Chapter 14
After a while, he whispered, “Gu Huai, maybe I should go find a job tomorrow. I’ll figure something out regarding the certificates,” He suggested.
Gu Huai chuckled, perhaps due to the effects of alcohol; his eyes displayed intense emotion. “What are you worried about? Even if you turn me down, I won’t kick you out. You’re alone and helpless here. How can you manage without the Gu family?”
Mu Ci pursed his lips unhappily, choosing to remain silent.
Gu Huai seemed oblivious and continued the conversation.
Mu Ci possessed a strong sense of self-esteem. What Gu Huai had just said had irked him, making him resistant to accepting Gu Huai’s words. He stayed quiet, drowning his thoughts in silence.
Mu Ci had transitioned from red wine to rum, and the mixture swiftly caused inebriation to wash over him. Within seconds, he was on the verge of intoxication. His vision cleared briefly, but he soon descended into obscurity.
Mu Ci rested his chin in a daze, shaking his head, appearing somewhat bewildered.
Observing his condition, Gu Huai’s eyes, previously clouded by alcohol, immediately sobered.
“Mu Ci?” Gu Huai tentatively called his name, but Mu Ci simply raised his eyes, gazing at him with a confused expression and cloudy eyes.
He was indeed drunk. Gu Huai felt a secret delight and extended his hand to touch Mu Ci’s face. Mu Ci made no effort to evade or resist; instead, he found Gu Huai’s touch cool and comforting. He tilted his head and nuzzled into it.
Gu Huai raised his eyebrows, took Mu Ci into his arms, and reached into his clothes with his right hand.
“You rejected me so coldly earlier, and now look at you, all drunk like this after a few drinks?” Gu Huai, unaware of his deliberate actions, expressed his frustration.
Mu Ci gazed up at him with a blank expression, and Gu Huai’s face came into view.
At that moment, Mu Ci’s memory suddenly flashed back to the time when he and Ji Yunshu were at their closest. During that period, there was no distance or betrayal between them; they were simply a couple, secret lovers.
“Ji… Yunshu…” Mu Ci murmured softly, but Gu Huai didn’t hear it. He was entirely absorbed in a deeply satisfying sensation and leaned down to kiss Mu Ci’s lips.
The lips that were as soft as petals made people crazy, but Gu Huai tried his best to suppress the violent thoughts in his heart and kissed him gently, changing the angle to tease Mu Ci.
Mu Ci was very drunk, with his eyes half-open, and allowed Gu Huai to hold him and kiss him.
Gu Huai couldn’t wait to kiss his fair neck. Mu Ci finally groaned in discomfort and gasped: “Ji Yunshu…”
Upon hearing this name, Gu Huai’s eyebrows twisted in anger.
He holding Mu Ci and laid him in his arms, then slapped his butt hard.
“Whose bastard name did you just call?!” Mu Ci whimpered in pain and scratched drunkenly on Gu Huai’s clothes, he choked, “Yunshu… it hurts, don’t hit…”
Gu Huai observed Mu Ci’s helpless appearance and felt a potent jealousy coil around his heart like a venomous snake injecting its poison into the most vulnerable places.
Ji Yunshu – it was unmistakably a man’s name.
Was Mu Ci so deeply in love with this man that he was unwilling to accept Gu Huai’s advances?!
Gu Huai abruptly seized Mu Ci’s chin, turning the previously gentle kiss into something rough. Mu Ci weakly struggled and emitted a sobbing moan under his forceful embrace.
Gu Huai examined him intently. This man was incredibly fragile. As he looked at the wrist against his chest, it appeared delicate and pale, as if it could shatter with the slightest pressure. He resembled a piece of fragile, warm jade, one that only he could protect, and one that could only be safeguarded by him.
Gu Huai held Mu Ci’s wrist and tugged him closer, demanding, “Look closely, who am I, huh?”
Mu Ci blinked his eyes, obscured by a misty gaze, and parted his lips. His mouth was crimson, and he mumbled, “…Yunshu, Yunshu.”
He called out Ji Yunshu’s name while burrowing deeper into Gu Huai’s arms.
Gu Huai’s aura became extremely sinister at that moment.
Why?
Why is Mu Ci always so distant and cold when facing him, yet so trusting and close to the so-called Ji Yunshu?
Gu Huai suddenly pressed Mu Ci on the dining table and lowered his voice in his ear, low and dangerous, “Mu Ci, I am Gu Huai, remember.”
Mu Ci tilted his head and looked at him in confusion.
Because he was drunk, his face was much rosier and he looked more beautiful.
Gu Huai took a deep breath and began to slowly undress Mu Ci’s clothes.
Later, Mu Ci cried aggrievedly because of the pain and sobbing loudly.
Twenty-eight-year-old Gu Huai felt like a young boy for the first time, he kissed Mu Ci’s face and kissed away the crystal and bitter tears.
“Don’t cry, I will be good to you.” Gu Huai held Mu Ci’s hand and said in a low voice, “I swear.”
Gu Huai kept tossing Mu Ci until very late at night.
Since Mu Ci arrived, he had never given in to his desires before. However, tonight, he had truly let loose.
.
.
At six o’clock in the morning, Gu Huai awoke promptly. Mu Ci was peacefully asleep in his arms, his brows slightly furrowed as he breathed softly.
Gu Huai smiled with satisfaction and held Mu Ci close, their warm bodies pressed together.
“Aren’t ancient people supposed to be very particular about chastity? After one night with me, you should be completely devoted to me, right?”
After a while, Gu Huai leaned over, kissed Mu Ci’s forehead, and chuckled, “But don’t worry, I won’t abandon my ‘loser’ of a wife.”
He took Mu Ci’s hand and slipped an engagement ring onto his ring finger, saying, “Let’s get engaged first. Once we sort out your household registration and ID card, we can have our wedding.”
“What kind of wedding would you like? Western or Chinese style? We can have both, and then go abroad for our honeymoon. What do you think?”
Mu Ci remained unresponsive, deeply asleep. Gu Huai was content to continue talking to himself. After a long conversation, he gently brushed the hair from Mu Ci’s face and said softly, “Alright, go back to sleep. I won’t disturb you anymore.”
He then grabbed a book and leaned against the bed to read, his free hand gently caressing Mu Ci’s hair.
It took another two hours for Mu Ci to wake up. The hangover caused a slight throbbing in his temples, but this discomfort was quickly overshadowed by a dull ache in another part of his body.
His waist felt sore and weak, and his lower body was tender. The various bruises on his body served as a reminder of the passion from the night before.
Mu Ci suddenly sat up and looked at Gu Huai in surprise.
“What…what happened?!”
