Chapter 10: A plan!
In this world, people were not born equal.
Not everyone was blessed to awaken a superpower.
Furthermore, even after awakening a power, it was not guaranteed that the person would become a superhero, or otherwise use his power in a productive way like in the construction industry.
Villains existed in this world. As if the existence of the monsters was not enough to damn the world, it also needed the villains.
Humanity would always be the downfall of itself. As the apocalypse strikes to obliterate all, humans would still race to kill each other.
His family was killed, and he sets out for revenge against the world… She was an orphan jealous of kids with families so she grows up as a serial killer… reasons for why such twisted people existed were there.
But the final say always rests in the hands of the person, and circumstances are just an outlet to blame.
Everyone has a choice, even as they yell out how they have no choice.
Unluckily for Ren, today he has met one of those villains.
Ren saw that this guy's face which he didn't bother to hide was disheveled.
His beard was patchy and his hair was overgrown and dirty.
He wore dilapidated clothes consisting of a brown dusty coat, a plain grey shirt, and a jean on the bottom that was worn out and only reached a bit past the knees with signs of tear showing.
His shoes appeared like they couldn't take one more step before they would be done for.
From this Ren thought that this crazy person was just a small-time villain.
But nonetheless, it was still a dangerous person with a superpower.
"Keke, you're also a super… Kid, don't make this harder, give me all ya have on ya, and I'll let ya go"
The person who attacked him was also observing him warily, his hands tightly holding onto the knife as static electricity crackled on it.
The words came out of his mouth and it creeped out Ren as the now 'robber' was laughing like a typical villain.
His heart sped up for the first time since that fire, not from fear, but from how dire the situation was.
He may have been previously just an average guy, holing up in his house watching anime, reading novels, and so on, but, at one point he did resolve to get a job and be of help to his family.
Plus, Ren as a person, never allowed anyone to walk over him.
He had never been a coward.
But in this situation, he didn't have any experience in fighting, so he wasn't optimistic.
'This guy is also a superhuman, and he knows I'm the same…' Ren's thoughts spun as he glanced at his status.

Ren's heart and thoughts raced. From the earlier rush, and the current happenings.
The robber might have said he'll let him go, but Ren was absolutely sure he wouldn't.
Why? Well, the wound on his stomach would be enough to show why. If not, then the manic glint he could spot in the robber's eyes convinced him he was crazy, and not to take anything he says seriously.
Luckily, he could bear with the wound for now.
He once again heard the robber speaking.
"Hey kid, ya look like you'll die from fright, Keke"
Hearing this Ren's eyes shone red in anger, but then he regained his senses and calmed himself down.
He knew that the only reason he could move right now was only possible due to the person being equal or maybe even less powerful than him.
Otherwise, that attack would have one-shotted him.
Since it didn't, then maybe he wasn't as powerful as him. But Ren wouldn't think for even a second to engage him in a fight, he didn't know how to as he didn't have any experience against superhumans before, and he felt like he would just be sending himself to death.
His thoughts moved on to check over his body.
'I can move now a bit better than before, but it's better to act as if I'm still stunned for a while…' Ren formulated a plan inside his head.
The wound in his stomach stung, but the adrenalin that was already high from his exciting nightly scroll had just increased and right now he could briefly think of a plan.
He would wait for a chance, and then just hope the other guy doesn't match him in speed.
This person against him might be as strong as him, and Ren knew he was crazy.
These facts combined made him think of running if he could. After all, he had never fought like this with real weapons and such.
He didn't want to let his hotheadedness control him and end up doing something stupid.
There was a difference between confidence and arrogance.
And he was neither arrogant nor confident enough to take this robber head-on.
Especially since he had a weapon that can stun him.
If he was hit just a few more times then he would be a sitting duck waiting in place for what the crazy robber would decide to do with him.
Soon, as if feeling that Ren was ignoring him and that maybe he was still stunned, the robber started getting closer.
"Ain't ya a lil disrespectful brat. When someone talks to ya, especially me, ya better reply quickly, otherwise, tsk, tsk!"
He came walking towards him and waved his knife menacingly as he threatened him, his face still smiling creepily.
Still, Ren didn't speak.
Just when the robber stopped a bit away from him, confident that Ren can't move, Ren kicked the ground backward towards a pile of bricks that was near and grabbed a few bricks from the ground.
By the time he did so and raised his eyes the robber had already reached near him.
Ren's eyes widened at the speed for a second, but then all of a sudden, he was flooded with a feeling of knowing how to throw objects masterfully as if he had trained to do so since young, and he swung the bricks as if they were rocks at the robber accurately.
Five shots were made in total, and Ren turned abruptly to run away, not caring that he felt the energy in his body slightly decrease.
His speed was very fast.
"Bastard!" The robber cursed as he didn't think Ren could move. He increased his output of magic to fuel his trait and the static electricity increased around his arms and engulfed his body.
His speed then increased one step and he maneuvered around the bricks and continued forward even as the bricks impacted the wall behind him and left holes where they struck.
The robber ignored the sounds of the bricks as his eyes moved to spot Ren as he was escaping.
His mouth curled in ridicule before he kicked the ground and sped up.
Just as Ren was about to reach a wall and climb it, suddenly the robber was there waiting for him, this time fully engulfed in static electricity.
He could spot the robber grinning at him maliciously.
"Keke, yer stronger than I thought lil brat"
'Shit, shit' Ren cursed inside his head as he jumped backward and moved to the side of the rooftop. Gaining some distance from the robber.
The only way to run was where the robber was standing.
The wall over there was a distance he could reach.
But the place he originally jumped from before he was ambushed was quite high so it was not an option.
The sides were also not an option since they were quite high and he was sure he would die if he jumped from there.
"I wasn't planning on letting ya go in the first place, but now, ya just made me angry lil brat… I'll make sure ya won't think about escaping anymore, hmm, yes, maybe cutting one of yer legs would do the job? Two wouldn't hurt anyone too...! Ah it would hurt you, Keke"
The robber kept speaking to himself as he had one hand on his chin as if in thought.
He was holding the knife with it, so the knife laid on his cheek almost cutting through his flesh, but he didn't seem to care much.
Ren's eyes sharpened. He already knew this guy was crazy. But he thought that maybe he could escape at the very least.
'Fuck… maybe I shouldn't have taken this world lightly and kept strolling at night so casually…'
He couldn't help but curse silently once again.
A random stroll lead to him meeting such a psycho that was as strong as him, or even stronger. He had just gotten this second chance at life and he was already like this…
There was no use to blame himself in this situation. While he knew this city had heroes around to protect it, he didn't expect such a high level of crime to be present, such that a casual stroll led him to this position.
Still, he was thankful that he at least got accustomed to his new body strength that he didn't have before, otherwise, he would be dead.
The more he realized he was stuck here, the calmer he got. Strangely, there was he didn't feel any fear or be scared. He just glared at the robber and was thinking.
His thoughts were spinning and his eyes moved around while keeping the robber in his periphery, and he soon spotted another pile of bricks and a few metal pipes.
There were a few of those on the rooftop along with piles of sand and wood planks.
It appeared there was some recent construction work made in here.
Suddenly, Ren's eyes lit up and he thought of a solution to his current problem.
