Since this is a temple, let's make it a temple.
I build a platform in the center of the room, raising the marble many of us are standing atop into a series of very large steps.
Several people lose their balance, but I use my power to catch and stabilize them safely. They each look at me with surprise as if they somehow know I did it.
I guess it's obvious. Looking to me as the likely cause of any random magical occurrence is fairly normal.
I grin toothily. Once I become a god, I should allow myself to be much bigger. More attention is good! As for now—
Directly underneath the immense center skylight, I turn the entire top stair of the dragon marble platform into an ornate floor pattern made out of a single huge slab of diamond. It's a mix of clear and black diamond.
The shape of the black diamond portion?
A pair of interlocked hourglasses.
Because the stair is clear from the sides, onlookers can see the black hourglasses deep within. It gives the whole platform a sense of ethereal beauty. It's like those glass orbs with colorful designs inside them; the ones that were popular decorations in my previous world. Except, this is the purest diamond. It's even more brilliant.
I add a spatial inscription to make the black diamond hourglasses slowly turn clockwise within the clear diamond slab. I then add brilliantly luminescent red 'sands' (a random gemstone I just now designed to match my eyes) which begins flowing from east, south, and west, up to the north, matching the flow of the artworks above. The idea is to have the other three hourglasses flowing into whichever one is northern.
I cover the whole thing with another thin layer of clear diamond to prevent someone from slipping on the moving minerals.
I then raise a huge number of large dragon marble benches all facing the center. There's a notch carved out from the back every so often for a dragon's tail.
These benches are substantially larger than my current dragons; they're meant for a twenty-meter dragon. I expect them to grow into these. Well, considering my size, I expect a lot more, but the point is to show off our draconic power to all the tiny little mortals.
Hrawr. This is totally unnecessary. But I like it anyway!
I also add an inscription which automatically produces elevators and cushions on the bench for non-dragon use. Most species don't have scales, and they're definitely not twenty meters tall, so they'd be... Well, entirely unable to use these hard stone, overly large benches.
I then decorate each of the thousands of benches with unique but random abstract draconic patterns. Each one also gets a layer of black chalcogenide glass covered by a thin layer of diamond. I merge the layers atomically.
That layer of black chalcogenide shines with a slight rainbow at various angles. Chalcogenide glass is such an interesting material— the way it reflects light is incredible! It might as well be a gemstone itself.
Finally, I spread my clawed hands into the air. A gigantic mass of blazing white inscriptions fly out from my body and slip into every single nearby surface.
I look around.
The whole temple faintly glows with an ethereal white light, thanks to all those hidden inscriptions.
Hraw, nice! DAMN it looks good.
Alright, now for the finishing touches. I cast transference on all the remaining dragons and bring them here. Many are stunned and don't notice me amongst the various people— though all of the dragons who were already here are currently prostrating in my direction.
However, every newcomer abruptly turns in unison and drops to the floor as if coordinated. Which seems so completely unnatural that I almost exclaim in surprise.
*SHUMP*
They're as terrified as the ones who were already here.
I gotta figure out what's happening.
That's NOT normal.
Not at all.
...
Except I have no idea how. Should I just ask them?
Raghhh.
I'll put the finishing touches on my new temple and deal with this later.
I inscribe a series of huge 300-meter tall Transference inscriptions in the shape of rectangular portals to the temple's back walls. I create a second paired portal in the center of each major city on the continent, except vertical and free-standing. Those are partially inscribed on the spatial layer.
The portals neatly line all four walls of the temple, evenly spaced. There's a dang lot of them.
I feel myself fill with pride when I see how many of these portals are connecting with cities under my rule.
There's still a few empty ones, but I'll change it so all portals can select regions by desired attributes later. Perhaps as a one-way transfer to towns, too? Or maybe for towns I can make a smaller portal outside of the town limits. I can't place a 300-meter tall portal in every town. Still, people should travel as they wish without being forced to walk through my entire temple or only go to big cities. I aim to please my visitors.
Of course, I could connect every locale with solely city-based portals. But as a prideful dragon, I want everyone to have an excuse to visit my temple, even if it is only for a moment. Maybe some will choose to stop in and stay a while? I hope so!
Plus, if my temple becomes a travel hub, it'll keep my entire population healthy and clean. They'll pop in here for a moment to go somewhere else, but my inscriptions will snag them as they do. It's the perfect automatic hoard maintenance! My hoard must always gleam brightly.
Each portal finally springs to life in unison; their white inscriptions and the portals themselves add another source of beautiful white lighting for my temple. Quite in contrast to my body's color! Hraw, hraw.
Realizing I forgot center platform lighting, I add a few inscriptions up on the pyramidal ceiling. Now, it looks like a waterfall of white light is coming down from the artworks, illuminating the diamond hourglasses below.
Ahra, rawh. Gorgeous.
The central platform looks unquestionably divine. Between the caressing white inscription glow, the shower of diffuse white light, and the floor glinting with every footstep you take? It makes you feel like a deity just standing on it. Even if you're not a Demigod like myself.
Raah! Gonna be hard to top this.
In fact, I don't think I'll ever try. This shall be called the Chronometric Dias. Literally, the time-measuring podium. Time itself will be constantly measured and found wanting. I nod my dragon head.
Hrr.
I reconfigure the lights on the center spike to point up, too.
An absolutely massive pillar of white light shoots toward the heavens from the roof. Its end can't be seen— which is because it goes clear out the atmosphere.
Why not?
Yes, light pollution, but I'm controlling that with a conditional Causal Conduit-based spell. I should add said magic on the portals, and on the rest of the temple too, for that matter. My temple's light shouldn't spread and pollute the skies; it'll only reflect and refract locally.
As for this pillar of light? After the light has interacted with the atmosphere directly above the center spike of the temple, its photons won't interact with anything else until coming into contact with a living creature's eyes. I achieved this using Causal Conduit. The result is that this pillar, and my temple itself, will be visible from the other side of the planet. Through the dirt, rock, and magma. Rawh! Perfect.
Thus, I've both prevented light pollution and made my temple seem to defy physics. Though I'm simply using physics in a weird way that only I can. What's not to like?
I admire my admittedly amazing handiwork.
Now THIS is a temple.
Rawh, I'm good. I didn't even plan it to look so absolutely godly. I was randomly picking things as I went. It's nice having enhanced mental faculties.
Rewh!
I look back to the dragons and non-dragons. Many of them are now prostrated, but the dragons are starting to squish themselves directly into the floor. Especially the one who insulted me earlier, Unlo. He's covering his head and vibrating like a broken washing machine.
It's past time to deal with these dragons' issues.
