Chapter 13: Eroge System
"Eroge System? That sounds like some kind of pervert system," I muttered under my breath.
[Hey! I'm not the pervert here—you are! I am bound to you because of your… lustful actions. So, if anyone's a pervert, it's definitely you,] the system snapped, sounding indignant.
I chuckled awkwardly, trying to shake off the embarrassment. "Alright, alright. But seriously, what can you actually do? What are your functions?"
[As the name suggests, you will have to do erotic deeds. You earn Eroge Points (EP) by... engaging in intimate activities. I'll also give you missions based on scenarios, and you'll earn rewards for completing them.]
I raised an eyebrow. "Do I get penalized if I fail? I've read enough novels to know that systems sometimes punish their hosts with crazy death penalties or something."
[Of course not! Those are just stories. Like I said before, if the host dies, the system suffers too. Why would I want to harm you? We're in this together,] The system sounded almost offended.
I sighed in relief. "Good to know. But is that really the only way to earn points? I mean, surely there's something more... reasonable?"
[Yes, doing erotic activities is the main way to earn EP. But you can also earn Fate Points (FP).]
"Fate Points? And how exactly do I earn those?" I asked, intrigued.
[Fate Points are earned by changing the fate of people or events. If your actions deviate from the world's predetermined path, you'll earn FP. The bigger the impact, the more points you get.]
"Huh, interesting... But how would I know what actions change the plotline? The only plot I know is about Alex since the game revolved around him. I barely know anything about the rest of the world."
[Don't worry about that. I'll give you missions to guide you along the way. You just need to complete them, and the Fate Points will come.]
I nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, I get the EP and FP thing now. But what can I even use them for?"
[Eroge Points and Fate Points can both be used in the system shop. You can buy a wide range of items from across the multiverse.]
As soon as the system finished, a translucent pink window popped up in front of me. The interface was clean and simple, showing four main options:
Status | Missions | Shop | Gacha
[Just think about the option, and it'll open up,] the system explained casually.
I focused on the "Shop" option, and another window appeared, displaying an overwhelming array of items. It had everything—items, abilities, rare materials, powers—things from all sorts of worlds. My excitement, however, quickly deflated when I saw the prices.
An unknown beast egg was priced at 10,000 EP. Various spellbooks ranged from 1,000 EP for common ones to a staggering 10 million EP for divine ones. Artifacts and weapons from myths. There were sword techniques, elemental affinities, rare materials, and skills. There were even things from other universes: Iron Man's suit for 1 million EP, Superman's physique, Deadpool's regeneration, Harry Potter's magic, Ninja techniques, etc—the list went on and on.
"These prices are insane! There's no way I could afford any of this!" I groaned.
"These items are ridiculously overpriced!"
[Everything is priced according to its value. Nothing's unfair. If you really want to make the most of the system shop, you'd better "work" hard… and do some banging.]
I rolled my eyes. "Please, I'd probably die of exhaustion before I could earn enough EP to buy even one legendary item."
[Oh, don't worry about that. There are plenty of items in the shop to… help with your stamina. You'll last longer than you think.] The system's tone was practically teasing. [And don't forget, there's always the gacha. For just 1,000 EP per spin, you could get mythic items if you're lucky.]
"Gacha? Yeah, right. That thing scammed me so many times back on Earth. I'm not falling for that trap again."
[Suit yourself. I'm not forcing you,] the system replied with a hint of amusement. [Oh, and by the way, you can exchange FP for EP at a ratio of 20:1.]
"Twenty to one? Why is FP worth so much less than EP?" I asked, frowning.
[Because it's easier to earn FP than EP. And, as your system, I encourage you to indulge in sexual activities as much as possible,] it replied matter-of-factly.
I sighed again. "This is some kind of bullying, I swear."
[It's not. Stop whining like a child,] the system huffed.
[You might feel differently after checking your points,] the system chimed in smugly.
"Huh~, What do you mean? How many points do I have now?" I asked, confused.
[You can just look at your status,] the system said.
I focused on "Status," and the window shifted, displaying my profile. On the right side was a small picture of me, and on the left, my stats were clearly listed:
[Name: Arthur Ludwig (Unawakened)]
[Age: 14]
[Title: Heir of Ludwig]
[Strength: 14]
[Stamina: 12]
[Agility: 12]
[Charm: 18]
[Mana Affinity: Locked]
[Swordsmanship: Elementary]
[Harem: Lily]
[Eroge Points: 12,160]
[Fate Points: 50,000,000]
[Average Human Stat: 10]
I blinked at the screen, my mouth hanging open. "The fuck?"
