Chapter 139

Chapter 139
"We always have to find a way."

William heard footsteps fading away.

After a while, he smelled a somewhat familiar aroma that reassured him.William struggled, trying to open his eyes, but deep drowsiness had already welled up, and he slowly fell asleep following the rhythm of this dark world.

When William woke up again, it was dawn.

The bright and somewhat dazzling sunlight came in from the window, and he, who was still a little sleepy, had to give up resistance and open his eyes.

"This is in the medical room?"

William quickly realized where he was, his sides were separated by brown cloth curtains.A somewhat pungent incense, as well as the smell of potion and disinfectant, lingered in the infirmary.

The smell wasn't actually bad, but it certainly wasn't the reassuring scent he'd smelled before he fell asleep.

He sat up and found that under him was a nursing bed that was common in hospitals, covered with snow-white sheets and mattresses.

"Oh, you're awake, for Merlin's sake."

The curtain beside William was drawn, and a very gentle female voice said. The one who spoke was a somewhat pudgy woman with a washed snow-white square scarf wrapped around her head and a tray in her hand.

A very rich breakfast was served on the tray.

"Sorry, boy, these aren't for you. I'll have the house-elf bring you another."

Noticing William's gaze, Madam Pomfrey shook her head.

"William? Madam Pomfrey, is William also awake?"

Harry's voice came from behind the curtain beside him. With a sound of "wow", the curtain was pulled open with great force. Harry used such strength that William was a little worried that he would tear the curtain off directly.

"Looks like you're recovering well."

William watched as Madam Pomfrey shoved the tray of breakfast into Harry's hand angrily, and patted his arm a little harder, "This is the infirmary, not the Quidditch pitch!"

"Professor Dumbledore said that if you wake up, you should inform him as soon as possible. But I think you still have time to chat for a while on my way to his office."

Madam Pomfrey smiled softly, walked out of the infirmary, and closed the door for them.

"When you told me that we must work together to defeat Voldemort, you didn't say it was this way!"

Harry looked at William with some complaints.

"sorry."

William apologized in an insincere manner, "How long have I been asleep? Voldemort, I mean what happened to Yaxley?"

His question managed to divert Harry's attention.

"It's the second day now, I woke up earlier than you, yesterday afternoon.

Yaxley's condition was so bad that even that nasty Snape couldn't heal the burns on his face, Professor Dumbledore had to put him into a dreamless sleep and transfer him to St. Ge Hospital. "

Harry said with a complicated expression.

"Professor Dumbledore told me so many things... about my parents, and... about Voldemort. I can't even imagine what would have happened if you hadn't shown up that night. I think I must thank you."

He said very sincerely.

After waking up, he immediately described what happened in the corridor on the fourth floor to Dumbledore, who hadn't slept all night. For some considerations, Harry was talking about how William defeated Yake. When Sri Lanka, it seemed a little vague.Just mentioning that when he touched Voldemort's bare skin, it would burn.

Dumbledore also answered many of his questions, including the cause of his parents' death, Voldemort's identity, and the fate of one of them dying.Just overnight, Harry, who has experienced too much, feels that he has grown a lot.

"You knew early on that he was actually Voldemort, didn't you? You also knew about my mother"

Harry asked the question hesitantly.

It has been bothering him all day.

"It's not hard to guess, you know, the Special Contribution Award 50 years ago was Tom Riddle, and his contribution was the discovery of the Heir of Slytherin - we know the truth about the Chamber of Secrets. As for you and I don't know the specific experience of his previous contact, but I also have guesses."

William replied patiently.

This is all down to the process from the result, which of course sounds reasonable.

"Knock, knock, knock."

There was a sudden knock on the door of the infirmary, and Dumbledore, with a head full of silvery white hair, walked in. Like a hurricane, a brown ball jumped up from his shoulders and fell heavily onto William's bed.

Gable rubbed his wet nose against William's hand while biting him lightly, both caring and complaining.

"Professor McGonagall told me that if this little guy doesn't see you again today, he will soon eat the sofa in her office until there are only two legs left."

Dumbledore said with a smile.

William rubbed his little head vigorously, and was patted away by his dissatisfied paw.

"Harry, I think you will be very happy to know that the Quidditch House Cup is about to resume, and the first training of the Gryffindor House team will probably be around here." Dumbledore glanced at the wall clock on the wall , "Half an hour later."

The white wizard blinked.

Harry put on his robe excitedly, greeted William and Dumbledore, and ran downstairs.Except for the severe pain in his scar and the relatively heavy psychological shadow of "all petrification", he was not actually injured.

Dumbledore watched him leave, and then sat gently beside William's bed, sighing.

"Honestly, I don't even know how to thank you, William."

He said very sincerely.

"I almost made a big mistake."

Dumbledore miscalculated Voldemort's arrangement, thinking that he only had arrangements in the Forbidden Forest, but he didn't realize that his enemy was not just his old friend Tom Riddle. If it weren't for William, not only would the centaur in the Forbidden Forest be slaughtered, but Voldemort would easily take the Philosopher's Stone and make a comeback again.

He narrated what happened in the Chamber of Secrets.

"I spent too much time smoothing his memory before I thought it was a futile struggle - but once I figured that out, dealing with the magic was easy. I just had to The memories that originally belonged to Flint were kept separately, and when the other memories that did not belong to him and were forcibly implanted in his mind expanded to the limit, the elimination began by itself."

This is actually not an easy thing to do.

"So Marcus's memory still has a chance to recover?"

William asked a question.

"That's right, but he may have to rest for a year or two, and he needs someone to take care of him all the time during this period. Old Flint came to Hogwarts in a rage and asked me to hand over the murderer. Fortunately Yaxley is still alive, and his memory, though a bit muddled, is still intact."

Dumbledore said softly with a serious face.

Voldemort did too much harm to Hogwarts, Quirinus Quirrell, Draco Malfoy, Marcus Flint, and Dwight Yaxley, all became had killed his victims, and he had come so close to success.

"I pulled out part of Yaxley's memory and shared it with old Flint, Yaxley, and Lucius Malfoy. Their expressions at that time can be regarded as very wonderful. It's a pity you didn't able to see it with my own eyes.”

Of course.

Lucius Malfoy almost threw away the pretending cane on the spot, pulled down his sleeves, and had a real duel with the ashen-faced old Flint.Yaxley was obviously unwilling, but he had to say that this was his son's own wrong decision, which was a personal behavior and had nothing to do with the Yaxley family's decision.

"It's never over! Absolutely not!"

As Lucius left the castle, he gave old Flint a nasty look—he was clearly still bitter about Marcus Flint's choice of his son as the target of the basilisk's murder. If Voldemort returns again, it is likely that there will be some problems among his old team.

"So how is this going to end?"

William asked with some doubts.

"Lucius Malfoy made a suggestion: he will use the influence of the Malfoy family to apply for the Order of Merlin for you and Harry, and he will also withdraw from the school board together with the Flint family and the Yaxley family. Yes. But the accident will be publicized as a conspiracy by unidentified dark wizards whose last names will not appear in the Daily Prophet."

Dumbledore looked at William, "William, I will respect your opinion. In this matter, only you are really qualified to make a decision, whether you choose to make it public or keep it low-key."

There is no need to make it public.

William didn't want to cause panic in the British wizarding world - as a time traveler, he naturally knew that these wizards were too stupid, even if the whole society knew that Voldemort had returned, they couldn't do anything practical.

"But if it's handled in a low-key manner"

He was a little reconciled.

The Malfoys were fine, but Marcus Flint and Yaxley had caused him so much trouble, and it wasn't William's style to not take revenge so hard that they realized that the sky was high and the sea was wide.

"I have an idea"

William stroked Gable's furry head. He had already squinted his eyes, and seemed to feel that this would make him look too shameless, so he symbolically stretched out his paw to rest on William's hand.

"Hahahaha, I will convey your opinion to Lucius Malfoy." Hearing William's thoughts, Dumbledore laughed, "But is there anything I can help you? Come as my tribute to you An expression of thanks?"

"Well, Professor, I wonder if you've ever heard of the concept of a 'brand ambassador'? And commercial videos?"

Thinking of his "gray matter", William decided to take advantage of this rare opportunity a little.
