V – Double A in strength and speed, platinum-grade character?
When Ye Lan noticed an anomaly on the computer, Suo Gang, who was standing nearby, turned to see what was happening.
“What’s going on?” he asked, eyes widening in surprise. He quickly sat down and began typing rapidly, but there was no response from the other side.
Yi Lai and Suo Gang exchanged a glance, while Mu Xuetong frowned.
“It seems there’s an issue at the police station. What should we do?” Yi Lai and Suo Gang asked in unison.
“Of course we take action! He’s our teammate, how could we possibly ignore this?” Mu Xuetong responded without hesitation.
After speaking, Mu Xuetong leaned down and kindly explained the situation to Ye Lan.
“Before this world changed, we were professional players. Today, we were supposed to join a siege battle, but it seems some of our friends are in trouble at the police station. Stay here, we’ll be back soon…” she said. However, Ye Lan grabbed her arm.
With a serious expression, Ye Lan looked intently at Mu Xuetong.
“I want to go too!” she said, her gaze unwavering.
“This…” Mu Xuetong hesitated.
“I’m strong!” Ye Lan insisted. Although her level was low, her [Blood Armor] skill was almost off cooldown, and with her other abilities ready, she was definitely feeling capable!
Mu Xuetong considered this, then nodded. She knew Ye Lan was strong, she’d managed to take on a level 10 opponent with sheer, consecutive attacks, so there was probably nothing to worry about.
"Alright, then let’s all go together!” Mu Xuetong agreed cheerfully, allowing Ye Lan to join them, while the other three stared at her in surprise. They knew how much Mu Xuetong adored beastkin girls and hadn’t expected her to bring one along on such a dangerous mission.
Of course, their reaction made sense since they had no idea of Ye Lan’s attack power. If all five of them displayed their stats on-screen, the difference would be clear. Even though Ye Lan was only at level 1, she had 100 attack points, while the group’s strongest member barely reached 60 points.
It was an overwhelming gap, and that was precisely why the beastkin race ranked sixth. Their incredible physique was capable of breaking the laws of physics.
“Then let’s go quickly!” said Mu Xuetong.
“Uh… We’re going on foot?” Ye Lan blinked in confusion as Mu Xuetong took her hand. Was there a police station nearby? Were they going to run there?
“There’s a car, but don’t you think it’ll be faster to run right now?” Mu Xuetong teased, sticking her tongue out playfully.
"Uh... that doesn't sound unreasonable..."
Once humans reached level 5, even the weakest among them achieved peak physical strength, and these guys were already at level 10. At full sprint, their speed was comparable to that of a car.
Mu Xuetong and the others began dashing in one direction at an incredible speed, like gusts of wind leaving people on the street gaping in surprise, their heads turning, unable to even glimpse their silhouettes before they disappeared.
Halfway there, Suo Gang, looking a bit concerned, glanced back and then turned toward Mu Xuetong, who was running beside him.
“Aren't we running a bit too fast? Maybe we should wait for Xiao Lan. After all, we're already at level 10, and she's just level 1. Her agility stat shouldn’t be anywhere near ours” he remarked with a hint of worry.
The other two nodded in agreement, while Mu Xuetong couldn’t help but chuckle, covering her mouth as she did.
She stretched out her finger, pointing ahead of them. The three of them turned to look in that direction.
“What the heck?!”
The three of them gasped in surprise. Ahead, just a dot in the distance, was Ye Lan, moving even faster than they were. Her small legs pumped like electric motors, the distance between them growing wider with each stride.
Mu Xuetong sighed, patting their shoulders. "You’re underestimating the beastkin race. Did you forget they have the highest physical stats? Even at level 1, her attack and speed likely surpass ours"
Suo Gang and the others exchanged stunned glances, their lips twitching involuntarily. Strength and speed already in the A range from level 1? What kind of “Platinum humanoid” stats are those?
“We’d better hurry, or she’ll leave us in the dust.”
“Right.”
The four sped up, running with all their might. Meanwhile, far ahead, Ye Lan hadn’t realized she was outpacing them. She even thought Mu Xuetong and the others were still ahead of her.
“Darn! No wonder they’re level 10, their speed’s insane! The police station should be in that direction, right? No time to waste; if I don’t pick up the pace, I’ll never catch up!”
With renewed resolve, Ye Lan pushed herself even faster, disappearing in a flash from their view.
A few minutes later, Ye Lan stopped in front of a large police station. The doors were smashed, and faint stains on the ground looked suspiciously like blood.
Just then, she recalled something Mu Xuetong had told her from the public information:
If you died here, it wouldn’t be like in a game, no respawning.
Her heart skipped a beat. Could something serious have happened?
Ye Lan crouched down, touching the stains. Thanks to her beastkin senses, her nose had become exceptionally sharp, picking up details humans would miss. And the smell? It wasn’t blood at all.
Tomato juice? Are you kidding me?
Annoyed, she pursed her lips and stood up, realizing it might just be one of Mu Xuetong’s friends playing a prank. After all, professional players were known for their jokes.
With that thought, she relaxed a little. Her furry ears twitched as they picked up the faint sound of coordinated footsteps inside the station—five people, moving in sync.
“A prank, huh? Should I go in and say hi?” she mused, taking a few steps toward the entrance.
Slowly, Ye Lan extended her hand toward the door handle. After a moment’s hesitation, she gently pushed it open.
The lights were on, and the interior was well-lit. Peeking her head inside, she swallowed nervously before stepping in. “Is everyone okay? I’m a friend of Mu Xuetong, so there’s no need to worry about me…” she began, but her voice faltered when a masked middle-aged man wearing a bulletproof vest came around the corner.
That wasn’t the worst part. The real problem was that, besides a handgun, he was carrying an enormous Gatling gun! The cold, metallic clink of the weapon as he aimed it froze Ye Lan in place.
Why on earth was there a Gatling gun in a police station?!
