Chapter 64- Don’t abandon me
The process of torture was something Kyle had learnt from those two bastards in the cell, who were inches away from killing him.
Providing the sensation akin to death only to pull away the punch right at the end of the rope. Well, Kyle wasn't given healing potions so the two bastards, back then, used to beat him in moderation and without any magical spells.
However, Kyle was given the privilege to destroy this cur in several ways, with or without magic and just when it seems that the bastard is nearing his death—healing potions revive him.
"Just...k-kill...me...I beg...u ugh." Ceaser's face twisted in pain because his stomach was burning like a live flame was plunged into it. His face was a mess with several dark blue marks inflicted like he had gone through third-degree torture for several days. His glasses were broken and the shards of glasses blinded the green-haired man. His left arm was twisted and dislocated to the point where minimal movement gave a sensation of unimaginable pain. His ankles were broken and his toes were pulled apart. The fingernails were absent and blood continuously flowed down the tip of his fingers. Kyle burned his head and punctured the insides of his stomach.
From head to toe, the man was in tatters—to the point where Clara felt pity for him but didn't say anything to stop Kyle.
Kyle held no remorse for what he had done to the man. This person had beaten a woman and was about to sexually assault her. And no one in this world has the right or should harbour any reason to take such a step.
And this wasn't the first time Ceaser was doing something like this. In the novel, it was clearly stated that the man has tortured and killed many students in the past as well.
But this was enough. Not because Kyle was tired of torturing but because he was short on time.
Taking the last vial of potion, Kyle fed the man who had lost most of his teeth and whose jaw was broken.
"Ghurh..." Forcibly feeding the potion, Kyle witnessed the miraculous recovery of the man.
While Ceaser was recovering, Kyle went to Clara and wordlessly took her long hairpin in his handkerchief.
"K-Kyle...are you?"
"Yes, I am." His response was quick and without hesitation, he plunged the hairpin deep inside Ceaser's neck.
"Ghugh!!" His body was so traumatized that the man forgot to struggle and with blood draining out like a fountain, he dropped to the ground.
Kyle never had any intention of letting the man leave. Not only would Clara's life be in danger, but he also saw Kyle's face.
Once he was done assessing that the man was dead, he returned to Clara.
There wasn't much time left since the surroundings had begun to revert to its original state and in the staff room any teacher could drop by any minute.
Holding the woman's shoulder, Kyle locked his gaze with hers, and said, "Clara, I know you have gone through something harsh but this is the reality. Several scums like him would come for you, but you must defend yourself."
Clara was shaken by all the events that had been occurring for the past few minutes. However, all her turmoil came to a pause upon hearing his voice.
If Ceaser was that stone that created ripples in her serene mind, then Kyle was the source who helped her regain her calm.
She clenched his shirt as tears suddenly began to build in her eyes. She was scared, nervous...by everything. And in such perilous times, it was only he who could have provided her the warmth.
"*Sob* Thank you for coming for me..."
Kyle heaved a sigh, and gently patted her back as the lady weakly pressed her face against his chest.
This event was not supposed to happen in this manner, given Kyle has changed the pre-canon event in which Clara got traumatized. However, he severely underestimated Ceaser—and in the end, Clara had to go through something so horrifying.
To say Kyle wasn't at fault would be a lie.
He kept consoling her for some minutes, before he suddenly heard the faint footsteps of someone, approaching the staff room.
Detaching Clara from him, Kyle spoke in a serious manner while keeping his tone gentle, "I know this would be difficult for you but you need to take care of the situation, Clara. Tell the headmaster about the incident—he would be able to investigate it thoroughly and you would be proven innocent. And even if some problems occur, don't worry I will always be there to support you, okay?"
Clara didn't want to get separated from him, but given the situation, she didn't persist and softly nodded.
Just as Kyle was about to get up and teleport, Clara held his hand weakly and asked, "K-Kyle...you won't abandon me right?"
Kyle blew out a long breath, before he rested his hand on her head and while softly caressing her, he said, "No...I won't."
They remained watching each other for a moment or two before Kyle smiled at her and disappeared.
Clara remained silent for some moment before she turned her eyes toward the dead body of Ceaser.
All of a sudden a long toothy smile extended her lips and while tilting her head she said, "Thank you for your assistance, Mister Ceaser. Now rest in peace~"

After returning from the staff room, Kyle stood outside the council office for some minutes.
All of a sudden someone rushed toward the office and without knocking went inside.
Kyle knew the news of Ceaser's death must have spread already.
He heard whispers arising from the inside and not so long after, the President along with several council members marched out of the council room.
Kyle remained unmoved as he watched everyone go. His expression only shifted when he sensed her arrival.
"You heard?" He asked her.
Alatia narrowed her gaze to Kyle for some reason.
The sudden news from the teacher's staff room and Kyle's absence couldn't be related, right? She inwardly wondered.
She always keeps a close watch on him through her 'Eyes' after what happened with Logan. That's why she felt suspicious.
However, Alatia decided to talk about it later.
"I am free now. Let's go back." Kyle nodded and began to follow his lady to the dorm.
There was a strange silence between them which was not pleasant, unlike usual.
Kyle didn't utter a word nor did Alatia ask him anything.
They were just walking...and walking...then,
"Ala, I killed him."
Her steps never halted nor did she say anything in response. However, Kyle knew she had heard him and understood what he meant.
For the next few minutes, there was nothing that travelled between them except for silence. However, once they entered the house, Alatia spun on her feet and pinned Kyle against the wall.
Kyle didn't move nor show any sign of protest under those glowing eyes of the Princess.
"I had my suspicion but you indeed are having an affair with Professor Clara, no? I have seen her talking to you several times when I am not around."
Kyle asked almost immediately, "Do you trust me?"
"Yes, I do...but not all the women out there can snatch what's mine. You have to remember Kyle, that you belong to me. You have said that your first love is me, then why do you need someone else?"
Kyle knew her personality had changed and this possessiveness which originally Kyle should have, now Alatia possessed.
Trying to say anything here would seem like he is trying to convince her. So he decided to reassure her.
Cupping her cheeks he slowly connected his lips to hers and kissed her for a good half a minute.
When he detached himself, she was panting a little and her face was dyed red.
"You have been and always will be my first love. And no one in this world can change that. So stop worrying about trivial stuff and let's go and eat something good."
Alatia let go of him as Kyle walked further inside the house.
She watched his distancing back with a complicated gaze as numerous thoughts overwhelmed her mind.
'In the end, I have to depend on 'that' huh...'

A/N:- Don't ask me what 'that' is. She is up to no good. Probably will do some crazy shit. The other one is crazy as well. Oh lord.
