2nd Primarch

Chapter 46: Political Commissar Kane reports to you, sir!

The destruction of the Purifier Plague Army did not cause much commotion inside the bizarre subspace.

Instead, more and more demon armies composed of Nurgle demons began to gather.

Death and rebirth are the two most important powers of Father Nurgle. It is precisely because of these two diametrically opposed forces that there is disharmony among Nurgle's followers, leading to the emergence of different factions.

Over a long period, wars had broken out many times between the Purifiers, who represented the power of death, and the Corruptors, who represented life and rebirth. Many worlds had been destroyed as a result.

At this moment, however, the two factions united in a rare collaboration to jointly hunt the Primarch.

In the silent, hidden depths of the sea of souls, a blue figure watched all this with great interest. He fiddled with the threads of fate at his fingertips, forming an airtight net, silently weaving everything into it.

Although more and more pieces of destiny deviated from their original trajectory, it did not make Him unhappy. Instead, it deepened His interest.

"This is all as planned," murmured a voice from within the Crystal Castle.

The Edge of the Extreme Star Field

Guilliman's flagship, Macragge's Glory, swiftly traveled between the stars, heading toward the next battlefield.

Inside the battleship, a group of tall, slender Eldar adorned in sculptural armor sat cross-legged in meditation.

The Eldar have a more acute sensitivity to emotions and desires than humans. This is both a gift and a curse. They are more susceptible to sinking into desires from which they cannot extricate themselves. Because of this, they must constantly empty their body and mind to avoid contamination from the Warp.

This trait also makes it easier for them to perceive psychic energy, emotions, and even the illusory trajectory of fate.

Evelyne, still walking with Guilliman, suddenly hurried to the Primarch's office.

"Regent, the prophet of the Eldar has conveyed a new prophecy. The Second Primarch is surrounded by the spies of Chaos," Evelyne reported. She paused mid-sentence as she noticed fatigue and sadness on the great Primarch's face.

As far as she could remember, she had never seen such emotion from the Primarch. His Royal Highness, the Regent, only revealed his vulnerable side when alone.

If not for Evelyne's sudden visit, this side of him would have remained hidden.

Fortunately, the commander of the Death God Army did not dwell on it. After a brief pause, she continued, "The revelation of fate has been clear. Your brother is about to face disaster. If he succumbs to darkness or loses control again, the entire galaxy will endure unimaginable suffering. What should we do next, Regent?"

"I am well aware of Chaos's pursuit of the Primarch, but it has progressed much faster than I anticipated," Guilliman replied. His expression hardened as though his previous vulnerability was an illusion. "In this case, we don't have much time left. We must end the current war as quickly as possible and go to my brother's aid."

There was a strong sense of confidence in Guilliman's tone, and his steady voice gave the impression that he had anticipated everything. Evelyne, infected by his confidence, quickly regained her composure.

After discussing further, the Death Army Commander left the Primarch's office.

Once alone, Guilliman sighed wearily, "Hold on, brother. Hold on. You can do it."

"I hope I won't be too late. I don't want to lose anyone again."

The Fall of the Purifier Army

After the blessed Forgotten Messenger, Gust, was trampled and killed by Dukel, the defeat of the World Purification Army became inevitable.

The massive encirclement cut off every escape route, making the complete annihilation of Chaos forces only a matter of time.

Once all the fallen warriors and Chaos creations were eradicated, Dukel approached the Iron Fortress.

Reuniting with Efilar and other expeditionary forces, the Primarch went to meet the Astra Militarum rescued by the Heart Net team.

To Dukel's surprise, the Astra Militarum's political commissar had survived.

For a high-risk position like that of a political commissar, surviving such a battle was no small feat.

The commissar's next words shocked Dukel even more.

"Commissar Cain of the 597th Valhalla Regiment of the Astra Militarum, reporting to you, Primarch!"

"What did you say your name was?" Dukel asked in surprise, unsure if he had heard correctly.

"Commissar Cain of the 597th Valhalla Regiment of the Astra Militarum, sir!"

This time, Dukel heard clearly, but the surprise in his heart did not diminish.
