A Failure's hopeful Journey

The group looked at each other in a stupor. They could not believe the Impact of You Xi Wang's move had on the surroundings. At first, it was only the Shade uprooting the trees, but how would they explain the crater.

You Xi Wang said, "He exploded his core, and we ran away." Others understood what he was hinting at and nodded. You Xi Wang wanted to hide his prowess and put it all on the Shade. He was about to take a step when he fell on the ground. Yuki reached him, held him up with an anxious expression n her face.

She looked at Allan and hissed, "What are you waiting for? Check him up, Allan." the latter came back to his senses. He checked You Xi Wang's pulse and spoke, "He is fine, just exhausted his spiritual energy."

They all heaved a sigh of relief. Neo spoke up, "We still have two hours before your parents get here Yuki, I will take the watch, you guys look after bro Wang." after he was done speaking his piece he left to take the guard duty. Yuki and Allan took You Xi Wang to a tree while Fenny followed them with the cubs in her hands.

Maya jumped and sat down on You Xi Wang's chest and coiled herself and fell asleep over his body. Fenny saw this and said, "Yuki, looks like you have a competition." she stroked Snowflake, who was nibbling on some meat shred.

Yuki smiled and said, "Nah, Momma Fenny, how do you get all these ideas in your brains?"

Fenny replied with her head held high, "It is because I care for you, my dear children." they both looked at each other and suddenly laughed. They both chatted as Allan took a nap.

The sky was now slightly lit up and two figures approached them at high speed. It was none other than Takeshi Kinben and Ushijima Choma, They were wearing their council enforcer uniform battle suits and were moving through the forest quickly. Takeshi Kinben spoke, "I hope Yuki is fine."

Ushijima Choma replied as they continued moving through the dense forest, "Don't worry she will be fine, she is not alone in this."

Her husband only nodded, and they both increased their speed even more.

Allan was on guard duty suddenly, stood up, and shouted, "Who goes there?" while he aimed his rifle at the spot he detected movement from.

A figure appeared behind his back and said in a slow voice, "Young master Allan next time when you take guard duty, shoot first or inform your teammates first and not alert the intruders." this figure was none other than Takeshi Kinben, Allan found his body stiffen for a second and he slowly exhaled deeply and replied, "Thank you for your pointer, Uncle Takeshi."

The latter smiled and patted his back. They both descended the treetop and found Ushijima Choma talking to Neo. Yuki and Fenny were asleep while You Xi Wang laid next to Yuki.

They approached You Xi Wang but before they could Maya stood up and flashed her canines at Ushijima Choma and Takeshi Kinben, Snowflake and Shadow stood up beside their respective partners.

Allan spoke in a soft voice, "Maya, they are friends." Still, a look of caution was clear on the cubs. Yuki noticed the voices and sat up. When she looked around she found out her parents have arrived and she saw the cubs on their guard. She stroked Shadow and Maya and said, "Relax, they are friends."

Shadow and Snowflake backed off, yet Maya only sat on her two hind legs maintaining vigilance. The group just smiled as they realized Maya was looking out for exhausted You Xi Wang. Yuki stood up and hugged her parents. She explained how You Xi Wang exhausted his spiritual energy while fighting the dark dweller.

They all explained how they could compete with the Shade, but when they neared the end, they all slowed down and Fenny said, "Xi Wang warned us all about how that man was planning to detonate his core, resulting in all of us retreating out of range."

Ushijima Choma Calculated and found the condition to be plausible but Fenny provided her with footage from drones which proved that they were telling the truth. But they made it look as if all the drones were one by one ran out of battery and the one focused over You Xi Wang was driven away by the impact of his spear strike.

You Xi Wang slowly woke up, but he kept lying down, Maya sensed him waking up, so she got down from his chest and licked his face which tickled him, he said, "Hahaha, okay Maya... hahaha.. that tickles. Stop." and he sat up to make her stop. She climbed over his shoulder and sat down there with a satisfied expression on her face.

Ushijima Choma greeted him and said, "Xi Wang, you all will get good credits from the Council, also thank you for looking after Yuki in the battle."

You Xi Wang has just woke up and as per his habit he was looking for a shoulder to place his head on and Ushijima Choma was the closest so he just placed his head on her shoulder and said in a groggy manner, "Issokay mom, we are a family. No need for thanks." while the team shook their heads with a smile while Ushijima Choma was shocked by his gesture and answer.

You Xi Wang sat there in a half-asleep state when Yuki said, "Mom Xi Wang loved his family more than anything. His mother would wake him up and he will act just like now, Big Sis Zhichi has taken this role now. Remember when we all used to have night stays at his place before exam classes, we learned all this then."

Ushijima Choma nodded in understanding. Turns out You Xi Wang thought she was his mom and thus acted in this way. You Xi Wang tried to analyze what had just happened and realized that this woman was not his mother. He hurriedly stepped back from Ushijima Choma and looked down at the floor.

He spoke, "I am apologise for acting like that. I hope you forgive me."

Ushijima Choma wanted to say something but Takeshi Kinben spoke first, "It's okay Xi Wang. You guys rest. We will patrol the surroundings and leave when the sun comes up."

He tugged her wife. The latter followed. Soon they vanished into the thick woods. The sky has now lit up dimly. You Xi Wang sat there in silence and kept staring into the distance. A teardrop fell from his eye as he recalled all the moments he spent with his mother both in past life and current.

A smile formed on his lips afterward, and he wiped his tear and stood up. He looked at Yuki and said, "Call your parents, they should have breakfast before they leave." just as he was done speaking first rays of the morning sun spread across the sky.
