Chapter 18: Wanda In Black Silk Stockings, Ch 9.2
Most of the visitors were magic enthusiasts. After being granted permission, they scattered to browse the bookshelves filled with magical tomes, their curiosity piqued. Yet, after flipping through the books, the majority merely took a quick glance at the contents and returned them because they couldn't understand anything.
Meanwhile, Hode stood in front of a bookshelf, casually pulling out a magic book to examine. Nearby, Wong stood quietly watching. He sighed in disappointment upon seeing the bewildered expressions on people's faces; it was clear that only a select few could master magic and feel its essence in this world.
"What kind of expression is that? Do you really expect a bunch of kids and middle school-level fantasizers to understand ancient texts?" Just as Wong lamented this, a voice suddenly interrupted him. Startled, he turned to see a tall, thin figure silently standing behind him, clad in a red cloak.
The man appeared to be in his thirties, with slightly yellowed facial hair and a distinctly British look, exuding an air of elegance in his every move.
"Stephen, do you really walk without making a sound?!" Wong couldn't help but complain, realizing he hadn't even noticed Doctor Stephen Strangege approaching.
"I just came to take a look." Doctor Strange cast a cold glance over the crowd, arrogantly stating, "If I couldn't learn magic on my own, what hope do they have?" His talent afforded him a sense of pride, being the most favored disciple of the Ancient One. To him, Wong's actions seemed like a sheer waste of time; he had made rapid progress when he began learning magic, but that had been with guidance.
These ordinary people, even if they possess some magic talent, cannot possibly become self-taught without guidance from a mentor.
"I'm just trying to uncover some talent," Wong said, shrugging his shoulders and spreading his hands helplessly.
Although the chances of that are low, who can say for sure?
"Stop wasting time. With the time you have, go grab me a sandwich later; that money..."
As Stephen spoke, he began to rummage through his pockets, then paused, his face serious as he said, "Once those guys pay the entrance fee, just deduct it directly!"
"You..."
Buzz!!!
Wong was about to say something when a strange noise suddenly erupted around them.
A loud, intense buzzing echoed through the sanctuary.
"Wow! Oh my god, what's going on?!"
"Look! This world really has magic!"
"Mom, this is amazing! I want to learn too!"
"..."
The tourists nearby, who had been perusing the books, were astonished and gasping at the sight before them.
This was their first time witnessing such a scene in reality.
"What's happening?"
Stephen furrowed his brow and turned toward the source of the noise.
But when he saw what was unfolding, his blue eyes widened in shock.
A brilliant and ancient golden light, like a shooting star streaking across the night sky, surrounded them and formed a circular portal in the air.
To their astonishment, standing before this golden light was a young man with a calm expression.
That was, without a doubt, the Dimension Gate!
Even more astonishing was...
He had opened the Dimension Gate with his bare hands!
He wasn't using the power of a suspended ring at all!!!
