Chapter 12: Chapter 12
When Leonardo woke up in a semi-drowsy state as if it was just a brief moment of waking up. He found himself in a storage room and wincing as it felt like life was being drained from his face. Where a man in twenties was touching with a slightly fearful look and Martha crying out in panic.
Guessing it was Clark's latest villain, Leonardo moved Clark's leg and dropped the man on the floor by kicking his feet out from below him. Which he followed up by tapping the man on the head which seemed to knock him out.
'You need to be more careful Clark.' Leonardo murmured as he fell back asleep.
'Leonardo?' Clark asked surprised and happy before realizing Leonardo fell back to sleep.
"Are you alright, Clark?" Martha rushed up and grabbed Clark's face.
"Yeah."
--
The next time, Leonardo woke up and this time not in a drowsy state. He let out a yawn as he took a small peek at what Clark was doing. Which was talking to Jonathan and Martha about how uncomfortable he is about Pete campaigning him for class president.
'Going to be class president, Clark? You certainly have been busy during my sleep.' Leonardo said, startling Clark.
"Leo! You're awake." Clark blurted out in surprise.
"Son, who is Leo?" Jonathan looked concerned as did Martha.
'I hope this won't end with a face full of kryptonite.' Leonardo muttered to Clark.
While he muttered, Leonardo also slid a bit of distance away from Jonathan. Clearly earning a few concern looks from both Martha and Jonathan. Though they probably thought he felt guilty about something, and from what he could feel. Leonardo knew Clark felt guilty about something again.
"Leonardo is a person from another world who happened to be accidently trapped within my body. A mishap a few months ago when I was wishing to be normal, causing him to unexpectedly appear within me." Clark spoke slowly, trying to put what happened into words. "Apparently, we were supposed to swap, but I somehow stayed within my body. While I sort of pulled him from his life and universe."
Jonathan and Martha looked at each other, before looking at Clark. A mixture of emotions could be seen clearly on them, but what took over was a mixture of fear, disappointment and a bit of anger. Which left Jonathan's mouth moving, but no words came out.
"Can we speak to Leo?" Jonathan finally asked.
"Umm, no. He is afraid you will bring out meteor rocks and punch him." Clark felt embarrassed. "Not to mention blaming him for something he has no control over and learning about my secret."
Jonathan raised his finger, but no words came out. Since he didn't know how to go about this, nor did he like this. Especially when this stranger is inside his son's body and knows about Clark's secret as an alien.
"We just want to chat with him. Get to know him since he is going to be living here." Martha smiled.
"Well, he has a thing for blondes and pretty girls." Clark tried to ease the awkward tension.
"Blondes?" Martha raised an eyebrow.
"Well, brunette and black hair too." Leonardo added, before returning back into Clarks mind.
What followed was a series of questions, in which Clark was the middle man so to speak. Which made Clark feel weird since this is the first time someone was afraid of his parents. However, judging by the disappointing look Jonathan and Martha were sending him. He also felt like he understood Leonardo a little bit.
"While I don't like it, I guess we will have to trust Leonardo to keep Clark's secret." Jonathan grumbled. "However, I don't like him freeloading either."
'Freeloading? Freeloading! I wrote a novel to help you and you call me freeloading!' Leonardo roared in Clark's mind.
'That reminds me, that book is popular and many fans want the next book.' Clark said. 'Besides calm down, I'm sure dad didn't mean it that way.'
'Calm down, I am stuck inside a fifteen year old body, in another universe where three people know me and only one is my friend while the other two look at me like a parasite! Now I am being told I am a freeloader while I have to spend time basically hibernating for who knows how long?' Leonardo basically shouted.
'I know you're angry, but shouting isn't helping besides making my head hurt.' Clark tried to smooth things over.
'Whatever, the drafts for the series are saved on your computer. I am going back to sleep since it is better than this.' Leonardo said as he did as he said.
Clark rubbed his forehead as he felt his father's hand land on his shoulder. Which made him look annoyed at both his mother and father who looked at him with concern. Only for it to sky rocket and wish he could run away like Leonardo at their next words.
"Son, is Leonardo causing you pain?" Jonathan asked.
"No, he went back to sleep again because of you two. Great job, I needed to talk to him, but who knows when he will wake up again." Clark said as he stood up. "Oh, and he isn't a freeloader. That book Twilight is written by him in an attempt to help alleviate the farm finances."
After saying this, Clark walked to the barn leaving behind his silent parents. Missing their concern looks at each other as well their slightly guilty expressions. Since they realized they may have overstepped the bounds in their worries about Clark. Though some of the blame can't be just on them since Leonardo refused to chat with them.
"Did we do the wrong thing, Martha?" Jonathan asked.
"I don't know?" Martha asked. "However, I think we don't have much choice but to trust, Leonardo."
"We don't know anything about him." Jonathan said. "Hell, even Clark barely knows him."
"Trust in your son, and from what I heard. Leonardo has been a mostly positive influence on Clark." Martha calmly said.
"It could be a ploy to lower Clark guard." Jonathan retorted. "What happens when he convinces Clark to leave or do something terrible."
"Have more faith in your son." Martha sighs to the paranoid words.
"I do, it's Leonardo that I don't." Jonathan said.
Inside the barn, Clark stared up at the setting sun as he felt depressed over the mess he caused. While he knew that this day would come sooner or later, he didn't expect it to implode as badly as it did. Not to mention the scared looks his parents kept sending his way.
"Why is life so difficult?" Clark whined.
"Trouble in Kent family?" a girl's voice asked.
Turning around, Clark saw Lana standing there at the steps leading up to the loft. For some reason he felt she was about to open up about some drama she probably caused herself. In order to get him to open up about this issue, an issue he didn't want to open up on.
"Just a small disagreement on a few family matters." Clark vaguely said.
It told of an issue, but didn't specify it and basically told the unspoken rule of don't continue asking. Just it appeared Lana either didn't understand this rule or ignored it.
"What could the famous harmonious Kent family be arguing about?" Lana asked.
Clark clenched his teeth for a moment as it truthfully wasn't an issue he wanted to explain to others outside the family. Since even his parents reacted badly, which hasn't happened before when he discovered a new ability. So the reaction of others couldn't be any better.
