Chapter 76: More problems incoming…
Chapter 76: More problems incoming...
...
The whole forest was covered in a sticky blue substance. With Thousands of trees ripped apart, or just plainly destroyed, the beautiful forest that surrounded the home of our protagonist was no more, now that the battle has ended.
Though, even after Aspen saw the horrible scenery in front of him, it seemed to have not affected him in the slightest, as he just plainly shook his head with a sigh and then continued looking at the screen in front of him with a curious look in his eyes.

"What's that? Did this guy just become my subordinate?"
Aspen, who looked at the translucent screen in front of him with a dumbfounded expression, scratched the back of his head in frustration while also sighing with an annoyed tone.
"If he was gonna surrender to me anyway, then why did he not pledge his loyalty before dying? I could have had a giant King Slime as a pet!"
He let out an exhausted breath before he could turn towards the screen with a resigned look in his eyes.
"At least let's check if there's anything different from the game..."
Soon, he opened his inventory and started checking up all the gains from his recent battle with an expectant look on his eyes.

°Royal gel° °°° -Equipable [After making the soul of the King of all slimes give partially a fragment of its soul, this thin yet sticky substance was created. This layer of "Royal gel" makes almost any slime in the world to be willing to serve you and follow your orders (There's to say that slimes do not have much intelligence, thus giving them orders may not produce any results, as they probably won't understand)] |
°Slime Saddle° °°° -Equipable -Mount [After the King of all Slimes yielded his soul to you in order to not perish completely, his body and soul were reshaped and converted into this magical saddle that can summon him to aid you in battle, he will always be loyal to you, and will follow most orders you give him] |
After Aspen finished checking up everything on his system, he took out the Slime saddle from his inventory and waited for something to happen.
...
Just to find himself in an embarrassing situation while waiting awkwardly for the Slime to appear.
"Are you coming out or what?"
*Tzzzz...*
After Aspen called out to the Slime with an annoyed tone, a lot of gel started coming out from below the saddle, and it soon started converging and taking the shape of the average slime, but two times bigger than usual.
In the end, it took only five seconds for the body of the Slime to be created. And when it did, the slime immediately turned to look at him with what seemed to be an expectant expression on its faceless body.
"What's with that look, huh? Look here fucker, the hole you made in my chest is still dripping with blood every once in a while. You think I forget my grudges? I almost died there because of you... this is like... the 967th Time I almost died"
*Guroguroguro...*
"Whatever, just help me plant this acorns so that we can replace the destroyed forest... I don't need to have a Dryad pestering me about the importances of nature..."
*Guroguro...*
Aspen, who just looked resigned at his new partner, mounted on top of the saddle that the Slime was carrying and grabbed tightly the reins so that he could not fall off.
*Boom!*
In just one second, the Slime jumped at an incredible high, and started looking around for any place that could have enough space to plant the acorns.
Aspen, who looked rather calm even after jumping so high, threw many acorns in different directions so that they could grow in every place of this forest.
Standing on the ground, Evvie, Jack, and Claire, who seemed to have woken up already, looked dumbfounded at the figure of a slime and a human jumping around while planting acorns on a completely destroyed forest with the sunset happening behind them. It was almost hilarious to see how this scene seemed to be the beginning of a new, and legendary Friendship that could surpass the restrictions of time.

A few hours later...
...
"So you're telling me that the cultists are preparing something inside some strange purple castle in the middle of the forest some kilometers away from here, that has a mysterious old man guarding the entrance, and there's some strange presence residing within his body that gave you dangerous vibes?"
"Yeah"
Aspen, who heard Evvie's story, sighed deeply while covering his face with both hands in exhaustion.
'Of course it's the dungeon, why couldn't it be the dungeon... What are those hyperactive psychopaths doing now? Couldn't they just stay at home and worship Cthulhu or whatever shit in silence?'
Aspen then closed his eyes and started trying to remember everything he could about Terraria while Evvie just waited for him to give his judgement about the situation.
'The dungeon is protected by the guardian of the Dungeon, who kills you in one hit, no matter how much armor or damage reduction you have. The only way for you to enter the Dungeon without being attacked by the Dungeon guardian is to defeat Skeletron, who I suppose is the Dungeon Guardian in its weakest state, as both of them have the same skeletal face. And considering that the Dungeon Guardian actually allows the cultists to enter the dungeon without any problem, then it's safe to say that Skeletron is probably another part of Cthulhu's body that developed sentience, probably the skull and his arms in this case...'
Aspen, who was leaning on the chair with a pondering look on his face, opened his eyes abruptly and looked at Evvie with a curious gaze.
'But what could they be doing inside that dungeon...?'
...
"Is there anything else that you might have found or noticed in that place?"
"No, there was nothing else... Wait, there was actually something else... the screams of a young woman inside that enormous castle, although it was hard to perceive them, I still managed to notice some of them"
...
'Tsk... The mechanic... And in the worst case, this could mean... The mechanical bosses...'
...
