Lot Of Armored Ground Vehicles And Her Friend's Above Is Fighting Enemy Fighter Planes, She Seems To Really Be In A Pinch Now!" (Clap)

"It Seems That They Have Cloaking Device Worn On!" (Clap)

How in the hell did they even get a full set of cloaking devices for one squad?...

It cost around haft a billion to even get one cloaking device...

Wait...

"V..." (Will)

If it's him...

Then it's no surprise...

"Dam we're not dealing with the mercenaries were dealing with his goons" (Will)

I looked at Clap and shouted at him...

"Focus on dealing with them! Turn on the defender droids!" (Will)

"Roger! Defender Droids Activate!" (Clap)

Clap then pressed a big red button on the keyboard and...

The walls beside the door started opening...

Pling!Pling!Pling!Pling!

And two droids came out from each side of the door from the wall...

With that said many sections of the place inside the base have hidden droids inside the wall that are ready to come out and surprise them if they try to go inside the base unannounced...

Each one of the droids is equipped with a short rifle for medium to short-range corridor battle and they are quite armored so they won't fall that easy in battle...

Will sighed again as he thought about what was going to happen next...

But little did he know...

Glatak!* 

Trump!...

Something falls from above behind him...

Followed by a trump sound...

Like someone just falls from above...

"Hm?" (Will)

And before he knew it a small knife was already on his neck...

When Will turned his head a little to the back he saw a girl with white long hair and red eyes holding him hostage with a knife on his neck...

He can only turn his head back to the front and sighed again...

"Siggggghhhhh*..... I ain't got paid enough for this Sh*t!" (Will)

Will complain in his heart that he needs a raise after this is over!!!...
