Chapter 3: Ability Awakening
Central City Science High School.
This is Peter and Gwen's third year attending this school.
After experiencing the crowd on the first day of school, Gwen, who had just sat down in the classroom, let out a long breath.
"There were really too many people today, Peter, especially being stared at by most of the classmates. I feel so uncomfortable all over."
Gwen put the backpack on the desk and gently fanned her cheeks with her fair and tender hands.
"Today is the first day of school, so it's normal for the school to be lively."
At this point, Peter raised an eyebrow and said, "As a celebrity in the school, you can still feel uncomfortable being watched by everyone?"
"Well, definitely. Everyone has their own life, and I just want to live a plain and ordinary life. Definitely, maybe a little adventure once in a while wouldn't be bad?" Gwen tilted her head, looking playful and cute.
Hearing this, Peter couldn't help but laugh and said, "There's a saying that goes, 'A gold nugget will always shine.' Gwen, you're good-looking and have good grades, not to mention Uncle George..."
"How is it possible not to attract attention at school?"
Peter's seemingly casual remark made Gwen blush in her heart.
Gwen and Peter grew up together, and Gwen has always had a good impression of this kind and academically friendly boy.
Hearing the person she liked praise her like this, Gwen felt both shy and happy in her heart.
Westerners have always been open-minded, but Gwen, born into a traditional old white family, is relatively conservative in her thinking. Therefore, Gwen has not yet experienced the sweet taste of love.
This is definitely also related to the fact that the person she likes has always been by Gwen's side.
"Peter... Are you praising me with this?" Gwen asked.
"Without a doubt, it's a completely generous praise."
"Since it's your praise, Peter, I'll accept it!" Gwen suppressed the shyness in her heart and decided to change the subject. "By the way, Peter, what was the happy thing you wanted to share with me earlier?"
Peter was taken aback. The so-called happy thing was just an excuse he randomly came up with at the time, but he didn't expect Gwen to care so much...
With a slight turn of his mind, Peter found an excuse.
Peter took out a newspaper from his backpack.
"It's this."
Gwen reached out and took the newspaper that Peter handed her. When she saw the headline on the front page, she couldn't help but freeze for a moment.
"Gwen, did you see the headline? There's a superhero who has been quite active in New York City recently. She wears a beautiful spider costume and everyone has named her Ghost Spider, also known as Spider-Woman!"
"I saw a report on TV before, where she helped apprehend criminals. Honestly, this Spider-Woman is really cool!"
"Not only is she agile and powerful, but she also has a noble character of helping others..."
"In this era of materialism and money worship, the noble character possessed by Spider-Woman is undoubtedly very rare!"
"S-So, Peter really likes her?" Gwen's voice was as soft as a mosquito, her cheeks flushed, and even her fair neck turned crimson.
"Very much! In my eyes, she is a true superhero, worthy of me... no, even everyone's admiration!" Peter replied firmly.
Hearing Peter's continuous praise, Gwen felt both happy and frustrated.
She was happy because the Spider-Woman that Peter liked was herself!
But she was frustrated because Gwen couldn't share the fact that she was Spider-Woman with Peter.
During the Radiance Expo held during the previous summer vacation, Gwen was bitten by a mutated spider, and since then, she has become the little Superman.
The abilities of reaction, coordination, physical strength, and even thinking ability of Gwen far exceed those of normal people by several times.
With the support of such strong physical qualities, influenced by her police father, Gwen secretly begins to capture criminals and contribute her own strength.
Therefore, in Gwen's opinion, if she were to tell Peter, who is just an ordinary person, that she is Spider-Woman, it would surely bring unnecessary trouble to Peter.
Gwen silently swears to God in her heart that she will use this power to protect her loved ones, including the boy sitting beside her at this moment, whom she has always liked.
...
Today is the first day back to school, so there are basically no classes.
Groups of students gather on campus, talking and laughing with each other, filled with a lively youthful atmosphere.
Peter, who has obtained the R-Spider bloodline, is lying quietly on a bench, basking in the sun.
"So that's how it is, I can switch bloodlines just by using my mind..."
"Switching to the Super Overlord bloodline during the day when there is sunlight is like giving away my head. It seems that it's best to maintain the R-Spider bloodline most of the time."
"The way to enhance combat power with the R-Spider bloodline is as simple as basking in the sun. It's really straightforward."
"It seems that enhancing the power of R Ultra is quite simple..." Peter clenched his fist. After integrating his bloodline, he had become a true Superman.
However, this Superman of his had just recently come into contact with the rays of the yellow sun.
In order to grow to the level of defeating multi-universe powerhouses, Peter still had a long way to go.
"My body is now like a huge solar battery, capable of storing massive amounts of solar energy. It will indeed take a considerable amount of time to fully charge the 'battery' of my body."
"But the focus now is not on the R Ultra bloodline, but on enhancing the combat power of the Super Tyrant bloodline."
"The Super Tyrant bloodline requires Kryptonite, which can only be obtained by killing enemies. There are many criminals in New York City, so there's no need to worry about enemies."
"However, this world also has S.H.I.E.L.D, so I need to be a little cautious."
"Perhaps I can try this...?" Peter's gaze shifted to the 'Marvel Transmigrator' ability that he possessed.
Peter felt that the Marvel Transmigrator ability would bring him some unexpected surprises and gains.
Collecting his thoughts, Peter lay back in his chair and slowly raised his hands, touching the sunlight that poured down from the sky.
Carefully sensing the changes in his body, Peter couldn't help but marvel, "Superman truly deserves to be the strongest being from Krypton..."
Superman, hailing from Krypton, is also known as a Kryptonian.
As long as a Kryptonian is exposed to the rays of the yellow sun, they will gain extraordinary abilities and unimaginable physical qualities.
The longer the exposure to the yellow sun, the stronger Superman becomes, and the more energy his cells store.
Whether in daily life or in battle, Superman's energy is constantly being depleted, and this energy cannot be replenished through mere eating.
The only correct method is to absorb the radiation released by the yellow sun!
The radiation from the sun that reaches the Earth has been weakened by the atmosphere, making it relatively mild and easy to come into contact with.
It should be noted that the closer Superman is to the sun, the more efficient his energy absorption becomes. However, this does not mean that Superman can simply fly close to the sun and absorb energy.
If Superman were to rashly approach the sun when his physical qualities are too weak and his body volume is insufficient, it would result in his body absorbing an excessive amount of solar energy.
When the body's cells cannot withstand the immense solar energy, Superman's cells will rapidly deteriorate, ultimately leading to death.
Superman, a prominent character in DC Comics, has experienced such a tragic fate.
Therefore, for Superman to be able to bask in the sun up close, his body and cells must grow and become powerful to a certain extent.
Now, standing on the surface of the earth and basking in the sun is the most suitable way for Peter.
A constant warm light shines on him, making Peter feel warm all over.
The billions of cells dormant inside Peter's body are constantly awakened by the yellow sun, greedily absorbing radiation energy and atmospheric nutrients.
Peter can clearly perceive that a portion of the solar energy is being used to strengthen his body, causing his body to begin evolving.
The remaining portion of the radiation energy is stored in his cells for daily needs.
The body of a Kryptonian is like a huge solar energy battery. The longer they bask in the sun, the stronger their combat power becomes!
There is only a short lunch break of less than an hour.
Just as Peter finishes basking in the sun and is about to go to class, his body undergoes a mutation!
The most immediate change is in his vision.
Peter suddenly sees more things. Looking around, countless scenes flash before his eyes, making him a bit dazzled.
And the voices of students talking around him, the honking of cars on the distant road, the chirping of birds and insects, and various subtle sounds all flood into Peter's ears.
The visual and auditory systems suddenly receive a massive amount of information, making Peter a little uncomfortable for a while.
Is the environment he currently lives in really this noisy?
Peter takes a deep breath, holds his breath, and focuses his attention on what he wants to see.
Soon, the intense discomfort brought by the massive amount of information subsides like a tide.
Having quickly adapted to the evolution of his body, Peter stands up from his chair and silently summons his significantly changed personal information panel.
The change in the personal information panel startles Peter.
