Chapter 134: Bound to be fun
Their group entered the settlement, which looked like a place with a mix of medieval and advanced technology. Wooden houses of diverse sizes could be seen while several types of Magic Array Devices were in every corner. The place seemed to have the same stalls where the Maguses and Familiars sold their materials, cores, herbs, etc, for higher prices.
Above all, it seemed easier to sell as well, and that's because prices here were slightly smaller than the settlement at the entrance of the Forest.
Linfel's group followed the location in the MCOM, arriving at a three-story wooden building with the emblem of the Ventis Sect in front. The Ventis Sect was also present here to receive the contracts and other things. It's just that they didn't intervene with anything that happened in this place.
Inside, Linfel found an opening to bring the delivery packages out of his Spatial Store without anyone seeing. Then, they went to a counter, where Linfel showed the contracts they got.
"Hum? Four Packages?" The attendant looked at Linfel's group's information in his terminal. "That's not bad. All packages are in pristine condition, which is rare for newly arrived Maguses and Familiars. There is no sign of opening either. As per the agreement, you will receive 05 Ventis Credits per package."
Soon, Linfel and the others received 05 Ventis Credits each. "Thank you, friend. We also have some other things to deliver here."
Alvin and Milia then pulled two huge sacs from their backs and put them on the counter. Following that, they also showed the other contracts they had for Magic Beast Cores and Materials... and they were a lot!
"Now, that's surprising," the attendant admitted. "Still, why are you selling it here? Aren't you going to open a stall and sell to higher-level Maguses and Familiars or two with more than two years in the sect who come by? Do you know about the Away Tokens?"
"We do," Linfel answered. "However, we also know that it might take various days to sell the materials, and we have quite a lot of them. Besides, this place is not exactly protected. If we open a stall with this many items, that will pretty much put a target on our backs."
The attendant faintly smiled. "Well, it seems like you aren't completely clueless of the rules here. Alright, give me everything."
The attendant checked the contracts and the items that went for each one. However, as the materials kept coming, his expression began to change. He quickly checked his terminal just to make sure, confirming Linfel's group arrived on the planet just five days before. Yet, the number of Magic Beasts they killed was astounding.
Above all, he could easily tell they were all Level Three Maguses and Familiars. It seemed hard to believe.
"212 Level Four Magic Beast Cores. Level Three Magic Beasts don't have cores, but you still got other materials from them, which means you probably killed over 300 on your way here..." The attendant looked at Linfel's group with doubts. "Were it really you guys who killed all these Magic Beasts?"
"Are you thinking we got help?" Linfel asked back.
"Did you not?" The attendant answered with another question.
Linfel faintly smiled. "Well, that's up to your imagination. As far as we are aware, there is no rule about getting help in such a way."
"True..." The attendant admitted. If robbing was fine, so why not a helping hand? Perhaps they had some High-Level Magus or Familiar friends. Or, most likely, they had a background in the sect and had it help them with their contracts. "Alright, who will receive the whole payment?"
Linfel quickly floated forward. "Just send everything into my Ventis Sect Account."
The attendant nodded, once again a little surprised. Usually, the Maguses, who were the masters, received everything. Well, that wasn't his problem.
Linfel quickly opened his MCOM and then the app, showing their earning to Milia, Alvin, and Nori.
-Ventis Credits: 102-
-Away Tokens: 21-
That was quite a big number, and 60 to 70% of all of that was contributed by Linfel alone. While they slept, Linfel killed Magic Beasts like there was no tomorrow, and he made it look extremely easy on top of that.
Linfel turned back to the attendant, who was putting the materials away. "Bother, can we take more contracts to fulfill on our way back?"
"But of course!" The attendant quickly replied. He pointed to a terminal on the side. "That terminal is connected to the various companies in the cities. Just check the contracts in there and get as many as you think you can fulfill."
Linfel and the others did as mentioned and took more delivery contracts with their own city as a destination. Other than that, they just checked the contracts for materials but didn't take them this time. It would be faster to simply see what they needed and then take the contracts back in the city at the company themselves. They would be able to take and deliver the goods at the same time.
However... "If you are thinking about just note down the items for the contracts, you shouldn't. Make sure you take the contracts now."
Linfel and the others turned back. "Why?"
"Because the contracts are constantly changing," the attendant explained. "If you gather the materials and go back to the city without the contract, the company itself might have no need for the materials anymore. Then, you would be left with a bunch of useless items you have no use for.
However, if you have the contract, they will have to take the items regardless if they need the item or not since you already signed with them."
"I see..." Alvin looked at the contracts. "Linfel, should we just take the contracts from before?"
Linfel pondered a bit. "Friend, can we take a bunch of contracts? Are there penalties if we don't complete them all?"
"There are," the guy nodded. "You will have to pay half of the Ventis Credits that you were supposed to receive if you completed the contract."
"Then forget it," Linfel spoke. Right after, he sent the mind messages to Alvin, Milia, and Nori. 'It matters not if the contracts disappear when we get back in the city. I can simply keep everything inside my Spatial Storage, so we won't have to walk around with anything.'
Milia and the others nodded. 'This Spatial Storage is truly convenient...' they thought, feeling a little bit jealous.
With that concluded, they left the Ventis Sect building and headed outside. There wasn't much for them to do there anyway, and they definitely didn't want to attract anyone's attention. Finally, they were back in the forest, this time heading back to the city.
"Let's make a little turn," Linfel suddenly asked, changing direction.
Alvin and the others didn't mind. They were used to Linfel changing the routes to give them some 'very amicable' training twists. However, his voice echoed in their minds again. 'We have a few new friends to play with coming from the settlement. I told you, this place is bound to be fun.'
