Truck-kun
[Location : Boxing Gym]
I was inside a boxing ring.
My opponent had blue headgear and blue gloves, he stood arms length from me.
His muscles tensed up and his lips protruded more than normal, telling me that he had a mouth guard on.
His head was continuously moving, his body never had a moment of stillness as he moved from left to right. Looking for a new angle, searching for an opening.
His eyes were never blinking, only focusing on me like an eagle locked on it's prey.
Meanwhile I had a relaxed posture. My hands did not even guarding my face as they were down, exposing my face and only guarding my body.
Yet my opponent felt like there was no opening. He could not even imagine himself hitting me. His body hesitated.
Boxing was a simple yet complicated sport.
If you think about it carefully, it seemed rather simple. The opponent could only use his two hands, how hard could it be? How many attacks could he possibly throw at you?
But that was exactly why boxing was so difficult.
Each person had only two hands and only around 6 attacks that they could launch. And they can only hit above the waist.
But the thing is, it was very intense.
If you think about it carefully, it was just attack, dodge and counter attack. Nothing more, it seems quit boring. But the thing that sparks it to life is when these three things are done in a split second.
In a flash. In just mere instance. They exchanged blows. Attack, dodge/defend and counterattack.
This could be done quickly exactly beacuse there was very less options
Attack? You can only punch. Where to hit? You can only hit above the waist. A fighter did not have to choose like other martial arts.
They just act.
That was what gave boxing life.
Intensity.
My opponent, tired of waiting decided to launch the first attack. His left hand blurred as it came at me.
There was no movement which indicate the jab was coming. It was launched with minimal movement that makes it hard to predict.
Not for me though.
I stepped in, bending my knee as the jab flew past my cheek, making contact but barely.
Then I also gave an uppercut with my left hand while also jumping slightly to give more power and momentum as my fist travelled upwards.
It found it's destination on my opponent's chin.
In boxing, a punch did not start from the arms but from the legs. And your position and weight played a huge role in how hard you punch, not just your strength.
My fist landed clean on his chin. His head bobbed upwards as his eyes rolled back.
His brain shut down and his body turned limp. He fell on the canvas.
*Tumb!*
Everything happened in but a single breath.
I immediately went to my opponent who was already awake now. He was knocked out only for a second. He laid there on the canvas, breathing heavily.
I looked down at him. "You alright?"
He nodded, spitting out his mouth guard before he gave a weak smile, "I think that's enough sparring for me."
I smiled and took off my gloves before holding out my hand. He took it and I pulled him up.
The other boxers came into the boxing ring, one of them said, "There was only 21 seconds left. You nearly last a round Daichi."
"Fuck off." My opponent, Daichi said as he throws his glove at him.
"Well I will be leaving now." I said while taking off my gloves and the bandage on my hands.
"Already?" Daichi asked.
"I still have school."
He grimaced, "Right, now you made me realize again that a highschool student beat me."
The others laughed while I shook my head in amusement.
Then I climbed out of the boxing ring and went home when I was ready.

[Location : Itan Highschool]
"No, I don`t think so. I mean they are not even blood related and they only had each other so it`s not surprising that they developed romantic feelings for each other. So there is nothing wrong. It's not incest!!!" Marin said with a triumph face.
She was sitting on a chair of the seat right infront of me. Her chest leaned on the back post of the chair while she rest her arm and head on the top back.
"That does not justify it. They had been living together for years and I think it was still incest. And besides Sagiri is twelve!!" I retorted.
"So what? Masume is also only 15." Marin said.
It has been more than a week again since I met Marin and she had been coming to me almost every break to talk to me.
It would be a lie to say that I didn't appreciate her company. She was the only thing that made me look forward to going to school at this point.
'I think...I think I made a friend.'
{Amazing!! The main character has finally come out of his shell. He now has a friend, after 32 years of existence!!} the author said yet again in his sarcastic tone. Determined to never miss the chance to make fun of me.
I ignored his sarcastic comment and focused on the conversation I had with Marin.
We were talking about the spicy anime that came out this season. Eromanga-sensei.
And Marin Kitagawa claimed that there was nothing wrong with the anime. Truly a woman of culture.
"I guess...maybe eromanga-sensei is acceptable." I said, admitting defeat in the debate.
She smiled brightly, "So, do you admit that eromanga-sensei is tots the best anime that came out this season?"
I raised my hand, "Don`t push your luck. Nothing beats Fate Apocrypha."
She groaned, "Don`t talk about that complicated franchise."
"It is not complicated at all." I said, even I didn`t believe it.
Then I had a very short explanation on how the nasuverse worked. As I was explaining, I also realized how complicated it really was.
"Stop, STOP!!" Marin said, crossing her arms in an 'X'
"You lost me after you said King Arthur is a girl, but also father."
But before I could explain again, the bell rang and Marin sighed again in disappointment.
"Well, I guess that's it. See you tomorrow." She said and was about to leave but she suddenly stopped before coming back to me again. Her face showed she had a great idea.
"Why don`t we exchange numbers!! I always forget to ask since I always got lost in our talks." She said and brought out her phone which had a cute anime chain on it.
{Actually, I was expecting this kind of development.}
'Me too.'
I took out my phone trying to act calm as we both exchanged numbers.
I ignored the hundreds of message notification from Tsukimi and saved Marin`s number.
She smiled when she saved my number and typed in something. I immediately received a message from her and I opened it to read.
_______
Marin : I am leaving now. Bye!!
_______
After that I looked up from my phone and saw that she was no longer there. She had left.
{She is so....cute.}
I chuckled.
'She`s a good girl.' I said.
{So, you are going to wife her up?} he asked.
I shook my head, 'No, I told you I am not ready for that stuff. I just had a breakup.'
She was a friend now. And I wouldn`t mind if it stayed that way for a while.
The fun part of school was over again and I took out another book from my bag, before reading it under the table the rest of the day while also chatting with the author.
---___---___---___---
[The next day.]
It was morning and I was on my way to school. I walked at a fast pace, almost at the speed of jogging which got me a few weird looks but most of them got used to me at this point.
It was Thursday, meaning tomorrow is Friday. My favorite day.
I walked past by many people as the morning was usually full of life. People were going to their work.
I walked peacefully, while enjoying the morning sun which was neither hot nor cold. It really was the perfect day.
Besides the sound of vehicles and people, you could also hear the chirping of birds and the annoying sound of insects.
As I walked along the footpath by the side of the road, I noticed a truck which was driving on the road a bit far away from me.
The speed of the truck could be said to be quite fast as it soon came closer and closer.
But then something happened.
Right as the truck was going at full speed, I noticed a big brown-ish orange dog sprinting across the road.
It was very big, it was probably the biggest dog I had ever seen and if I had to guess it was probably a husky.
[IMG of the dog : Yuki from wolf children]
But the thing was, the dog was crossing the road right infront of the truck.
I was sure that the dog would safely be able to cross the road if it had gone on its way but as the truck honk its horn, it stopped in the middle of the road and just looked at the incoming truck.
.
.
My first thought was saving it.
I could surely reach the dog before the truck hits it but I was not sure if I would be able to save the both of us.
I really wanted to save it, but when I thought about it carefully, it was not worth it. In the end it was just a dog.
I would not have hesitated to save it if it was a child but I didn`t think a dog was worth risking my life for.
That was my logical thought process and I soon came to a decision of not saving the dog.
So...
Why...
Why was I already right beside the dog?
My body had reacted even before my mind processed the situation - like some shounen character type of shit.
My 28 stats of agility showed its full power. In a couple of seconds I had reached the dog
I was fast but not fast enough. The truck was only a few feet infront of me. It's bright headlight was all I see and the sound of it's horn was all I hear.
White.
Everything became white.
"Look OUT!!!!"
I embraced the dog and turned my body so that I could shield it from the incoming truck.
Then, it hits.
'Truck kun. You got me.' was my last thought before the world beats on my back.
Everything was not white anymore. Everything was black.
The only thing I knew was the fact that I was still hugging and protecting the dog.
My body got thrown away due to the force and I bounced on the solid road multiple types. I was still protecting the dog. I had tried to save it already, so better to just commit at that point.
I heard a tire drifting agaist the road. People shouting and the dog in my arms trembling and crying.
*Screech!!!*
*BAAAAM!!!*
I died. The End
