Chapter 31: -Chapter 27-
-POV 3rd person-
The doors of the Small Council chamber opened, and the king entered; he had no crown, no cape, and no clothes symbolizing his new excessive wealth.
He simply wore a black armor specially designed by Tobho Mott, the Grand Master of the Royal Forges, and two swords hung at his belt on either side of his waist.
He entered unhurriedly and nodded his head as he saw everyone stand up to greet him, once everyone was seated he didn't start the meeting immediately but instead observed all the members of the Small Council for a long time before announcing, breaking the heavy silence in the room with an announcement:
"I have thought a lot and have decided that it is time for the structure of the Small Council to change, from now on the Small Council is dissolved, this council is no longer of any use to me and therefore I am replacing it with the royal council"
Although the few members were shocked and had strong opinions on the matter, none of them stood up to speak out, and each wisely listened to the king to know what he had in mind, he had proven that he was not a fool.
"I plan to divide the council into 14 permanent members to honor the Gods of my ancestors, the Royal Master of Laws, the Royal Master of Coin, the Royal Master of the Treasury, the Royal Master of Trade, the Master of Maritime Ways, the Grand Admiral of the Royal Fleet, the Master of Whisperers, the Master Assassin, The Grand Maester, The Royal Grand Alchemist, The Royal Grand Judge, The Royal Architect, The Master of Construction and of course the Hand of the King the other counselors and person able to attend this meeting will have the title of royal advisor and will be chosen by me and only me"
"And who will occupy all these positions your majesty?" said Tyrion
-POV MC-
"Well actually I haven't decided all of that yet, I will cede the position of Master of Coin to Lord Mace Tyrell" I said, looking in the direction of Olenna Tyrell.
Olenna smiled at me and gave me a nod of recognition and then I looked at Tyrion and said:
"I suppose you would also want a position in the small council?"
He appeared slightly uncomfortable with the more friendly and familiar tone I was speaking to him before nodding his head and he said:
"I would certainly not refuse if you honored me in this way your majesty"
I nodded my head and then said: "As you have surely understood my uncle left for the North 20 days ago to gather the Army of the North"
"I find that starting a war against the Arryns, against the Tullys, and against Stannis simultaneously is a waste of resources and a mistake tactically, if you think I will waste my troops…" said Tywin Lannister with an indifferent attitude.
"I THINK nothing, and I ASK nothing either…I expect the sending of 30,000 elite soldiers from your standing army that you will personally lead into battle, I also want you to order the deployment of twenty of your best warships"
He didn't flinch but I could feel that he was not at all charmed by the way I was talking to him, I turned my attention to Olenna Tyrell and then I said:
"In the meantime, I wish for the Reach to deploy 30,000 soldiers and 100 warships I expect this army to be led by Randyll Tarly himself"
"It will be done as you wish but I have one small condition" she said in an almost servile tone, the tone of an old lady who only asks for one last favor before leaving.
"Which is?" I said curious about what this old skin could possibly want.
"My foolish grandson has become enamored with Renly Baratheon so I would like him to stop whining" she said clearly implying she wanted me to release him.
I frowned and then said emphasizing each word to underline the absurdity of her request:
"You want me to release a claimant to MY throne that YOU could make King in MY place who will have NO heir and who could REPLACE me"
"Put like that it sure would be difficult to release him but…" she said pretending to realize she had made a mistake.
I had an idea and then I said cutting her off: "I agree, you can take him tomorrow, given that you are my future grandmother, I trust you"
"Thank you King Aegon" she said with a big smile.
Tyrion and his father looked at each other but said nothing, I then continued saying:
"So before you interrupted me, Warden of the West, I was going to name the hand who will replace my Uncle and the lucky one is.....Tyrion"
"Me?" he said with almost funny astonishment.
"Yes, it will be you" I said with a mocking smile because I knew he was a very good administrator and would be of good counsel he was someone kind, intelligent but capable of committing terrible acts if the situation demanded it.
"I have no idea who should be put in the various positions but don't try to flatter the powerful houses find people capable of finishing their tasks you can put whoever you want except for the position of Master of Whisperers, Master Assassin, and Royal Grand Alchemist those positions are already taken" Tyrion looked at me and nodded his head.
I then stood up and left the Council chamber before being able to exit this room I said:
"And throw away this table I want a huge round table for this room"

Guys, I've finally managed to translate all the chapters into English and they'll be available at 10 a.m. in the Aegon Snow collection (English Version).
I know a lot of you were discouraged from supporting me on Patreon because I was writing in French so I've updated in English.
Please go and support me, even as a free member you'll get great benefits: 5 early chapters of this story and 5 chapters of my second story, which hasn't yet been translated but will be soon.
I'm very sick, I think I've got Covid and it's hard to write with headaches, so I thank God I've had the presence of mind not to post them all at once and to get a head start on the second part of the Aegon Snow Collection.
