Aemon Targaryen

Chapter 15: Hello Everyone

Hello everyone,

I have good news and bad news.

Which one should I start with... hmm... let's start with the GOOD news.

The good news is that this story began just a week ago, and thanks to you, I've officially surpassed the milestone of 400 members on Patreon while also making it into Webnovel's Top 10 monthly rankings.

I want to thank you all for the support you've given me, whether on Webnovel or Patreon, and I hope this will last as long as possible.

Now, onto the bad news.

I find myself facing a choice, driven by the impatience of some people.

I know that many of you would prefer that I write a simple fanfic where dragons fight each other and then it's over, but I'm writing about the Dance of the Dragons.

The origins of this war date back almost three decades before it started, and that's how I want to build my story.

I don't want to skip over thirty years just to suddenly jump to the war.

In that case, I wouldn't be changing anything from the original story. I might as well just rewrite the show's dialogues with ChatGPT, throw in two or three new dragons, kill the Greens and the Blacks, and boom, the end.

Many people are getting impatient, saying the MC is a beta, bla... bla... bla... Honestly, if you think that, it's because you haven't read past chapter 30, and let's not even talk about what happens between chapters 35 and 50. (And I'm being nice here.)

I was tempted to spoil a bit of the story, but I decided that wouldn't be fair to those who are still interested. So, keep in mind what follows because it's the only thing I'll say: after this, you'll either have to wait or find another story to read... unfortunately.

POINT 1: Aemon is INDEPENDENT. He is no one's puppet. He's not Daemon's, Viserys's, Rhaenyra's, his mother's, Jeyne Arryn's, or even mine. He is independent and will always act in his own best interest.

POINT 2: Aemon is very CAUTIOUS. He takes very few risks and generally doesn't throw himself into the lion's den without solid cards in hand. Even then, he usually won't jump into the lion's den.

POINT 3: THE DANCE HAS NOT STARTED YET... The Dance of the Dragons will begin, IF it begins (because no one knows the future), only AFTER the DEATH of VISERYS, NOT BEFORE.

I've seen a lot of people say that he's a beta, and you don't know how frustrating it is to have to tell you, without explaining, that you'll understand later why he acts this way.

I've done my best to open the eyes of those who still had questions, but I can't do more than that.

I'm not going to spoil the story just to reassure the hesitant. It's unfortunate, but that's life.

Wooow, I had a lot to say… sorry.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to me.

Feel free to ask me any questions you may have, I'll try to answer them as quickly as possible.

Good day or good night to all.

Ah, that's right, I almost forgot—happy reading: you've unlocked an extra chapter.

One last piece of advice before I leave: look beyond appearances and try to understand why Aemon does what he does.

Okay, I'm really leaving now.

Enjoy your reading, everyone.
