Surprisingly I’m not woken up by pain, but by a slimy, wet feeling on my face. Lifting my head, I look around and find myself in some sort of fancy dining hall. Zenith sits in the opposite chairs, mouths agape as they stare at me. What’s wrong with them? Noticing the large man sitting at the head of the table, I try to get his attention. “Um, sir? Is this your home?” The dark skinned man refuses to look at me, his eyes landing anywhere else. What the hell is his problem? Glancing back at Zenith, I make eye contact with her. She points at me with a paler-than-usual face. I look down to see what she’s pointing at and feel the blood leave my face. My clothes - or what’s left of them - hang off of me in strips of torn fabric. I look like my outfit has just exploded off of me. “Huh?”
Pure fear courses through my very nude body, but I try to problem solve. Gears in my mind spin fruitlessly, coughing out smoke, as I stare blankly at Zenith. We lock eyes until I’m distracted by something lightly brushing against my boobs. Almost jumping out of my chair before I look down, I see that somehow the chair I’m sitting in has sprouted large leaves. The star-shaped leaves cover all the sensitive bits of my body as long as I stay in my seat.
Zenith coughs, looking at the man in the chair. “Count, she’s decent now."
Peeking like a child, the large man confirms what Zenith said before looking at me. “Well, miss, that was not something I expected to ever happen at my dinner table." Reaching under the table with one hand, he continues, “Thank god I had the maids leave just in case." Two maids enter the room, their eyes eventually drifting to me before they go wide. Motioning towards Zenith he speaks to the maid. “Emma, get some clothes for this lass, and take those two’s dinner to their rooms." He waits for the three of them to leave, then looks back at me. “Lass, I’m going to retire for the evening, these ladies will bring you clothes and lead you to a room. Let’s speak over breakfast tomorrow." He stands and quickly shuffles out of the dining hall.
Not long after, I’m alone with the maid that the Count called Emma. Her expression is something amazing, confusion mixed with embarrassment and shock. She gently places a dress on the table before reaching out a hand to me. “Let me help you dress, miss." I give her a wide smile, which causes her face to turn slightly red.
“Sure, Miss Emma! Thanks!” I take her hand, pulling myself out the leaves shrouding the chair. Trying to appear nonchalant, I just keep looking at Emma. Why is she looking at me funny? “Hey, what's up?”
She jumps, locking eyes with me, and stutters out, “I just d-didn’t expect… that, m-miss." When she says ‘that’, she points at my lower regions and turns the color of my name again. Confused, I look down, and sure enough there is something hanging there I didn’t expect either. I feel the blood rush to my head as I attempt to become a tomato.
I quickly grab the dress off the table, turn around, and throw it on. Seemingly automatically, the maid does the ties on the back for me. Trying to keep my voice calm, I thank her.
She steps in front of me. “Follow me, please, I’ll take you to your room."
